Sayre coach Ted Hall started the following lineup: 6-1 Sr. Reid Freeman, 6-0 Jr. Duncan Courtney, 6-2 Sr. Philip O’Rourke, 5-7 Jr. Allen Prewitt, and 6-0 So. Justin Sanders.  Berea coach Bill Smallwood countered with 5-10 Jr. Jonathan Smith, 6-3 Sr. Barry Scudder-Davis, 5-11 Sr. Ben Miller, 5-9 Sr. Chris Kidd, and 5-10 Jr. Eli Woodie.

Barry Scudder-Davis hit a field goal in the closing seconds to give Berea a 57-56 victory over Sayre.  Berea shot 50% from the field including 10 of 24 from the three point line.  The Pirates connected on one of four free throws, pulled down 15 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 15 Sayre turnovers.  Sayre shot 59.5% from the field including four of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Spartans connected on eight of 10 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored seven points off six Berea turnovers.

Barry Scudder-Davis led Berea with 18 points.  Ben Miller added 15 points on five three point baskets.  Eli Woodie chipped in with 10 points.  Jonathan Smith recorded nine points on three three point baskets.

Reid Freeman led Sayre with 28 points including three three point baskets.  6-6 Ray Brewer added 11 points and six rebounds.

Sayre (56) – Freeman 28, Courtney 3, O’Rourke 4, Prewitt 0, Sanders 4, Brewer 11, Pergande 6.

 

Berea (57) – Smith 9, Scudder-Davis 18, Miller 15, Kidd 3, Woodie 10, Hubbard 2.
