 from this issue on, we're gonna make some changes. the word web site will remain divided into quarters so it's easier to organize and navigate. but the quarterly print issue, BANG the newsletter, goes out. watch out for a big yearly zine around conference time!
It is exactly one year to the day since we launched the online version of Illinois YFC's newsletter, "the word." We've barely scatched the surface of what it means to be a child of God. We've yet to understand and truly define what "vision" and "mission" means. We never thought we'd make it this far, but here it is: "the word" online year one. We made it!
Every issue, every story, radiates God's face, if only to the newsletter staff. His smile is always obstructed in the whole process of putting together a page online or in print, but moments of clarity hit us from time to time, and we're given a moment to step back and look at the work we've done: It is online, therefore feeble and dependent on fickle machines run by even more fickle people. It is written by imperfect people, and published without disclaimers.
But every word was written and edited with truth. Every page is a lesson in ethics and conflict (and design). In a world of lies, "the word" has, indeed, become a source of affirmation and encouragement to us of the staff. All this is possible only with the incomparable love and faithfulness of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
