Dvd #9A Carly is at
Jason's, she wants him to keep the fur coat and the diamonds for her. She
tries to explain AJ to Jason, that he is so insecure that he likes knowing
he took something away from Jason. She tells him how she can play AJ, and
he wants to believe that Carly is the victim and that Jason manipulated
her and he has rescued her. She tells him about their dinner at Cafe
Matisse and AJ ordered her fish. Jason comments that she hates fish. She
tells him the important thing is AJ will marry her and she will turn
herself into the perfect little wife for AJ. She promises him that it
isn't the real her, that the real her in her heart will remain with Jason
at the penthouse. She believes she will be able to return to Jason in a
year, with Michael. Jason groans that Carly always finds the hardest way
to accomplish anything. She asks him for one tiny little favor. They slow
dance in a darkened room to soft music, she laughs as he holds her close
and puts her arms around him.
Carly is thrilled to be allowed in the ELQ board meeting. Edward is
disappointed that Alan has decided to attend and vote his own shares. Ned
arrives along with Lila's proxy. The doorbell rings and Edward starts
ranting about how it had better not be Sonny. For some reason,
Reginald does not answer the door so Edward decides to answer it himself.
As he continues to mutter about Sonny the gangster, he opens the door to
reveal the court psychiatrist. She introduces herself and explains
that she is there for an in home visit to determine if the Q home is a
suitable environment for Michael. Edward apologizes profusely. Everyone
rushes over to greet to good doctor. Edward explains that they were
about to have a board meeting. The advantage of a family company is being
able to conduct all their business in the quiet family halls so that AJ
and Carly have more time to spend with Michael. The doctor asks to see
Michael's room. She wants to see him interact with his biological parents
on familiar territory. AJ and Carly caution that Michael might be a little
cranky from his visit to Jason. The doctor says that she wants to see
Michael interact with the rest of the family. Edward assures the doctor
that Michael's environment is full of love. What better proof of that than
the children who were raised under this roof? Every one of them a solid,
sober citizen. Emily comes down the stairs shouting that what Edward
is saying is not true. She tells the doctor not to listen to the others.
The house is hell.
Alexis tells Jason that she read the doctor's initial report and that the
doctor was very impressed with the way Jason and Michael interacted. She
suggests that Jason and Sonny drop by the Q's while the doctor is there.
Sonny says that he knows someone who can get Jason into the Q's.
Emily tells the doctor that the Q's is the worst place in the world for a
kid. All the family does is fight. Monica tells Emily that she isn't
being fair to AJ. Emily tells the doctor how Edward tried to buy Michael
and than they kidnapped him when Carly wouldn't sell. She also tells the
doctor that she and Alan were drug addicts and that AJ is a recovering
alcoholic. Carly jumps in and the fight turns into a classic Q brawl. The
doctor interrupts saying that she thinks someone is at the door. Sonny has
arrived for the board meeting with Jason and Alexis in tow. Edward demands
to know why Jason is there given the restraining order. Jason explains
that he is there for the board meeting. Edward says that since Jason sold
his ELQ stock to Sonny, he no longer is allowed to attend the board
meetings. Sonny gleefully explains that he sold the stock back to
Jason. Alexis confirms that as of an hour ago, Jason owns 6% of ELQ stock
which entitles him to attend any and all board meetings. Edward is
furious, but Carly looks pleased. Edward "allows" Sonny and
Jason to attend the meeting, but says that Jason is still not allowed to
see Michael. Edward will not have Jason make Carly and AJ look bad. Sonny
says that they just came there to do business. Ned suggests that
they get down to it then. Jason asks Emily if she is OK. Emily says that
she is worried about Michael.
As Monica says that they are all worried, the doctor comes down the stairs
with Carly and AJ who are apologizing for Michael's behavior.
Apparently, the visit didn't go well. AJ explains that Michael is still
getting used to the house. The doctor asks if AJ and Carly are engaging
Michael in things that he likes to do. AJ and Carly say that Michael
likes to take walks. As AJ and Carly continue to talk to the doctor, Emily
comes down the stairs carrying Michael. AJ begs her not to do this, but
Emily says that the doctor needs to know the truth. Michael is happy
when Emily hands him to Jason. She says that what Michael likes isn't
going for walks, it is being with Jason. Emily appears to be right as
Michael and Jason interact wonderfully. The doctor watches as Jason
explains what is going on to Michael. She asks if he always does that.
Jason says that Michael understands more than he can tell them and he has
a right to know what's going on in his own life. The doctor notes that
Michael is focused and content with Jason. She tells AJ and Carly that
that is what they should be working for. Michael hasn't stopped growing up
just because the adults in his life haven't decided where he should do it.
She thank the family saying that it has been an informative afternoon.
After she goes, AJ demands that Jason give him his son. Jason says that he
is going to put Michael to bed and that if AJ doesn't like it, he
can call the cops.
AJ turns to Emily and asks what he ever did to deserve what she did in
front of the doctor today. He doesn't understand. This is his life. Emily
tries to explain to AJ why she is doing everything she can to get Jason
and Michael back together. Michael is miserable. He doesn't understand
that he is supposed to be happy because he is with his biological father.
All the screaming and crying are Michael's way of fighting for what
he loves. As his godmother, her job is to make sure that Michael is
happy until he is old enough to fight for himself. She is fighting for
Michael. Standing outside Michael's bedroom door, AJ complains about Jason
being in the room with Michael. Carly says that the damage is done, they
may as well let Jason put Michael to bed tonight. AJ reluctantly
agrees and then starts complaining about what Emily did. Carly readily
agrees that Emily's actions were unconscionable. In Michael's room,
Jason lovingly plays with Michael as he gets him ready for bed.
AJ is home from work, having had a good day and asks Carly if she would
like to go out this evening. She suggests that since yesterday wasn't a
good day, they might stay home and regroup. AJ admits that the
doctor saw the Q's at their worst, as well as seeing Jason being
super-dad. He complains about Emily's actions yesterday. He then
tells Carly that he has arranged for the doctor to drop in on Jason the
same way she did on them, so he will finally be exposed as the unfit
parent that he is. Carly asks him how did he arrange that and AJ tells her
he has convinced the judge to agree to fair play. Once the doctor sees how
Jason lives, bulletproof glass, bodyguards etc, maybe she will
change her mind. As AJ and Carly talk, Carly attempted to convince AJ that
they needed to act more natural around each other. She tells him
that Michael must be picking up on their emotions, how they are not
comfortable with each other. She says that they have to start acting like
his parents and look at each other like a family. AJ tells Carly that
their past is blocking their future relationship. Carly tells him
that going out with him to La Matisse restaurant was the most fun that she
has had in a long time. AJ agrees and they shake hands on being friends.
The doorbell rings, it’s Jason and Alexis. AJ threatens to throw
him out, but Alexis hands him a court order that allows Jason
unlimited visits with Michael. AJ is shocked, while Carly smiles behind
his back. AJ is flabbergasted when Alexis announces that Jason has been
granted unlimited visitation rights. She assures AJ that it is all
legal. The visits must occur at the Q mansion, but AJ and Carly cannot
limit the length or number. AJ tells Jason that there is no way he is
letting him near his son.
Alexis tells AJ that his attorney's can challenge the visitation order in
court, but she is sure that even his own attorney's would tell him that it
is a waste of time. The order is a result of the report from the court
psychiatrist. Carly sarcastically asks if she bribed a judge. Alexis
strongly cautions Carly against making any accusations towards Jason
because it would reflect poorly on her own legal status (she mouths the
work Ferncliffe). AJ tells Jason that all he is doing is confusing
Michael. As Jason goes up to see Michael, AJ storms off to call his
attorney. Carly moves to follow Jason up the stairs, but Alexis
stops her saying that they need to have a little chat. She tells Carly
that it is women like her that give women in general a bad name. She tells
Carly to listen very closely and she will hear the part about how she
winds up back at Ferncliffe. She reminds Carly that she perjured herself
and defrauded the Q's when she put Jason's name on Michael's birth
certificate. Carly points out that the Q's managed to get past it. Alexis
tells her that the Q's don't manage to get past anything, they just tuck
them away until they are ready to use them. She tells Carly that she is
way out of her league. First she named Jason as Michael's father on a
legally binding document, then she left town abandoning her own son who is
still recovering from life threatening surgery in the neonatal ICU. Carly
says that she left because or post partem depression. Alexis says that
Carly left because that is what she always does.
She tells Carly that she has a lot of nerve trying to capitalize on real
PPD sufferers. If Carly lets Edward and AJ rush the custody battle into
court, Alexis promises her that she will watch her reputation go from
gutter to sewer. She will put two dozen real PPD mothers on the stand.
Like a dead beat father, she drops into town just in time for her
son's christening. It took Jason two weeks to trust her to take Michael
out alone. And when she did, she left him alone where he could have been
snatched by Tony. Carly asks if Alexis has something personal against her.
Alexis says that Carly is an insult to women, a mother devoid of any
giving instincts and a gold digging psychotic. The only decent thing she
ever did for Michael she is now trying to undo with the reckless abandon
of the gang that couldn't shoot straight and all because she found a
richer cash cow. She tells Carly that she chose this path. Should she
choose to stay on it, her son will never have to worry about depending on
her or ever seeing her again. Alexis says that this is definitely
personal. Personally, she wants Carly put back where she belongs. In the
mental ward at Ferncliffe.
Jason comes down stairs saying that Michael is asleep. He tells the Q's
that he will be back tomorrow to take Michael for a walk. AJ wants to put
a stop to Jason's visits immediately, but Carly disagrees. AJ tells Edward
that Alexis spooked Carly with a bunch of threats because she doesn't want
the case to go to trial. Carly says that she simply thinks that the longer
Michael is with them, the better their chances of having him adjust to his
surroundings. If they try to do too much too soon, they run the risk of
losing everything. Edward agrees with Carly thinking that the Q's
need to present a united front. AJ doesn't think that that will ever
happen. Edward thinks that time is on their side now that Sonny is back in
town. Jason, as Sonny's partner, will eventually show his true
colors. AJ is still adamant that the trial happen ASAP. If Alexis wants to
postpone the trial, than he wants the exact opposite. Carly is looking at
a Q family portrait when AJ comes into the room. He tells Carly that he is
sure he is right. They have to push the custody battle through as fast as
possible. Edward will just have to agree. Carly had dinner with AJ
and pledged her loyalty to him for the duration of the custody trial.
At GH, Bobbie sees Carly who is waiting for AJ who is talking to Tony
about the custody trial. Bobbie asks why AJ wants to talk to Tony and
Carly explains that AJ thinks he can help them. Bobbie looks surprised and
annoyed at Carly. Carly says it's not her idea, but Bobbie says that Carly
is just following what AJ wants as he gets ready to run over Jason in
court. They get into an argument. Carly asks why Bobbie is so mad when
she's just trying to make up for lying to AJ and that he's not so bad and
she should support him, but Bobbiepoints out that she's still lying to
him. Bobbie thinks that Carly is after AJ's money and talks about how she
married Stefan because she thought his money would give her security but
the marriage was a disaster and Lucas ended up getting hurt and so
will Michael. Carly thinks she knows what's best and that Michael belongs
with her and his father and that's how he'll be raised. Bobbie
is upset that Carly is trying to leave Jason out and says that the Qs will
offer a bad home for Michael. Carly slings back that Bobbie didn't care
when she was raised. Bobbie says that Carly has more going for her now
than Bobbie did when she gave Carly up for adoption, and Carly says
that she's taking care of her baby and staying with AJ is the best thing
to do. Bobbie says Carly won't be a good parent untill she can
separate what's good for Michael from what's good for her. Carly says she
knows what she's doing and that Bobbie only hears what she wants and that
Bobbie dodged a bullet by giving her up for adoption. Bobbie asks Carly
why she thinks Bobbie keeps trying and Carly tells herto stop trying.
Bobbie says she can't because she loves Carly and wants her to be happy
and she doesn't want Carly to have problems with Michael later in life
because she screwed up his childhood. Carly says that she doesn't blame
Bobbie for the way she is and that she says mean things because Bobbie
makes
her mad. Bobbie tells C she should just leave the Qs but Carly says they
won't let her, but Bobbie doesn't believe that AJ comes out from talking
with Tony and he and Carly invite Bobbie to visit Michael, and she says
she will and leaves. AJ tells Carly that Tony refused but that they'll
find another doctor and they leave.
Carly comes in; she and AJ talk about going out to dinner again. He
comments on how far their relationship has come, how they are trying to
get together as parents. She apologizes for asking him out, but then
having him pay for it. He tells her not to worry about talking about money
in this house. Carly is at the penthouse. Jason asks why she is
there, and if she needs money from him. She laughs that AJ gave her some
money. She says that she should be charging the Q's $1000 a day for
putting up with them. She says that the penthouse is a kind of haven for
her. Jason is pointedly ignoring her. He asks her finally what she wants.
She asks if psychiatrists can be bribed. She says that this custody trial
thing is going to be uglier than they thought. "Uglier than calling
me a kidnapper and a violent person?" She says for him just to say
that she was lying about him. She tells him that Tony is going to testify
to Jason's mental condition, saying that he is emotionally detached and
not capable of loving Michael. Carly asks if Jason is just giving up on
her. Jason says that if Alexis says that there is a doctor testifying
against him, he will find someone to testify for him. But it doesn't help
him to know ahead of time to know what AJ is doing. He tells her that she
is taking great risks coming there so often. She says that they all
hate her there, and tells him that Bobbie called her a gold digging
tramp. She wonders why she put up with all this. He says that he has no
choice but to go along with her plan, so why shouldn't he hate her
too? She is close to tears, telling him about seeing their future, the 3
of them. She asks if he believe her that they are a family. He says
that families don't always stay together. She says that she is trying her
best, the only way she knows how.
Carly is at Kelly's. She asks Tammy if she has seen AJ? Tammy warns her to
be careful on the docks. AJ is meeting up with his man. AJ hands him
money, and tells him not to think of blackmail. The man says that he is
not going to risk having Sonny and Jason as enemies. AJ says that if
anyone finds out that he hired him to torch the warehouse, there will be
hell to pay. Carly overhears AJ paying off the arsonist who torched Sonny
and AJ's warehouse! She makes noise, but doesn't get caught. The arsonist
leaves and she heads back to Kelley's where she's supposed to be metting
AJ. Carly returns to Kelly's and sees Bobbie there. They are cordial. She
sits to wait for AJ and asks Tammy not to tell him that she ever left the
restaurant. Tammy agrees. Carly tries to call Jason but gets his machine.
She's leaving him a message about how important it is that she talk
to him as AJ walks in. He asks what's so important (he doesn't realize the
message was for Jason) and she makes up a story about calling someone form
her design class.
AJ and Carly talk about the trial and he says that their growing closer
will help in getting custody. They go home and find Jason reading to
Michael. AJ is annoyed and Carly pretends to be. They say they don't like
Michael being woken up by Jason. Jason says he's not going to fight in
front of Michael and Carly agrees with him. So AJ starts arguing with her.
They agree to let Jason put Michael to bed since he's not crying for once.
Carly tries to get a minute alone with Jason to tell him about AJ
and the fire but she can't and she and AJ head to bed. Carly somes back
into the lving room and is trying to tell Jason about AJ, but just then AJ
walks in, so Carly acts like Jason was trying to get her back on his side.
AJ and Jason trade barbs, then Jason leaves. AJ demands to know what Jason
said, but Carly says it was the same old stuff but the look in Jason's
eyes scares her. AJ tells her not to worry and she says she won't.
While Sonny and Jason are meeting, Carly burst in demanding to know if
Jason is okay because she saw blood at the Quartermaine's after Jason left
last night. Jason assures her that he is fine and asks her to leave so
that he and Sonny can get on with there meeting. Carly then drops her
bombshell, she knows who torched the warehouse. it was A.J.!!! Sonny shows
her a picture of the arsonist and she confirms that he was the man A.J.
was meeting with on the docks. Sonny urges Jason to go to the judge with
this knowledge and says that Carly could testify and then Jason would get
Michael back. Carly freaks and says she can't testify. This leads to
another fight between Carly and Sonny. Sonny storms out of the penthouse
with the parting shot of not being able to stand being around Carly for
another second. Carly gets emotional about the fact that Jason hasn't told
Sonny about her plan. Jason tells her the only reason he didn't tell
Sonny was because the plan was so stupid Sonny wouldn't believe it! Carly
continues to believe the real reason is because Jason is so loyal to her.
Johnny announces the fact that A.J. is here to see Jason. Carly
escapes to hide upstairs and of course eavesdrop. A.J. purposes that he
and Jason stop the custody fight. A.J. assures Jason that he would allow
him visitation right until Michael no longer needed him and then Jason
could just fade away. Jason assures A.J. that there was no way that he
would agree. A.J. tells Jason he is being selfish and Jason tells A.J. to
get lost. A.J. leaves in a huff. Carly comes downstairs and she and Jason
talk about what an idiot A.J. is. They share a hug and some jokes on the
way out the door.
At the penthouse, Sonny is doing paperwork when Carly arrives. He tells
her that Jason is across the hall, but Carly says that she came to see
him. Sonny tells Carly that whatever she is selling, he isn't buying.
Carly says that she knows that Sonny hates her and she almost admires him
for that. She would hate anyone who did what Sonny thinks she did to
Jason. But he doesn't know the whole story. Jason didn't tell him because
he wouldn't betray her like that. Everything she has done has been for
Jason. She knows how much Jason and Michael love each other and she
wouldn't want anyone but Jason to be Michael's father. Unfortunately, AJ
has some legal rights so she had to come up with a creative idea of how to
keep Michael safe from AJ. She accused Jason of kidnapping Michael because
she wanted the Q's to trust her. Once they start to, she can get AJ to
marry her and she will live with him for a little while and then she is
going to ruin him. When he is destroyed and broken, she will file for sole
custody and bring Michael back to Jason. AJ won't ever be able to come
near Michael again. Carly asks Sonny if he can see now that they are on
the same side. Sonny tells Carly that this is the second time she has come
to him behind Jason's back and there won't be a third. Carly tells Sonny
that she knew he would twist anything she said to use against her. Jason
cares about him so much and she thought the least she could do is try to
explain for his sake. If Sonny is determined to hate her, that's fine. As
Carly starts to leave, Sonny asks if she is deluded enough to think that
Jason believes all of her crap.
Carly insists that Jason believes her and trusts her. Sonny says that
Jason thinks he owes her because she is Michael's mother. For Michael's
sake, Jason refuses to fight. Sonny says that he doesn't owe Carly a damn
thing except payback for using Jason. Carly angrily says that using Jason
is Sonny's game. Sonny is the one who stays in his safe penthouse while he
sends Jason out on the streets to get shot at and hassled by cops. Sonny
is the user. Sonny calmly, but coldly tells Carly that she shouldn't have
crossed him. He told her that before. Carly says that she isn't afraid of
him. Sonny tells her that she should be. Carly says oh yeah and
raises her hand to slap Sonny. Sonny grabs Carly's hand and holds her arms
down. As they continue to struggle, Jason arrives. Jason tells Sonny to
let Carly go. Sonny releases Carly and tells Jason that it is time to cut
the tramp loose. Carly tells Jason that she wanted to explain their plan
to Sonny. Jason tells Carly that she shouldn't have come. What's going on
with them has nothing to do with Sonny. Carly says that Sonny hates her
and she doesn't want him to turn Jason against her. Sonny tells Carly that
Jason can see for himself that she is nothing but a pimp for her own kid.
Jason calmly tells Sonny not to insult Carly in front of him. Then
he turns to Carly and tells her not to pull something like this again.
This has nothing to do with something. Carly leaves, but tearfully tells
Jason that everything she is doing is for the three of them.
Carly and AJ arrive at the PC Grille for dinner. Carly orders champagne
and AJ orders sparkling water. After the waiter leaves Carly tells
AJ that she could get used to the way the world treats her when she is
with him. People are nice to Jason because they are afraid of him, but
people are nice to AJ because they respect him. AJ is clearly flattered by
Carly's comments. Carly has once again been forced to eat fish while she
looks across the table longingly at AJ's steak. She thanks AJ for
suggesting the swordfish. AJ tells Carly that he talked to Tony again
about testifying. He doesn't want to hurt Tony, but he thinks it will help
Michael. Carly can't believe that she ever thought she loved Tony. AJ says
that in retrospect it seemed more like she was trying to please Tony.
Carly agrees with AJ's assessment saying she thought that was her place in
the world at the time. AJ tells her that her place now is with Michael and
the Q's. Hopefully someday she will feel like she belongs there too.
At Luke's, Carly and A.J. sit down to enjoy a night out. Carly is
delighted that A.J. appears to be enjoying himself, but she does not look
very content. When A.J. inquires as to why she doesn't like Luke's,
Carly admits that Luke used her maternity secret against her. Shortly,
Luke approaches the dining couple and gives them a bit of a difficult
time. Luke and Carly share shots while A.J. tries to lure Luke into
admitting that Jason is violent, but fortunately Luke does not fool
easily. After Luke leaves the table, A.J. and Carly talk and Carly
apologizes for not coming to A.J. in the beginning. A.J. says that he
cannot immediately forgive Carly, but that every time he looks at Michael,
she gets a step closer. Sonny, Jason, and Hannah walk into Luke's as Carly
watches with disdain. Carly expresses her disapproval to A.J. as Jason and
Hannah discuss the possibility of her working at Luke's. As Hannah
and Jake chat, Carly invites A.J. to dance and does not hesitate to get as
possible to the young Quartermaine in an attempt to make his brother
jealous. A.J. catches onto Carly and accuses her of putting on a show for
Jason, which Carly adamantly denies. Carly kisses A.J. and they leave the
club, much to the delight of Luke.
At the Quartermaine Mansion, Jason is playing with Michael in the living
room. Carly comes in with Leticia and sends Michael off on his walk to the
duck pond. With Michael barely out of the room Carly attacks, "Who
was that slut you were with last night?" When that doesn't get
a response from Jason, Carly says, "I had a horrible night. I had to
go out with A.J. I had to be harassed by Luke. You were flirting with
another women." Still, no real response from Jason. Carly then
deduces that Jason must be jealous. He tries to explain to Carly
that he was just helping Hannah out because she was new in town. Jason
tries to soothes Carly ruffled feathers. Carly assures Jason that Hannah
could only be jerking his chain and tells him he should be wary of female
strangers. Jason laughs at this and says that no one could jerk his chain
as badly as Carly herself does. Carly then reminisces about when she was
the new girl in town and she and Jason didn't need any words to
communicate. Leticia returns with Michael. While Jason plays on the floor
with Michael, Carly tries to probe into Jason's plans for the evening. He
insinuates that he will be at Luke's. After Jason leaves to give Michael
his treat, Carly calls A.J. and flirts her way into going back to Luke's
tonight. Carly and A.J. show up at Luke's. Carly watches as Hannah
and Jason chat. A pacifier falls out of Jason's pocket and Hannah is
curious. Jason tells her it belongs to his son. She tells him she loves
children and on her way back to work tells him she would love to
meet his son. Jason arrives at the Q's mansion to find Carly and Michael
playing together, Leticia takes Michael away. Carly then gets
in Jason's face to warn him about Hannah. After he leaves, Carly is in a
rage when AJ walks in to announce his departure for a few days on
business.
Carly meets Bobbie, and feeling sorry for herself focuses on being
abandoned and having no one on her side, then gets catty when Hannah
appears. Bobbie doesn't take it, and leaves her daughter in a snit. Later,
Carly invites Hannah to take it outside, and words soon come to blows as
they slap each other. Sonny and Jason break up the fight. Carly tells
Hannah to keep her hands off "my man" or she is going to die!
Sonny drags Hannah back inside Luke's while Jasosn and Carly talk outside.
Carly uses the old "someone has to look out for you" line to
justify her attack on Hannah. Jason reminds her that she in middle of her
plot to seduce AJ and that she should not be concerned if he wants to
flirt with anyone. Carly goes ballistic and tells Jason she carrying
out her plan for Jason; so that she, Michael, and he can be a family.
Carly says she and Michael can stay with the Q's if Jason doesn't like
her. Jason reminds Carly of all he has put of with and that he wouldn't do
it if he didn't like her. Carly says she needs to be reminded of that and
thanked for her efforts. Jason thanks for for the wonderful things she's
done, double crossing him, leaving him alone with Michael then giving him
to the Q's. Carly says she and Michael will be fine without him and storms
off for a total of about five feet. Carly walks back and berates Jason for
not chasing after her. Jason asks why Carly has to complicate everything.
He says that, yes, he likes her and reminds her of the things she's done
for him. He tells her that her plan to seduce and marry AJ will fail
because she always freaks out and screws things up. Jason begs Carly to
calm down for all their sakes. Jason takes Carly to the Q's and they talk
outside. Carly tells Jason she acts the way she does because she is afraid
Jason won't be waiting for her and Michael if her plan works. Jason
assures Carly that he is in it for the long haul. They agree that the
stakes
are high and hug. Carly initiates a kiss and Jason participates. Jason
yanks away from Carly's kiss and vanishes into the shrubbery just in time
to avoid being spotted by A.J.
Carly overhears a tearful Emily telling Jason it is not his fault. Carly
walks in and asks what they are talking about. She is told about Lucky's
death in the fire. She agrees with Emily that it is not Jason's fault, and
is even more sure when she finds out it was a fire. She heads downstairs
and calls police headquarters and asks for Taggert. Jason takes the phone
from her and hangs it up. He tells her they can't do this until they have
solid proof. Carly lets Jason know that if they can prove AJ started this
fire too, then she will get sole custody of Micheal. Jason quickly tells
her not to think anything good has come out of Lucky's death. Carly
is boldly going through A.J.'s briefcase in the Quartermaine living room
when he walks in catching her in the act. When he askes her what she is
doing she quickly covers by saying she is looking for the court order that
let's Jason see their son. She explains that she wants to see all the
details because she thinks anyone would think Jason is a danger to Michael
now that Lucky Spencer has died. Jason walks in as Carly is talking and
reinforces that he is allowed to see Michael whenever he wants as long as
he stays on the Quartermaine property. Carly insists that Jason is a
danger.
A.J. is condesendingly explaining the fine points of the court order to
Jason when Monica storms into the room. She insists they stop fighting,
what are they thinking when such a tragedy has come about? She is quick to
scold Carly saying that she should be with Bobbie at a time like this.
Edward and Alan come into the room agreeing with Monica and asking if
anyone has told Emily. Monica says that she's not in her room but Jason
reassures her that he told Em himself. A.J. says that they should be
lookin at what really is going on here, that Jason is why Lucky died.
Jason glares at him. Monica says that they are all upset but they
shouldn't be using Lucky's death to be tearing each other apart.
They should learn from it that life is short. Jason leaves in disgust.
Carly says that she is learning from it but her son's safety comes first.
She then replies sarcastically to Monica saying that she is SO sorry that
she has not contacted her own mother fast enough for her. A.J. defends
Carly saying that she has the right idea and then looks to Alan for
support and gets it. Edward says he doesn't know how he is going to tell
Lila and leaves the room with Alan and Monica in tow. A.J. turns to
Carly and says, "Looks like it's just the two of us." Carly only
looks slightly disgusted.
Jason and Michael are in the living room when Carly walks in. Jason scolds
her saying that she can't keep talking to him in the Q's house it was too
risky. Carly reassures him saying that everyone is gone. Carly starts
rambling on about how A.J. is evil and a murderer but Jason quickly stops
her saying that she shouldn't talk that way in front of Michael. Carly
grudgingly agrees but says that she can promise Michael that he will never
have to see A.J. again after all this is over but Jason disagrees saying
that she can't be sure.
Bobbie and Carly are cleaning up after everyone has left the reception
(after Lucky's funeral). Carly is surprised to learn that Bobbie hasn't
told Lucas about Lucky yet. Bobbie admits that it was a huge mistake, but
she can't find a way to tell Lucas until someone can tell her in a way
that makes sense. Carly says that she is going to finish cleaning up and
then get out of Bobbie's way, but Bobbie asks her to please stay. Lucas is
her brother after all. Carly is uncomfortable and says that she isn't good
at death. Bobbie understands, but asks that she stay anyway for her. Carly
agrees to stay and then asks why everyone in her family keeps dying before
she gets a chance to know them. Bobbie suggests that there may be a lesson
in that somewhere if Carly is willing to listen. Carly begrudgingly
accepts that Bobbie may be right. Carly tells Bobbie that no matter what,
she has never regretted a moment spent with Bobbie. Carly is
surprised when Jason's visits. Carly relates to Jason how Lucas is
handling his grief over Lucky's death. Lucas does not believe Lucky is
dead. She tells Jason that she had a relatively good childhood compared to
other children. Jason is worried that by putting Michael and his
well-being first, he may not be "taking care of business" the
way he used to. Carly says that she would just die if anything happened to
Michael.
Meanwhile just out in the doorway area, Carly is on the phone trying to
reach Jason. She hears AJ coming in and tells Benny to tell him she called
and hangs up quickly. She then runs and grabs her notebook and pretends
that she is writing something down inside of it. AJ comes in the door and
asks Carly if she would like to play hooky from class tonight. Carly makes
an excuse to avoid another dinner date with AJ and tells him that
she has a very important class today that will be talking about
dimensional designing and she needs to be there. AJ understands and says
he’ll take a rain check. Carly then tells him that she has played
with Michael all day and now he is asleep. AJ tells her that he’ll check
up on Michael after he drops her off at class. Nervous, Carly tells him he
doesn’t have to do that, because she has already called a cab and
besides he just got home from a hard day at work. AJ falls for it
and tells her he’ll see her when he gets back. Carly leaves. Outside,
she is pleased that she was able to fool AJ again. Shortly afterwards,
Edward comes home, telling AJ that all his calls to the judge have worked
against them, because they have now moved up the court date, and the
judge that they were suppose to have reside over this matter is unable to
fit their court date in his schedule. AJ is pleased, because that is what
he has wanted. Edward warns AJ that they have just one short week to prove
that he is the best father for Michael and that he and Carly are the
perfect parents.
Carly slipped into Jason's bedroom and wanted to make love with him.
Seeing that Jason is in the shower, Carly stages a seduction scene
designed to snare Jason. She then unbuttons her shirt a bit and strikes a
seductive pose on the bed. Jason comes out of the shower, wearing only a
towel, surprised to see her sitting there. Carly says, “Surprised?"
She then tells Jason that she can’t stop thinking about him. He asks her
what is she doing here. She tells him it’s okay that AJ thinks she’s
at school and then seductively walks over to him and tells him that she
knows he wants her too. Jason admits to Carly that although sex would be
nice it will have a negative affect on the Michael situation. Later, AJ
shocks Carly with a candlelit room and an engagement ring. Carly questions
whether AJ's motives that she knows he isn't in love with her. AJ doesn't
tell her he loves her but does say they are connected because of Michael
and he wants to feel connected. He has a son and a family that he can
build his life around and that is what he has been missing. He tries to
entice her that she can't imagine the doors that will open for her as his
wife. She suggests he now try telling her the truth, that he wants Michael
and marrying her is the price he has to pay.
Jason walks in on his nightly trip to see Michael, after Carly eyes Jason
she accepts AJ's proposal. The Q's come back from the play and AJ informs
them all of the new adition to the family, Edward is happy and Alan seems
to be OK with the idea. However Emily and Monica have a bit of a problem
with it, Carly leaves them to there discussion and goes upstairs to see
Micheal and Jason. Jason tells her she got what she wanted so there should
be no problem. Edward requests the AJ have Carly sign a Pre- Nuptual
agreement. Carly tells Bobbie about her upcoming wedding. Bobbie suspects
that Carly has a hidden agenda where AJ was concerned. Bobbie knows that
Carly loves Jason, not AJ. Carly considered revealing the full details of
her plan to destroy AJ to Bobbie, but decided against it.
Carly runs into Jax on his way into visiting Bobbie, tells Jax about her
engagement. She enters Kelly's to find Bobbie kissing Jerry and gives her
a hard time about kissing in such a public place. Then she finds out that
Hannah is living over Kelly’s and chases her down. Carly proceeds to
give Hannah a hard time, basically stating she owns Jason. The fight
between these two is priceless! As Hannah walks away, Jason comes running
up with the drugs he found in the coffee at the warehouse (someone trying
to set him up), throws the drug packate to Carly and tells her to flush
them. Carly runs off, then Jason notices Hannah saw him, and up run the
cops to arrest him. Carly gets home and just wants to dump the drugs, but
the Q's want her to practice her testimony. She is acting really jumpy.
She gets upstairs, and when she’s about to dump the drugs, AJ walks in.
AJ tells her he has a present for her, new clothes for court. She tries to
get rid of him while she changes and when he walks out of the room, we
hear a flush.
Edward enters the Q living room announcing Jason’s arrest, Carly
standing on the stairs listening to Edward’s victory speech. AJ, Carly,
Emily, Monica, Alan, Jason, Bobbie and Tony all took the stand for
Michael's custody hearing. Carly jumped to Jason's defense after harsh
treatment from AJ's lawyer. After Carly's outburst at the trial, the judge
warns Jason that he is only to answer to the attorneys or the judge.
Alexis puts Jason on the stand and has him explain hisrelationship with
Michael. He says he promised Michael to love him and that he can teach and
explain things to Michael so that he can understand. Then Alexis asks him
to refute the statement by AJ that he has made it so that Michael only
depends on him. Jason denies that, stating that Michael also feels very
comfortable with Bobbie and Emily. Before the judge convenes court, he
explains that his decision will be based on what is best for Michael
Morgan. Alexis reassures Jason that he was a good witness and Jason
thanks Bobbie and Emily for their support. Back at the Q's, Bobbie arrives
to speak to Carly privately and tells her she realized she was upset that
Jason may lose custody. Jason rushes in and races up the stairs. Later,
Carly joins Jason and Baby Michael in his room.
#9B Chloe is witness to a typical Quartermaine bloodletting over the
custody trial. Later, Edward gives A.J a prenuptial agreement to present
to Carly. He declines to do so now, but accidentally leaves it where Carly
can find it. Carly reads it and is livid. Carly refused to sign AJ's
pre-nup, and was doubtful about Bobbie's plans for a bridal shower, she
points out that no one Bobbie would invite actually likes Carly.
Bobbie’s baby shower for Carly except Carly really doesn’t know any of
the guests! Carly opens her shower presents. First present:
from“Leticia and Mr. Morgan” is a stuffed giraffe and a book about
Africa. Chloe and Felicia keep a running under their breath commentary as
the afternoon proceeds. Next up, from V, a plastic rock-and-roll guitar,
for Michael too, we assume. Isn’t this supposed to be a bridal shower?
Monica gave her a child's silver mug, Carly's super-appropriate
response, “Oh.” Felicia’s gift, toy dump trucks. Chloe gave a pair
of cute silver-spangle overalls for Michael. She didn’t realize it was a
baby shower. (Carly’s response, I didn’t either, but thanks to all for
thinking of us.) Finally, Emily’s present is trashy lingerie, so AJ
would get his money’s worth on their wedding night. Bobbie reprimands
Emily, and Carly starts in on her, and Monica defends Emily. Carly has had
enough, and storms out of the room, telling everyone exactly what they can
do with their gifts.
Carly tells Jason the story of the shower. She talks about how awful Emily
was. Jason warns her to be careful with his sister. They then discuss the
pre-nup. Carly points out that if she signs too easliy, AJ might think
something is up. Phone rings, the verdict is in. Courtroom:
"Custody hearings are never easy," says the judge. He goes on to
say that AJ and Carly have fufilled the requirements of
guardianship, and he is awarding them primary custody of their son. Edward
erupts in glee while Jason looks on, devestated. Judge orders Edward to
sit and calls for order. He qualifies his earlier ruling with the addition
that Jason be given partial custody, including but not limited to three
nights a week. He then goes on to remind them that they are family, and
for Michael's sake, suggests they act like one. The Q's leave, upset,
while Emily embraces Jason.
Back at the manor: Carly returns AJ's ring, telling him she's not going to
hold him to a promise hemade her just to get sole custody of their son. He
reassures her that he wants to marry her because she's Michael's mother
and the three of them can be a family. She takes the ring back, and he
kisses her. A.J. suprises Carly by asking her to move up the wedding. He
wants to be married at the mansion in a week. Carly is suspicious of his
motives, but he tells her that he only wants what is best for Michael.
Carly tells him she still has a problem with the prenuptial agreement,
A.J. tells her not to worry, he will handle Edward. Carly finally agrees
to move up the wedding. Later Jason arrives to pick up Michael. He offers
to help A.J. get close to Michael to make the child feel more comfortable
living there. A.J wants no part of Jason's help. Jason expects Leticia to
go with him and Michael, but Reginald interceeds on her behalf. He
explains that she needs to have regular days off, and would like to take
those days when Jason takes Michael. He also explains that she would like
to take those days off at the mansion. Jason congratulates Reginald on
what appears to be a budding romance.
Carly looks over Chloe's dress sketches and asks Edward's opinion to which
one he likes best. He tells her any will look lovely on her and asks about
the prenuptial agreement. Carly begins to act vague and says they are so
confusing she's not sure she understands them. Edward tells her they
are just a bunch of legal things and that she really doesn't have to waste
her time reading them and just to sign. AJ enters to have Edward explain
that Carly has agreed to the Prenuptial after he represents it to her.
Edward then leaves the two alone. AJ is surprised to hear that Carly has
agreed. Carly explains that she didn't agree she just didn't give Edward a
hard time about it because she knows how hard it is for AJ when she does.
AJ tells her that she has only made things more complicated by not being
forthright. Carly offers to put off the wedding until the matter can be
resolved to which AJ says it's not that important and they need to start
planning the honeymoon. At the ELQ board meeting, Sonny
demands Carly leave which really ticked her off.
Bobbie and Jerry arrive at the Q's just after AJ and Carly have made their
big entrance at their engagement party. Carly is clearly thrilled to see
Bobbie and greets her with a big hug. Bobbie compliments Carly's dress
while Carly explains that it is one of Chloe's designs. AJ tells Bobbie
that he intends to make Carly and Michael very happy. As they continue to
talk, Edward interrupts to make the first toast of the evening to AJ and
Carly. He starts a couple of times and can't think of anything to say.
Later in the hall, Emily and Liz run into Carly on their way upstairs.
Carly graciously thanks Liz for coming. She tells Liz that she was very
moved by what she said at Lucky's memorial service. She doesn't know Liz
very well, but she will never forget what she said. Emily is furious with
Carly and tells her that she has no right to speak on behalf of any of the
Spencer's especially to Liz. Liz tries to make Emily be quiet, but there
is no stopping Emily. Carly starts to insist that she was only trying to
be nice, but Emily leaves dragging an embarrassed Liz with her. Liz
politely thanks Carly as Emily drags her up the stairs. Carly is
alone in the foyer when she hears a knock on the door. When the ever
absent Reginald fails to appear she exasperatedly opens the door herself.
She is not happy to see Luke and Felicia. She tells Luke that she happens
to know that his name was not on the guest list. Felicia explains that her
name is and that Luke is her guest. Carly sarcastically reminds them that
they are married to other people which causes Luke and Felicia to laugh
hysterically. Luke assures Carly that he is only there as the proud uncle.
Carly asks how a sweet woman like Bobbie ended up related to trash like
him. Luke smiles and says that thousands have asked that question, but
noone has come up with an answer. He then excuses himself and asks Felicia
if she would like to join the party.
After they go, Carly goes into the library to regain her composure. Edward
comes down the stairs and runs into AJ who is looking for Carly. He asks
AJ how he is doing on the prenuptial front. AJ says that Carly is coming
around. Neither man is aware that Carly can overhear what they are saying.
AJ goes on to reassure Edward that by the time the wedding rolls around,
Carly will sign anything to become Mrs. Quartermaine. As they leave, a
tearful Carly walks out the front door. Carly has arrived at Jason's and
is greeted by Johnny who compliments her appearance. She starts to ramble
about her dress being a designer original and then stops and says that she
just wanted to visit Michael. She walks into Jason's apartment and is
furious when she discovers Hannah holding Michael. Michael is
fussing and saying "Mama, Mama, Mama" as Carly is ready to
explode because Hannah is holding him. Jason tells Hannah to bring Michael
over to Sonny's. Carly wants Jason to bring Hannah back so she can kill
her. Carly asks why all of the things she got for Jason's place have been
replaced. She asks Jason if it was his plan to betray her by getting
partial custody and then eliminating her from his life. Calling Hannah a
tramp, she asks if she has moved in with Jason and is Michael
calling her Mommy yet. Jason gives her his look. Finally, he explains that
Hannah is helping him and he doesn't have to justify it to Carly. He isn't
betraying her. Carly objects to Hannah's redecorating, but Jason says it
was because of the sharp edges. Now it's safer for Michael. Carly refers
to the place as "our home" and Jason corrects her. He says it's
not "our" home or "her" home. It's his and
Michael's. He reminds her that she took Michael to the one place he
didn't want him to ever live, the Q's. Carly assumes that Jason is
sleeping with Hannah. He says that who he sleeps with is none of her
business. He reminds her that she is welcome to stay there. She taunts him
about her life with AJ and then decides she really doesn't have to ruin
AJ's life to have a life with Michael and Jason. She continues to
rant and rave about Hannah and then decides that if she lived with Jason
and Michael and "the bimbo", it would be just like when she
lived with Robin. She now decides she will marry AJ, wait for Jason to get
into trouble with Sonny, divorce AJ and have enough money to live anywhere
in the world with Michael. She won't live with Jason and his
"slut."
Carly sneaks back into the mansion. As she is fixing her face, AJ comes in
and says "thanks for showing up at your own engagement
party." She makes up a story saying that she always dreamed of a life
like this and when she realized tonight that it was coming true, she
started crying because she was overwhelmed. To avoid embarrassing the
family, she went to the boat house. She cries through this whole story. AJ
believes her and hugs her. Jason returns to the mansion where there is a
cute scene with Jason and Michael. Its one of those great natural moments
where Michael grabs Jason's nose and grunts "naaa" and Jason
says "yes, that's my nose" after which the baby
immediately goes for Jason's eye and says "eye" and then baby
swings his hand onto Jason's head and so on. Jason then takes a flower out
of an arrangement for the baby to smell.
AJ asks Carly to sign the pre-nup for the sake of their family, that
he is doing this to impress Edward and it will strengthen AJ's position in
the family. Carly admits to Bobbie that she loves Jason but he only sees
her as a friend and that AJ wants her. Later Bobbie gives Carly a
lace hanky with her soon to be new initials embroidered on it. Lila also
drops by to welcome Carly to the family and gives a gift of
"something old, something new, something borrowed, something
blue" all wrapped into one: a diamond & sapphire necklace and
earring set. Carly looks beautiful in a strapless gown with a satin bodice
and full skirt made of layers of tooling. The music plays, the
guests stand and Carly makes her entrance. She looks very nervous and
starts to walk up the aisle. Carly made a beautiful bride as she and AJ
were married. She refused to sign the pre-nup though. Katherine
gives Carly a gift certificate for a makeover at the Deception Spa. She
advises Carly to make something of herself. Otherwise she'll always be
known as a former Quartermaine wife. Carly looks nervous as AJ tells her
that he has booked the honeymoon suite at the Port Charles hotel for the
night. He would have liked to take her somewhere further but he knew that
she'd worry what Jason might do with Michael if they left town. Emily
tells Carly that she looks beautiful but Carly doesn't take the compliment
graciously and responds with a snide remark expecting Emily is being
sarcastic. Bobbie whisks Carly away and Emily tells AJ she loves him and
will try to be nicer to Carly. AJ knows Carly has a long memory and won't
make it easy for Emily. As the guests start to leave en masse, Bobbie
beckons them back so that Carly can throw her bouquet. She throws
the bouquet and V catches it. Everyone starts to leave again.
Carly tells Bobbie that they make not like her, but they can't ignore her
now that she's Carly Quartermaine. They depart
in a shower of rice.
At their honeymoon suite, Carly doesn't want AJ to carry her over the
threshhold. AJ pours her some champagne, makes a toast and talks about the
rest of the evening. Carly looks worried and uncomfortable. When AJ takes
a shower, Carly pours half the bottle in a flower arrangement and lies
down on the bed, pretending to be asleep. Then it dawns on her that AJ may
try to undress her. She looks in the bag that AJ had the maid pack for her
and she discovers a sexy nightgown. She writes a note and leaves it
for AJ and slips out of the room. AJ comes out of the shower and finds
Carly's note. It says: AJ Don't hate me. I'll explain later. Carly. Carly
knocks at Jason's door. No answer. She lets herself in and calls out
Jason's name. She picks up the framed photo of Jason, Michael and
herself and gets all misty. She goes to the sofa, puts on Jason's jacket
and lies down.
Carly flashes back to the night of her engagement party and an argument
she had with Jason in which she threatened him by saying that she'll just
wait for the next time he gets thrown in jail, and she and AJ will sue for
full custody of Michael. Jason just looks bored. Back in the present, she
curls up on the sofa (in his jacket) and falls asleep and begins having
one of the best dreams in GH history. Carly wakes up to a banging at the
door. Surprise! Surprise! It's AJ, and not too thrilled to have found his
bride in his brother's apartment. "Let me explain, AJ." He
says, "...I come out of the shower to find my wife gone, what do you
call that? Foreplay?" Carly claims she didn't feel well and
Jason has these pills from Europe. AJ surprisingly doesn't buy this.
He claims he has figured out her plan, even if Carly hasn't (yet). Marry
him, drive him back to the bottle, divorce him, get a huge settlement,
take Michael and go back to Jason. AJ throws Hannah at Carly and then
makes a dig about the new decor. AJ says he still wants Carly and grabs
her. She pushes him away. He starts threatening and then dredges up
what she was like before she moved in with Tony. Within seconds, AJ
is in his bathrobe and she is naked before him. She says, "Would you
like to have sex with me?" and he says, "In Jason's apartment?
Ooooo, yeah..." She says, "On the couch, the rug?"
"Both."
The next dream scene ospen in the Q's foyer. Carly comes downstairs in a
Lady Diana type suit and a pillbox hat. Emily is already there, sporting a
skimpy outfit and a fur coat. Carly demands she remove the coat, as it is
hers. Emily says not any more, since you left it at Jason's, he decided to
give it to me. (Emily's promise to be "nice" notwithstanding).
Before long, they are sniping at each other. Emily makes a comment about
the way Carly is dressed and Carly says she's dressed that way for
AJ. Then Carly begs Emily to take her with her, Emily just leaves.
Carly can hear Monica and Alan fighting from the living room. The subject
of course, is AJ's marriage to Carly. Alan says it is Monica's fault
AJ married Carly, because, as everyone knows, men marry women who remind
them of their mothers . Monica demands a divorce and Carly bursts in and
says they are nothing alike because, unlike Monica, she is a devoted
mother. Monica's reply: "Put a sock in it!" Carly flounces out
of the room and runs into AJ, who looks her up and down then hauls out a
tape measure to gauge the distance from floor to hemline, and proclaims
her skirt 1/2" too short.
After a discussion about her "great" legs (only for him..) she
complains of queasiness and says she'll feel better if she takes Michael
for a walk. AJ says she's only allowed to wave at him twice a day, because
she's a psychopath, it's in the Prenup. Then Edward comes in with
The Prenup, quoting chapter and verse and claiming she signed it. Carly
protests that it must have been a forgery, and in rolls Lila and says that
Edward forged HER name on their Prenup. After laughing at Carly for
a while, AJ says, "If my wife was any dumber, we'd have to water her."
Then Dr. Smithson comes out of the hall closet and says she and her
husband have been waiting for an excuse to send Carly back to
Ferncliff. AJ hands her a wad of cash and says, "Don't take her
now, but don't go far away!" Fade to Commercial. Carly comes
downstairs in another hat and dowdier suit. Emily and some Jason-type hunk
are playing pool in the foyer. Emily is playing the old Carly to the hilt,
i.e., hasn't told Mr. Studly her name. Emily makes a
comment about Carly's taste and they depart for Jake's. Carly picks up a
pool cue and starts to play, when a 7-ish redheaded child comes into the
room and tells her off. "Michael?" He says she must
be mistaken.
Then AJ walks in and says it IS Michael, they've just changed his name to
AJ III (Tray). The kid is a dyed-in-the-wool brat. Edward enters and waxes
poetic about the imminent arrival of Jason. Tray says, "Excuse me, I
want nothing to do with that brain damaged thug who kept me away from my
father for over a year." AJ beams and offers the kid
$1000. Tray asks if he can buy another tie for his collection, and by the
way, has he mentioned lately that it's a privilege to bear his father's
name? Carly is dismayed. The doorbell rings and Edwards answers (as
Reginald and Letitia have eloped!). Jason and Hannah enter, warmly
welcomed by Edward. Hannah offers to slap that stupid hat off Carly's
head. She and Jason start kissing in front of everyone, then Jason
introduces her as "Hannah, my fiancée."
Again, Carly is dismayed, and Edwards starts drooling. Carly and Hannah
begin another slagging match. Carly says, "Jason may marry you, but
he'll never father your children!" (a really stupid line, IMHO). Voilà!
Hannah is 9 months preggers. Edward is still fawning. Jason says the
baby will be called Michael and throws Carly'smotives back at her. Ned
arrives and announces that there's no more Q fortune to fight about, and
that when AJ became CEO of ELQ he pulled his money out of the
company and invested elsewhere. The doorbell rings, it's a
collection agency, two burly men try to pry Carly's diamond rings off her
fingers. Fade to commercial. Everyone's at Kelly's. Carly is hauling in
the bags. Kelly's is under new management, and no one knows who the new
management is. Edward reminds everyone that it's traditional for the Q's
to take up residence at Kelly's every time they lose their fortune. AJ
plants a big wet one on Carly and tells her to rest up, it's going to be a
LONG night (wink wink nudge nudge).
The new owner walks in. It's Sonny "the smarmy hoodlum"
(Edward's words). He throws them out. Carly whines, "My mom would
never sell this place..." and right on cue, in walks Bobbie. Bobbie
announces that she has no time to run the place since she wants to spend
every moment with her grandson. Carly is thrilled! Edward comments that AJ
III is depriving some village out there of an idiot. In walk Hannah and
Jason with their own Michael. Bobbie exclaims, "There's my newest
andfavourite grandson!" As she and Hannah have gotten so close,
Bobbie has adopted her. Hannah is more interesting, prettier, more fun to
spend time with, and they never argue! Carly begs Jason to step in and
convince Sonny to let them stay, he begins listing all the people who are
more important to him than her. Sonny caves, on the condition that the
whole family works for room and board. Edward suggests Carly does the work
for everyone. Carly is scrubbing floors to pay off the food being eaten by
Edward and his son Alan and the other son, Alan. They are picking on Carly
when a 12-ish redheaded kid (Tray) arrives, whining about how a violet
anti-social damaged criminal beat him up. Carly says, "Jason beat you
up??"
In walks the other Michael, all done up like his daddy. Everyone agrees
that everything wrong is Carly's fault. Tray wouldn't be a spineless
weasel if only Carly had brought him back to Jason as planned. Then Bobbie
and Hannah (dressed in mother-daughter outfits) haul in a giant
cocktail shaker full of money to bail the Q's out of their mis-fortune.
Edward comes out of the kitchen saying, "Is that money I smell?"
Hannah hands bunches of it out to everyone except Carly. Bobbie and Hannah
go off for amother-daughter facial at Deception and Monica begs Jason to
take her with him. He agrees if she promises not to speak to him (Carly
has given him a headache). Monica is just grateful tobe in Jason's
presence. Everyone leaves to count the money and divide it
"equally". Sonny orders Carly to scrub the floors and get the
gum out from under the counter. Fade to commercial.
Back in the foyer. In another staid suit, in comes Emily, on her way to
Las Vegas. Carly wants to go with her. She says, "You're living my
live and I want it back!" Gum cracking, Emily says, "Even if I
wanted to, those clothes..." Carly offers to put on some of her old
clothes. "Can't", cracks Emily. "It's in the Prenup!"
She departs. Carly enters the living room, thinking she sees AJ slumped on
the floor drinking. It's a "grown up" Tray, chugging Vodka
straight from the bottle. AJ arrives with a full case, claiming
Michael's first year with Jason ruined him. AJ offers to make new
babies and grabs Carly. She runs from the room, and can't get the front
door open. Finally it comes free, but the force fells her and she looks up
to see Jason and the "real" baby Michael. Jason holds his hand
out to her to help her up. Carly wakes up to find Jason with her, she hugs
him for all he's worth in her happiness that it was all a dream. She
says well, it's worked, she has AJ but she doesn't want him. Jason thinks
that she never went through with the wedding and wants to know what she
said to AJ. She says I left him a note saying that she'd explain
later. He said, "AJ's ok with that?" Eventually she gets through
to him that she actually did marry him, sans Prenup. The final scene is
her standing there in that way she does, smirk firmly placed...
"Well, what are we going to do now?"
Carly turned to Jason for support and admitted she might not be able to go
through with her plan. Carly returned to AJ expecting the worst and made
up a story about her whereabouts. Carly was then greatly relieved when AJ
said he would give her some space and maintained that they needed to get
to know each other better before becoming intimate. Carly is getting
Michael ready for bed. She asks Michael if he could maybe call for his
Mommy in the middle of the night. She tries to explain, like a one year
old could really understand, that when she married AJ she knew she would
have to do certain things she didn't want to do. She asks Michael if
he could help her out.
At the Q's, Carly walks into the study and sees AJ. She cheerfully greets
him with a "hi honey, you're home". Carly asks AJ if he wants to
say goodnight to Michael, but AJ says that he will check on him when he
and Carly go to bed. Carly tells AJ that Michael is still settling in and
they need to make him feel like the mansion is a home. AJ says that Carly
must feel the same way. AJ tells Carly that it is really nice to have
something to come home too. Carly acts delighted at the nicety and smiles
as AJ leans in to kiss her. AJ tells her that that doesn't mean that they
have to stay home. Carly is delighted at the prospect of going out
and thanks AJ with another kiss. AJ starts to get a little more
passionate when Chloe and V appear unexpectedly and apologize for
interrupting the intimate moment. Carly is a little too ecstatic when she
tells them that it is really not a problem. She encourages everyone
to go to Luke's with her.
They walk past Jason on their way to a table, but Chloe stops to introduce
herself. She tells Jason that she is happy to finally meet him. She
has heard so many wonderful things about him from Emily. She politely
invites Jason to join them, but he just as politely declines. Chloe starts
to leave but stops to ask Jason if he has an opinion on the land sea
crane issue. Jason tells her that when in doubt, she should vote with
Sonny. If Sonny isn't available then she should vote with Ned. Jax and AJ
aren't trustworthy. Chloe laughs and thanks Jason for
advice then goes to join the others. The group chats for a bit then AJ
invites Carly to dance. Carly happily agrees but looks at Jason over AJ's
shoulder while they dance. Carly pulls AJ closer to her while
they dance as Jason stands at the bar drinking a beer and watching. The
diamond on her finger glitters magnificently in the light as she strokes
the back of AJ's neck. AJ and Carly are looking mighty cozy, and
Jason isn’t impressed. Carly looks like she wants to jump out of her
skin every time he touches her. Bobbie drops by Jason and thanks him for
everything he’s done and given up for Carly and little Michael.
Hannah runs to Luke’s and tells Jason that Sonny has been arrested. At
the police station, Alexis' way out the door, she tells Jason to get
out of there and don’t look back. Jason goes to Sonny offering to
help, and Sonny refuses. AJ gets Carly home alone and they start to
talk and relax a bit, joking about their somewhat wild pasts. The phone
rings and Ned asks for some ELQ papers right away.
Jason, Carly, and Michael are playing on a swingset in the park. Jason
mocks Carly's plan. Carly ends up tickling Jason, then suddenly runs
and leaps over the bushes to hide when she hears AJ's voice. He chastises
Jason for putting Michael in a swing that's too large, then whines to
Jason about how today is the first meeting of "Toddler Time with
Daddy," and can he pretty please have Michael for the afternoon?
"Let me get this straight: You signed up for a class to learn
how to play with Michael?" Jasons asks. Jason gives him Michael for
the afteroon. Much later, after it is already dark, Jason and Carly are
still in the park, talking by the swings. Jason ends up pushing Carly on
the swing.
A.J. shows Carly a sketch of the dress Chloe is working on for their
entrance into Port Charles society at the Nurses Ball. They kiss a lot and
it's obvious that Carly is really not enjoying it. She then heads over to
Jason's to get the diamonds that he gave her in order to wear them
with her new dress. Carly makes her entrance dressed for the Nurse's
Ball. AJ notices the diamonds that Jason gave her and demands she
take them off. He then gives Carly diamond jewelry he bought for her. The
Q's just stand around and watch in amazement. There's a whole segment done
with "Rock this Town" playing throughout. We see all the couples
already mentioned plus Mac and Felicia, Emily and Jason, and Nik and
Liz, all the Q's. Most of the women spin around to showcase their
gowns.
After Lucy announces Amanda's generous contribution, she speaks about
an anonymous contribution made in Robin's name. The camera shows
Felicia looking at a choked-up Mac and Emily looking at Jason. Lucy
introduces the Q men (AJ, Edward, Alan and Ned) who do "I Feel
Good" accompanied by four female dancers. The men all wear sunglasses
and blue satin shirts.During a break in the entertainment, Edward has his
own announcement. AJ is now CEO of ELQ. Carly is thrilled. Mike expresses
concern to Jason that Sonny is out in public without a bodyguard. Jason
tells him not to worry. Carly tells Bobbie about AJ's CEO
appointment. Amanda asks Carly if she can recommend her name for the
Charity Guild. The crowd is a little in shock as they see Bobbie and
Jerry in all their glory during Emily's video. Then, most people start to
snicker as they watch, especially when Amy hits the FF button and Bobbie
and Jerry get undressed at a record speed. Carly and Amanda are
horrified. When Bobbie and Jerry return, everyone stares at them
silently. Carly takes Bobbie back outside . We don't hear Carly telling
Bobbie what happened, but we pick up when she is telling Bobbie that
she has to get out of there. Bobbie says she's not leaving as she is
performing next.
The next musical number is "Jump, Jive and Wail". Performing are
Tony, Mac, Felicia, Bobbie, Mike, Eve and Chris along with about eight
dancers. The crowd gets a big kick out of this number. They all looked
like they were having a lot of fun and it was a kick to see Bobbie dancing
again. Jason lets Sonny and Hannah know they should use the service
entrance to leave. Emily and Ned sing "Forever Young"
while we see quilts of many AIDS victims. Jason looks sad and
pensive during their song. Ned encourages the audience to join them and
they all sing along. It was a sweet, sad number. Outside, Carly is
humiliated and crying. Jason tries to comfort her. When he hears AJ
calling Carly's name, he hides. AJ takes Carly back to the Ball.
Carly is relieved that Amanda spoke to her after the tape was shown.
When Emily tells Jason that she told someone how Sonny was leaving through
the kitchen, Jason goes running off. Sonny and Hannah are walking
through the kitchen, talking and laughing, unaware that they are being
followed by Juan. Jason charges through a door and attacks Juan. Juan asks
what he's doing and says "my business is with him," indicating
Sonny. Sonny notices the necklace Juan is wearing. Sonny says it belonged
to his wife and asks how Juan got it. Juan answers "you gave it to
me." Jason brings Emily home and she is telling him how awful she is
feeling. That she cause so many problems tonight. Jason gives her some
money to go buy Carly a nice present that girls would like. Emily asks if
she should buy Sonny a present too since she feels bad about him as well.
He smiles and tells her no, that he would speak to Sonny.
Alan, Edward, AJ & Carly get home from the Nurses' Vall and talk to
Lila for a bit before heading to bed. Carly apologizes to Lila, thinking
that people are going to laugh at the Quartermaines because of the tape of
Bobbie that was played at the Ball. Upstairs, Carly is taking off her
jewelry as AJ comes in. She supports him about tomorrow being the first
day as CEO of the company. AJ thinks she is wonderful to be thinking of
him when she is so upset. AJ tells Carly that from the first time he saw
her he saw himself, someone that didn't fit in no matter how hard she
tried. Says that even when she was scheming against him he was cheering
for her, that he has the wife that he wants, he says when he say his
future he saw what they have now. He tells her that together they can do
anything. AJ and Carly kiss and he starts to undress her, asks if she
wants him to stop and she says no. Jason is watching them from the window.
Carly gets up, leaving AJ in her bed and goes and sits on a chair. She
looks at AJ then at a picture of her and Jason. AJ tries his best to
comfort Carly which leads to them making love. Jason goes up to Carly's
room thinking to console her, only to see that his brother is doing just
fine.
Later, Carly visits Jason at the warehouse. Carly teases him about
sounding so authoritative. Jason asks Carly why she is there. Carly
replies that she just wanted to say thank you. Carly thanks Jason for
coming to find her at the nurse's ball. It was really nice. She tells
Jason that AJ was surprisingly nice also. He was really trying to help.
She has every reason to hate AJ, but sometimes he can be really nice. Like
he cares. It can be sort of confusing. Jason says that he understands. He
knows this girl who blackmailed him and than asked him for help and then
did everything she could to stand in his way. She even went behind
his back and told the cops he was a kidnapper. Carly feigns shock and asks
if he ever hated her. Jason smiles and asks if she really wants him to
think about that. Carly says that she really did hate AJ, but since
they've been married, he's been really nice. She then blurts out that she
slept with him. She assures Jason that it meant nothing.
Jason is initially non-committal about Carly's news. Carly wants more from
Jason about his feelings. Jason - "Why now?" Carly discovers
that Jason came by to check on her that night as saw her with AJ. Carly
still wants Jason to stop her from being with AJ. She says that after the
fiasco of the Nurses Ball, she just wanted some comfort, but once the deed
was done, that was all it felt like, not like it would be with Jason.
Jason says Carly doesn't need his opinion, "What do you want from
me?!" She wants to keep her friend. They have the usual
agreement about goals and methods. Jason says the only way to fix
things is to just get out now. Carly says it's gone to far. Carly stumbles
on her way out, Jason catches her: she's crying, they hold each other,
touch each other's face, but Jason ends up pulling away and gently sending
Carly home. Later, we see Jason remembering himself comforting Carly at
the Nurses Ball, and we see Carly sitting sadly in a garden somewhere.
