Davis & Elkins coach Jason Asbell started the following lineup: 5-11 So. Sydney Turner, 5-8 Jr. Kali Wilburn, 6-0 Fr. Kaylee Yergeau, 5-7 Jr. Stephanie Wooten, and 5-7 Jr. Shanda Howell.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts countered with 5-10 Sr. Shameekia Murray, 5-10 Jr. Michaela Hunter, 6-1 Jr. Jalen O’Bannon, 5-5 Jr. Mariah Massengill, and 5-8 Jr. Alexus Cooper.

Eastern Kentucky University gradually pulled away for a 73-58 victory over Davis & Elkins.  The score was tied once and there were seven lead changes in the game.  Easter Kentucky shot 37.5% from the field including four of 21 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on nine o 11 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 17 Davis & Elkins turnovers.  Davis & Elkins shot 32.8% from the field including seven of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Senators connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored six points off six Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

Shameekia Murray led a balanced Eastern Kentucky scoring attack with 16 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.  Jalen O’Bannon added 14 points, 14 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  5-11 Fr. Abby Wright chipped in with 11 points.  Michaela Hunter recorded 10 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, and three steals.  Mariah Massengill also scored 10 points.

Stephanie Wooten led Davis & Elkins with 12 points and five rebounds.  Shanda Howell added 10 points and six rebounds.  Nicole King chipped in with eight points.  5-8 Jr. Tajee Pledger pulled down seven rebounds.
