MULTIPLAYER
Surprisingly, someone eventually sent in some information on multiplayer since I've never played it again (I don't have a link cable or any friends with a GBA). So, special SPECIAL thanks go to "The Great BTX." This is exactly what he typed:

Since you don't have any info on Multiplayer I thought I'd send some to you. You get to pick two play modes, Battle & Classic. In classic, you and your friend(s) have to work together to clear a level in order to win. It's like Mario Bros. except you have 2 or more players. In battle, you and your friend(s) compete for clearing the level. You can jump on your opponents and pick them up and throw them at enemies or into a trash can in the center of the stage. When your opponent comes out of a trash can he/she can emerge with either a Koopa shell, a POW block, a Fish skeleton, or an egg that may contain an item that can be used against you, so be careful if this happens. If you defeat an enemy it doesn't count as a point. Instead, when you kill an enemy you have to collect the coin that comes from one of the pipes at the top. That's what counts as your point. If your opponent defeats an enemy, you can steal the coin that he/she could've gotten. In one level, Bowser will appear! on the central platform. Touching Bowser will either shrink you or kill you. He also blows fire, so beware! You can hit Bowser from under the platform in order to stun him. He's basically an obstacle. The first one to win 5 times wins the match!

Thanks again, BTX!!
