I, Ravenna Angelline, also called mundane name, swear to live my life by
the Five Points of Wiccan belief, taking responsibility for my actions and
educating of my religion when asked. I will not turn any in need of help away without good cause,
nor will I allow slander and misuse of Wicca to go unchallenged, because someday
I may have need of help or be slandered.
Within my practice, if I teach, I ask nothing in return, and expect nothing in
return but the respect that I, as a teacher, deserve for the time and effort I
put into each student.
I take some responsibility for those I teach, and if I find that I have taught
them incorrectly, it falls to me to undo the wrongs done.
I affirm that I practice Wicca and all aspects of my practice, with a free Will,
and I will never deny, or in any way restrict the Will of a student.
I am fully aware of the ramifications of the Oath and I
sign/swear it before the eyes of The Lord and Lady in truth.
So mote it be.

The first paragraph is a promise that I make to live my
life by the Five Points of Wiccan Belief. This
is tied to the first and second lessons in the First Circle.
By defining what I view as Sacred, Moral and True, I’m defining my core
values. By coming up with ways that
I can live by the 5 Points, I am defining the rules for my life, and my
day-to-day (as well as, Spiritual) living.
I made promises to myself to live by these rules, and this first
paragraph is a solemn promise to keep by these rules.
This paragraph is also defining my role as a Wiccan.
Karma does exist, and if I am capable of helping someone in need and I
turn him or her away, then why would someone want to help me in my hour of need?
This is my promise that I make to help all who are in need, if I am able.
It isn’t telling me to help people at my own expense.
My home and my son come before everything else, but if I am able, I will
do everything I can to help other people.
The second paragraph is a promise that I make, that should
I decide in the future to teach other people UEW, that I would not ask for money
or material goods. If I decide to
teach UEW, then my only demand is for respect as a teacher and another person.
It is a reasonable request. The
only time I would need to ask for money is if the classes were held in a rented
hall or room. But it would only be a request, not a demand.
But it isn’t for personal gain.
The third paragraph is tied to the second.
If I teach, and later find out that I was wrong or taught my students
something incorrectly, than I take the responsibility to correct my mistakes and
teach my students in the correct manner. I
am the one who is responsible for their introduction to UEW, and it is my
responsibility to make sure that they are given the knowledge and tools that
they need to fulfill their role in the Wiccan community.
The fourth paragraph is mostly for legal matters, as my aunt is a notary, I know
some notary law. I know that in
order for anything to be notarized a statement of some kind must be made that
all things in the document are of the person’s free will.
No one is forcing me to sign and notarize this document.
It is a choice that I made by myself, and no one has ever pressured me to
move to teach others UEW. It also
states that I will not demand anything of my students that is not necessary, nor
will I in any way, shape or form, take away their right to choose and decide
what is right for them.
The fifth and final paragraph is a statement that I as the signee, understand
that I understand what it means to sign this document and have it notarized.
It is a solemn promise to the Gods and myself that the statements that I
signed were things that I will hold true to myself.
It is a legal and spiritual binding to the ideals of the 5 Points of
Wiccan Belief, to the future student of Universal Eclectic Wicca, and to the
greater community of UEW.
