Evil is attractive. Admit it. You see a train wreck, you want to see who got hurt. Evil is valuable because it is an inseperable part of our reality. |

church on fire
Skeptics are having a field day. "I told you so"s are everywhere. Faithful Catholics say that the Church is receiving plenty of persecution from the media. But persecution or not, the Catholic Church is made up of people, and people are imperfect.

prayer power
St. Paul said that if you hurt a pinkie, you hurt the whole body. Do you feel comfortable if you have a hangnail? You'd be gnawing at that finger all day, swallowed a truckload of bacteria, and infected your finger. That pinkie is you: No matter how insignificant you think you are, you're still part of the body, the body of Jesus Christ. |

identity
What are these new magazines for guys coming out -- you all know what I mean: G-Rated porn. A country that profits from big breasts, big guns, drugs, and shallow relationships in the mainstream. We wonder what's wrong. Easy, convenient, and confidential access to a wonderful world of sex on the Internet. We wonder why we give into sin so easily.

growing in holiness
There are two dimensions to our life in Christ, the internal and the external, the spiritual and the social. We are to grow in personal sanctifcation, but we are also to serve others, taking responsibility for the life of our brethen. It is important to see that the two need to go together. If we just looked to the "spiritual," we could become pious hypocrites. If we looked to the social dimension, we could become secular do-gooders without the solid foundation that is Christ.

letting go
What's the point of worldly toys when one has heavenly treasures at one's fingertips? What paltry beings you and I are now, what inconsequential things you and I have now, pall in the face of what God has prepared for us.

my funky instrument
To be very honest, I was somewhat ashamed of that instrument. I mean, do you remember watching "Family Matters" on Friday nights with the ever so nerdy Steve Urkle who played the ---- ?

pope's message
In long silent lines you passed through the Holy Door and prepared to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation; then the Evening Vigil and Morning Mass at Tor Vergata were moments of intense spirituality and a deep experience of the Church; with renewed faith, you went home to undertake the mission I entrusted to you: to become, at the dawn of the new millennium, fearless witnesses to the Gospel.

salt and light
As members of YFC, we already know that preparation for any spiritual event is key so we can get the most out of our experience of it. How can you lead worship if you yourself have an unconfessed sin heavy in your heart? How can you comfort participants coming to terms with broken relationships if you yourself harbor such a brokenness? |

verses
I BLOW THE NASTIEST SAFETIES, YOU COULDN'T EVEN BATTLE ME. I'LL BLAST GAS IN YOUR FACE, LET WIND AND MOVE YOU OUT OF PLACE. I'M THE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, CALL ME GASCIUOS CLAY. THE POWER THAT I BRING IS UNEXPLAINED. I GOT MORE GAS THAN AN AUTOMOBILE. I SQUEEZE MY BUTT CHEEKS IN YOUR NOSE AND WATCH YOU SQUEEL. THIS ISN'T A FAIRYTALE, THIS IS ALL REAL.
