D. Gottlieb's 1973 'Jumping Jack'

On May 22, 2001 I picked up this machine.
This was a major restoration project or a good candidate for stripping and repainting to my own theme. I decided to restore this one.

Information from the Internet Pinball Database:

Jumping Jack/ D. Gottlieb & Co., May 1973, 2 players.
Model number: 340
Production run: 4975
Features: 4 Flippers, 2 Pop Bumpers, 10 Drop Targets, 2 Kickout Holes.
Toys: Dead world ball lock.
Design: Ed Krynsky
Art: Gordon Morison
Notes: `Jumping Jack' is a 2 player version of `Jack In The Box'.

Here is a scan of the Original Advertising Flyer....Notice the drop targets are white w/blue clowns. The sample machines had these. The production games had yellow targets w/ blue clowns...

(After restoration, my top score is 104,170 on 7/28/02.)

Playfield

The playfield was in pretty bad shape. As you can see, someone put greeen mylar over some areas, applied star stickers to the pop bumper caps, 2 of the drop targets are broken off, there is red mylar under the pop bumpers and overall, there was severe wear on the playfield....

Backbox

The backglass was pretty bad as well. There was severe fading and crackling and even lifting of paint.

Body Front

The main body actually is not as bad as I thought, howver, the front is very bad. As you can see, there is severe rusting and someone screwed a metal plate onto the front to the side of the coin door.....

Below the links are more detail pics of the playfield. Please scroll down to view....
