Cartier unveiled the book Untamed by Cartier at a launch party on November 20, 1997, hosted by Simon Critchell, CEO & President of Cartier, Inc. and Ralph Destino, Chairman of Cartier, Inc. at the Cartier Flagship Store on Fifth Avenue. This special edition bound book is comprised of photographs of women who have defined American style and those who have made an impact on American popular culture. It also marks Cartier's continuing celebration of its 150th Anniversary.

The book, shot by international photographer Vanessa von Zitzewitz, celebrates prominent and rising American women by displaying exceptional and never-seen before photographs of Lisa Marie Presley, Sarah Jessica Parker, Yasmine Bleeth, Daisy Fuentes, Christie Brinkley, Gretchen Mol, Tia Carrere, Carolina A. Herrara, Aerin Lauder, Alexandra von Furstenberg, Olatz Schnabel, The Chaplin Sisters, Pia Getty, Nan Kempner, and more. These exquisite images showcase the subjects draped in Cartier jewels and posing with exotic animals.
