#7A
Jason visits Carly in jail and tells her Tony is still alive. She
demands he get busy and bribe someone to get her out. He explains to
her that she needs to be patient, he can do things to help but they will
take time, crying and apologizing won't get her out of this and that a
psych evaluation is her best bet at present. She promises, again, to
do whatever he says. Jason leaves after reassuring Carly of his tepid
liking for her, and Bobbie comes in as Carly cries. They discuss
Tony a little bit. Bobbie visits Carly and fills her in on Tony surviving
the surgery. Bobbie assisted and helped save his life. Carly thanks her,
grateful that she isn't now facing murder charges. Jason returns
with news of Carly first phsyciatric evaluation and Bobbie sees it as a
very hopeful sign. Next AJ visits her, Carly pleads the case to AJ of all
the reasons Jason should be left alone as Michael's daddy while she's
incarcerated. Jason enters and looks stunned when his half-brother
announces he'll do all in his power to see that Michael's parental custody
isn't interfered with anymore. Jason and Carly are discussing her plight
when Justus comes in with case news; she can either go ahead to trial, or
get a psych evaluation for an insanity defense.
Jason and Justus are visiting Carly in jail. She will be transferred
to a psychiatric facility. "Tony Jones is the psycho here, not
me. He's the one who should be in the padded cell."
Justus explains to her that it is a good move for her. Jason wants to
arrange a last visit with Michael. Justus tells her not to lose
heart. Jason thinks maybe the judge could get sick and a better one
take over. This appals Justus, who tells them that they can work
within the system. Carly thinks Tony's probably happy Carly shot
him. Jason assures her Tony is not laughing. Carly asks how long she will
be at the psych. facility. She worries that they'll decide she's
crazy, but Jason is calling in favors. Justus and Jason leave by one
door to go get Michael, and Bobbie comes in the other door. Carly is
surprised she came. Bobbie tells her she'll look in on Michael every
day. Carly thinks of Bobbie and Michael all the time. Now she
understands how Bobbie felt giving her up, and she apologizes for the pain
she caused. Bobbie tells her to focus on her own problems. Every
thought in her mind should be to get back to Michael. Carly's
worried that Michael will forget her. Bobbie assures her he won't,
"Take it one step at a time." Carly frets about the
post-partum depression and Bobbie assures her she'll come back again. When
Jason comes back with Michael, it's apparent that Robin has traded him for
a doll. Carly loves holding Michael, and then they take her away.
Justus visits Carly at the psychiatric facility. Carly's mood is as
foul as Brenda's, to no surprise. Carly asks about Michael, and Justus
tells her that Jason is in Manhattan, "talking to some people on your
behalf." Carly tells him she refused to go along with an
evaluation before she had a chance to talk to him about how she should
"play" this. Justus gets irritated at her for being
uncooperative with the authorities, but she says she had to know what she
should do to conform with whatever story they will use in court.
Should she tell the doctors thetruth? "Jason says I should, but
he can be a little naive as to how much good that can do."
Carly asks if she should claim Tony threatened her, and he snaps,
"I'm not going to tell you to lie." Justus doesn't think
much of Carly, and lets her know that. He worries that Carly may
change Jason from the honest man he is because "Once upon a time,
Tony Jones was an honest man and then he met you."
Ned has come to warn Carly about his family. They'll do anything to
take Michael away from her. Do not trust them, he cautions her.
Carly wants to know why he's telling her this. "Because I know
what it's like to be seperated from a child that you love. Besides,
except for Emily and Grandmother, Jason is the only decent relative I have
and I sorta enjoy looking out for him." Carly, clearly lonely,
asks him to stay longer. He leaves to meet Jason's plane, asks if
there's a message for Jason. Carly asks for pictures of Michael,
"and tell him not to throw out any of my swatch books."
Carly is surprised when Bobbie comes for a visit. As she tells
Bobbie that Michael will be ok as long as he has Jason, Bobby has to tell
her that Jason's plane fell off radar and he is missing. Bobbie tries to
put on a positive spin, pointing out that he may have survived as a crash
site had not been found yet. Carly reacts emotionally to the news.
She cries and laments, "Not Jason." Carly looks shell
shocked and more than a little lost as Bobbie puts her arms around her in
comfort. Bobby tries to give her hope. Carly takes comfort
from the fact that Brenda was on the plane with Jason otherwise everybody
would just leave Jason out there to rot. She talks about how Jason
is her everything, the only friend she ever had. He never judged
her, he gave her everything she needed. She was happy that Jason was
the father because she knew Jason would never teach her son to be ashamed
of her. Carly's worries move to Michael. What will happen to him? She
wants to see him. But Bobbie has already petitioned for her to see
Michael. It was rejected. Carly knows the Quartermaines will used
this opportunity to take Michael. Bobbie believes they are too upset
about Jason to move in on Michael now but Carly knows better. She wants
Bobby to help her stop the Quartermaines from taking her son.
Bobbie calls the penthouse and reports that everything is fine with
Michael, the Q's haven't even called there. Bobbie assures her that
if Jason is gone then she'll be there for Michael, he can live with her
and she won't let the Q's cut Michael out of Carly's life. Besides,
Bobbie again assures her, Edward is a lone wolf in that family.
Monica would never let Edward file for custody. Carly wants to appoint
Bobbie as Michael's guardian but Bobbie doesn't want to scoop down on
Michael while Jason is only missing. She seems to understand that
doing that would alienate Jason. But Carly thinks Jason would
appreciate her protecting Michael from the Q's. Carly worries that
Bobbie just has second thoughts about keeping her son. Bobbie thinks
Michael should be in familiar surroundings until they know for certain
what has happened to Jason. Bobbie tells her that the important
thing is to work on getting home to her son. Carly thanks Bobbie for
coming up to tell her about Jason. Bobbie pays another visit to Carly,
carrying fashion and decorating magazines. What Carly wants is to hear
Michael's voice; on cue, Ned arrives to tell them about his family's
hijacking of Michael's custody. Carly wigs out and Bobbie makes a bee line
for the Quartermaine mansion. Bobbie returns to Carly and tries to infuse
some hope into the situation.
Edward arrives next to visit Carly. Carly reams Edward. Edward acts all
sweet and caring. Carly spews her frustration and dislike. Edward stays
sweet and leaves. Outside of Carly's room he calls his judge and
tells him how irrational and instable 'poor' Carly is acting practically
paranoid. Bobbie visits Carly, but makes it clear that she's in a bad
mood. Carly presents her with a macrame key-chain she made for Lucas
in OT. Bobbie softens and they hug. Carly hands her mom a tissue and
tells her there's plenty more where that came from. She realizes that it's
BJ's anniversary, and just wanted to offer a shoulder to lean on and a
sympathetic ear. Bobbie responds gratefully. As horrible as it
was to lose both her daughters, she is glad to have found one of them
again. Jason brings Michael to see Carly and she's been a bit down since
her visit with Bobbie (he has been resuced from the plane crash and
retrieved Michael from the Q's, this is all on the Just Jason #9, not on
this edit). Jason gives her an uncharacteristically upbeat pep talk.
She looks at him strangely as she has never heard him talk like that
before. She wants to know what has happened to change him. Jason
rambles on about not expecting anything and then you just get everything
you ever wanted. He tells her that Robin has come back to him and he loves
her. Carly tries to bad mouth Robin but he lets her know it's not going to
work. She's afraid Robin is going to make him hate her. He swears that
will not happen. Carly looks unconvinced. Carly is worried that
Jason and Robin will get serious and even get married. Jason says right
now he is concerned with getting her out of the hospital. As he leaves,
the sorrow of losing him hits her and she sinks to her bed.
Bobbie pays a visit to Carly. Her daughter dispenses with small talk and
asks her straight out if she'd still be willing to take custody of
Michael. Bobbie was surprised, to put it lightly, when Carly laid out all
of her reasons for being upset about Jason's living arrangement.
Especially when Carly uses Robin's having HIV as a reason she shouldn't be
in Robin's care. This is her excuse for not wanting Michael around Robin.
Bobbie tells Carly she was nuts, that the baby couldn't be in safer
hands. This gets Carly to put her real cards on the table, her insecurity
and jealousy about Robin in Jason's life. Bobbie attempts to straighten
her out about what she did and didn't have a right to expect from Jason,
and Carly at least appears to listen. This is a nice moment between mother
and daughter.
Carly is visited by Jason and Michael. When is she getting out? she
asks. She wants to see Michael more than once a week. She wants to hear
what they did. Jason tells her he took Michael to the park and
Michael laughed at a dog. Carly carefully asks about Robin. She tells
Jason that Bobbie could take care of Michael is having him around is a
problem for Jason. She reminds Jason that Robin fought for Tony. The
longer she's in there the worse it gets. She will practice being patient.
Jason is reading to Michael from a travel book on Italy when Bobbie comes
to visit. Bobbie, knowing of Carly's fears about being replaced by
Robin in her son's heart, gently reminds Jason that Carly is Michael's
mother. Jason assures her that he is doing everything to keep Carly alive
for Michael. He won't let him forget her. Bobbie thinks it's time
Jason start planning for the future and thinking about problems that may
arise once Carly is freed. Bobbie knows that Carly has developed
feelings for Jason beyond their friendship, and she tells him so.
Carly wants with him what he has with Robin. It's clear this hasn't
occurred to Jason! Jason explains that all he and Carly do is fight when
they have sex and he doesn't want Michael exposed to that. He will stand
by the deal they made when Carly showed up at his door asking for help.
(Bobbie seems a little puzzled at how Jason put this.) His
relationship with Robin won't change that. Jason seems to
think that when Carly is released she'll just move in with him and Robin
but Bobbie explains that it's highly unlikely that the arragement will
work, for anyone! Jason: Why, there's plenty of room? Bobbie: "For
two bodies maybe, but not for two hearts." Bobbie knows someone will
end up being hurt and she thinks that someone is Robin. He's not going to
be able to have Robin, Carly and Michael all living in the house with
everyone living happily ever after. Robin's attachment to Michael is
growing everyday and there won't be a simple solution when Carly comes
home. She tells him to start thinking about it.
Jason and Michael go to see Carly who panics that this means they'll never
come by again. He tells her they're leaving. She asks if Robin
is going? She agrees that Michael should go with Jason. Carly is
really going stir-crazy. Jason reminds her that she has to wait. AJ
visits Carly, and Carly is wary of his motives. AJ assures her he's
here to support her because he heard Jason and Robin were back together
again and Michael was out of town. "I may be in an institution,
AJ, but I'm not crazy," Carly says, "You hated me ever
since I drugged you. Can we at least be honest about that?"
"I'll admit I'll never forget what you did," AJ replies,
"but I've had to ask a lot of people to forgive me, so I guess I can
do the same for you." "Right. We should go fishing
sometime," Carly banters. Carly softens and says that her life
is pretty miserable. AJ is sorry, he knows what it's like to hit
rock bottom. He eventually gets around to discussing his ulterior motive,
"Where's Jason?" Carly asks him why he needs to know. AJ
says there's trouble with the unions again. Carly hopes it isn't serious,
but says that she can't tell AJ where Jason is.
"Instructions," she adds. AJ asks if she'd at least
call Jason for him. Carly says that she promised him she wouldn't call
him. "I understand," AJ says, "Once you start
breaking promises, it's difficult to get people to trust you again."
They exchange weighted pleasantries and AJ leaves.
Bobbie visits Carly and they start out friendly enough. Bobbie finds
out Jason and Michael are gone. She'd been talking to Jason about Carly
and Robin. Carly blows up. "Haven't you done enough to
ruin my life??" Bobbie gives her a weird look and says she's
overreacting. Carly is worried about losing Jason. Bobbie says Carly
is repeating her same scenario, using a little boy both times. Carly
says, "You're never going to be in my corner." "Oh,
my darling daughter," Bobbie says, shaking her head. Bobbie
says she can't be played like Virginia Benson. Bobbie has made
mistakes but she doesn't go around repeating the same ones. "Look
Bobbie, if you ever say anything more to Jason about this you will never
see Michael again."
AJ visits Carly in the nut house and pushes all her insecurity buttons.
He's been thinking, or so he alleges, and isn't sure he would still oppose
his family's efforts to take Michael from Jason, since Jason is
irresponsible in taking the child out of the country on mob
business. And there's the matter of Jason being back together with
Robin. Doesn't that bother Carly? It should, he implies.
Carly's response? To his face, she isn't buying, and repeats her
steadfast "I will always trust Jason" mantra, assuring him his
family will never succeed in driving a wedge between her and Jason.
Once he's gone, she's clearly upset. Later, we see Carly alone in her
room. She's standing in front of the mirror, talking to a doctor who
isn't there. Then she begins to croon "I'm gonna see my baby, I'm
gonna see my baby," in a decidely spooky fashion. Is she
cracked? Or just practicing acting cracked? And why?
Robin visits Carly and she anxiously sought reassurance from Robin about
Jason, but Robin had very little information about Jason's whereabouts. A
frustrated Carly then insulted Robin, who did not want to waste her
time arguing with Carly. Carly met with a doctor and laid out what was on
her mind, regarding her relationship with Jason and Michael. Jason finally
visited Carly. Jason claimed to have found a friendly judge and she was
pretty stoked to see them. (This scene is adorable as the baby kisses
Sarah and snuggles up to her, both Sarah and Steve are cracking up but are
able to remain in the scene). Then Carly finds out Jason'd been back for a
full day, but chose to squire Robin to the Nurses' Ball before reuniting
mother and child. Jason side-stepped an argument, Carly swallowed one, and
he left.
Edward comes in to see Carly. He's bearing flowers. He tells
her that the court case is next week, and insinuates that Jason hasn't
told her because he wants to keep her locked up so he and Robin can be
together. He suggests that it was Robin's idea. "What are you
doing wallowing here in this psychiatric hospital while the mad Dr. Jones
goes free? Why can't Jason the Powerful release a distraught young
mother who struck out to free her infant child." Carly insists Jason
will free her. She says all Edward cares about is being in control.
She knows Jason better than his so-called family. He insinuates that Robin
has moved in. Edward leaves his card with his private number.
She says she'll call "when pigs wear toe shoes." He
leaves.
Jason arrives with Michael again to see Carly. Carly is happy to see
Michael but is disappointed that Jason didn't bring any solid food to feed
him since he just started on some. Jason tells Carly there is a small
possibility that she won't go home tomorrow. THere might not be a decision
right away. The judge might think it will look too suspicious to send her
home right away. Carly is confident that she'll be going home and tells
Michael she'll be home soon. Carly is telling Michael all of the things
she's going to do with him. She's excited to go home. There are some
things they'll have to talk about of course, about Robin. THey'll talk
about that later Jason says and Carly agrees. He tells her again it's not
a sure thing. He's never let her down before, she reminds him, and has
faith in him. She asks for freshly squeezed OJ when she gets home, and he
says he'll have it only if he knows for sure. She asks for muffins too.
She thnanks him for
everything and he leaves. She starts packing her things. Bobbie comes in
and Carly tells her she's going home, that Jason fixed everything. She
won't have to stand trial. Bobbie congratulates her. What about Robin?
Carly asks if Jason's more devoted to Robin or Michael and says that Robin
will not be a problem. Carly jubilantly tells the orderly that she is
going home that night and is surprised when Tony enters the room. They
spar and jab, Tony compares her room with a jail cell. She tells him
she is going home and he calls her deluded, Jason and Robin are doing to
her what she and Jason did to him [Tony] except that they don't need to
keep it a secret since she is locked up. Carly pounds on her door
demanding that Tony be thrown out. Tony keeps lobbing shots at her by
speculating on Jason's and Robin's 'glow' and obvious, intimate, physical
relationship. He then speaks of Robin raising Carly's son, taunts
her a bit more and leaves. Carly seethes and looks worried.
Carly's doctor arrives and tells her she'll be transferred to a county
facility so that she can stand trial. Carly insists he is wrong, he
leaves looking concerned about her mental health. She talks to
herself. I can't go to prison, I'm suppose to be crazy. Carly
decides to pretend to be crazy and starts talking to her pillow as if it
was Michael. Jason and Justus visit the center, they've got Carly's
release papers but are stunned when the doctor informs them Ms. Roberts is
too whacked out to go home. The good doc says Carly is operating under the
delusion that Jason's been busy making a home for her and Michael.
"Well," Jason says, "that's exactly what I've been
doing." "See," goes the doc. "She's crazy."
Bobbie enters Carly's room and is greeted by the sight of her daughter
clutching a pillow she claims is Micahel. Bobbie buys into the act when
Carly calls her "Virginia," and shows no enmity or upset when
Robin's name is brought up. Bobbie leaves, disturbed.
Carly picks up Jason's picture and expresses her frustration and
disappointment at him for not getting her out. Instead, she says, she'll
get herself out. Jason is arguing with the doctor about taking Carly out
and about seeing Carly. The doctor says, "if it turns out
[seeing Tony] was a mistake, I am not going to repeat it." They
are sending Carly to the state penal psychiatric facility at Ferncliffe.
"Don't shoot the messenger," he says. Carly won't be able to see
Michael. She can't see anyone for the first two months. The doc
conveniently leaves and Jason looks at the files. He calls Justus. Jason
goes into the room and sees Carly. He throws the pillow across the
room and asks Carly if she has any idea what she's done. Carly yells at
him, and he yells at her. Carly, "I fought for Michael.
Robin fought for Tony. Does anyone but me see the irony in this? You
have NO RIGHT to give her my baby!" He tells her she's blown
it. She wasn't listening when he told her how it was going to
happen. "You were THAT close, Carly, THAT close! But you had to
lie instead. You had to lie!" She is convinced she can fix it.
She'll tell him she was faking. He tells her she will go to prison
if she does. Jason tells her about Ferncliffe. She wants him
to fix it. "You can't agive up on me. You're all I
have." She tells him to tell Michael about her every day.
"Promise you won't give up on me, OK?" He promises.
Carly promises she will never doubt Jason again.
Jason has arrived to visit Carly. They lead Carly into the visiting room.
Jason is visibly excited to see Carly, she smiles at him. Her demeanor is
very reserved and quiet. Jason watches Carly’s interaction with her
doctor, trying to figure out what is going on inside of her head. Carly
asks about Michael and then she tells him, “I’ve been learning that I
have a right to my own feelings and I don’t have to let them control
me.” Jason just stares at her as the doctor watches them both. Carly is
prompted by her doctor to tell Jason about her daily activities. She keeps
looking to the doctor for reassurance. Then the doctor is called away and
he decides that they can continue their visit unsupervised for a few
minutes. As soon as the doctor closes the door behind him, Carly relaxes.
Jason wants to wait until it is all clear, before they start talking.
Carly runs up to Jason and hugs him, telling him she’s missed him so
much. Jason tries to jam the door, so that they will have a bit of a
warning before the doctor returns. Carly is overjoyed! Jason tells Carly
she is amazing, the best liar on earth. She says she’s motivated. He
pulls out a picture of Michael. Carly wants to know how they both are
doing. He tells Carly that he did write letters to her and so did Bobbie,
he just found out today that she never got them. He’s worried that she
thinks he forgot about her. She tells him to wear one of his suits next
time, he looks more imposing and impressive. He reluctantly tells her he
quit the business. She can’t believe it, how is he going to bribe a
judge, now that he has no power? He explains that it’s all been taken
care of as soon as her doctor decides she is well, she can go home. She
asks him to bring her wallpaper and fabric samples next time he visits, so
she can daydream about how she will redecorate the penthouse. Jason looks
worried. He starts to tell Carly about Robin and his new living situation
but is interrupted when the doctor returns. Carly then reverts to her
withdrawn and quiet self. Their visit is over. Jason asks when he
can see Carly next. He’s told he can return on Friday. Jason asks the
doctor is he can leave a picture of Michael with Carly and he agrees.
On his next visit, Carly isn't impressed when Jason tells her about living
with Robin and Michael. She starts yelling at Jason, her doctor overhears
the commotion and comes in demanding to know what is going on. Jason and
Carly cover with the doctor, when Jason comes up with a story saying he
was showing Carly how he makes Michael fly. The doc leaves but instructs
them to have no further emotional outbursts. Alone again, Carly tells
Jason that his fairy tale with Robin doesn't suit him. Jason promises that
they'll all work something out together once Carly is released. Later,
Carly tells her doctor that she knows how much Jason loves her, after all,
he's sacrificed so much for her.
Bobbie arrives to vist Carly at the institution. Carly's Dr. thinks
Bobbie's visit may hurt Carly and he doesn't encourage it. Bobbie
describes Carly as she knows her and the Dr. thinks Bobbie doesn't know
Carly at all. He thinks that Carly will not know Bobbie and will not want
the visit. Carly surprises the Dr. by knowing Bobbie and is very glad to
see her. Her Dr. takes it as a sign that she is improving and leaves them
alone. Carly continues the snow job and Bobbie tells her to cut the crap
as Jason has told her the truth. Bobbie knows that Carly is faking. Bobbie
is baffled by Carly’s assertion that everything she has done has been
for Michael even shooting Tony and faking insanity. Bobbie tells her the
real reason she is at Ferncliff is because she didn’t stop and think,
she reacted first and thought about the consequences later. Carly wonders
if Bobbie came to see her just to yell at her. She discloses to Bobbie how
hard it is for her to be at Ferncliff, her every word is constantly
monitored. She admits that she’ll do whatever it takes to get out, go
home and be a mother to Michael while he is still a baby. She just wants
her life back. She tells Bobbie that she won’t apologize for shooting
Tony, she was protecting Michael. Bobbie admits that she actually missed
her daughter. Carly is amazed.
Bobbie tells Carly that she was worried about her. Carly asks Bobbie if
she knows why she always comes out fighting. It’s because she had
no one to look out for her and protect her. She never learned how to
trust, that is why she always strikes first, and pushes people away before
anyone else can hurt her. Carly tells Bobbie that at least she had Luke to
look after her and protect her but Carly was on her own. Virginia wasn’t
much of a support system, it was as if they spoke different languages.
Carly still has trouble trusting others and depending on them to be there
for her. She asks Bobbie if what she said to her at Shadybrook was true,
that she feels about Carly the way Carly feels about Michael. Bobbie is
uneasy. Carly wants to know if she was trying to tell her that she loved
her? She tells Bobbie that in her group therapy sessions she is encouraged
to ask for what she wants, so she asks Bobbie, “Do you love me? And if
you do, can you say it to my face?” Bobbie tells her yes, she loves her,
she is her daughter. Carly admits that she has missed Bobbie a lot. Bobbie
finally decides to bring up the topic of Robin. She tries to prepare Carly
for Robin and Jason’s relationship and their new life at the cottage.
Carly believes that Jason would never give up Michael, not even for Robin,
and Bobbie agrees.
Jason goes to visit Carly and after he found out that Bobbie's visit went
well, he suggests that Carly move in with Bobbie when released. Carly one
again gets mad and loses her cool, and Dr. Evans walks in. They assure him
that everything is okay, and he mentions that AJ came to visit.
Jason and Carly talking about making plans for the future, specifically
how Carly is going to fit in, what with Robin and Jason living together
and all. Jason has just suggested that Carly might want to get to know her
mother a little better by moving in with her after she is released from
the hospital. Carly is unhappy with this idea and just as she is
telling Jason where to go, her shrink comes in to tell her that visiting
hours are over. The doctor also happens to mention that AJ came by earlier
and would like to visit her. Jason, who hasn't yet told Carly about Robin
leaving BBQ alone with AJ, looks a little stunned by this news. Although
the doctor tells Carly that it is up to her whether or not she wants to
see AJ, she tells him that Jason is the only one she wants to see.
The doctor and Carly are just wrapping up their counseling session, when
Carly suggests that maybe she would like to have AJ visit her after all.
A.J. comes to visit Carly's and the doctor is concerned about him visiting
Carly. He tells A.J. not to upset her. A.J. tells him if she becomes
agitated at any time, he will leave. He then goes in to see Carly who is
in her calm, cool and collected mode. They make small talk in front of the
doctor and then Carly dismisses the doctor so she and A.J. can talk alone.
A.J. asks her what changed her mind to let him visit. Carly asks if its
okay for her to change her mind about seeing him. A.J. asks her how much
has Jason told her. She calmly tells him about the cottage, Robin, etc. He
is surprised that Jason has been so honest with her and how well she has
taken the news. She tells him that things have a way of working out for
the best. She then says that it won't be too much longer. A.J. tells her
that Jason hasn't told her everything. A.J. then tells Carly that Jason's
ability to influence her release has been greatly diminished when he left
the organization. He then says that Jason walked away from his power, he
is just a bike mechanic, He can no longer influence judges. Carly just
listens and A.J. tells her that he wants to help get her out and back with
her son, but if she wants him to stay out, he will. She tells him that big
favors don't come cheap and asks him what does he want in return and how
would she repay him? A.J. asks her what could she tell him that
would help him to speed up the process of getting her out. Carly tells him
that there is something and A.J. then suggested that the Quartermaines
might be able to help Carly.
Carly tells AJ that he and the Quartermaine's are the reason she's stuck
in Fern Cliff. Jason will take care of me and Michael, she says. AJ
questions Jason's capabilities now that he's out of the organization. He
offers to pull some strings for her. She tells him that she's learned from
her past mistakes. I get you, AJ, Carly says. The way you take things is
by stealing what doesn't belong to you--Jason is the one I'll call. AJ
suggests she do just that. In fact, AJ says, I'm going to work with Jason
on getting you released. Carly freaks and tells him not to say anything to
Jason. I don't want him to think I told you to do that, she says. Dr.
Evans interrupts them and cuts off the visit after seeing how upset
Carly is. AJ leaves and Carly realizes what she's done. She tries to call
Jason, but Dr. Evans returns and reprimands her behavior. The doctor
leaves and Carly paces.
Jason has arrived at Ferncliff. He's in the visiting room with the
doctor and Carly. As the doc prattles on about how important the AJ visit
was in showing him that Carly could handle the larger world, Jason and
Carly's eyes are fixed on one another. Jason's face is a mask to the
doctor but Carly knows he's seething inside. She smiles and talks to
the doctor but Jason knows she is a nervous wreck inside. The doctor
leaves them alone, and Carly's first words are, "How mad at me are
you?" "How mad did you want me to be?" Carly tries to
defend her decision to see AJ. Jason is furious, and lets her know that
she gave AJ hope that he could use her to deliver Michael to the Qs, and
that allowing him to visit showed AJ that she doesn't trust Jason. Carly
counters that she made it clear to AJ that she has complete confidence in
Jason. Then she goes on to make it equally clear to Jason that she really
doesn't, because he gave up his mob position and power and she doesn't see
how a mechanic can have the clout to get her out of Ferncilff. She
rants about being stuck in the institution forever because Jason didn't
wait until she was free to make his life change. She vents at length,
"Be patient, Carly. I'm so tired of that." She can't
take it any more. "Tell me I'm wrong," she pleads,
"tell me I'm not a complete sucker." So he does, pulling
out the court order signed by a judge that will free her. She is stunned.
"Am I really going to get out?"
#7B Carly is very apologetic once she realizes that her
release papers are in Jason's hands. She is ecstatic when she realizes
that all Jason has to do is sign it, unfortunately she can't find a pen.
Jason pulls one out of his pocket and stares at her. As Jason continues to
taunt Carly by holding the pen in front of her, she asks him why he is
doing this. He explains that he won't until he makes a few things clear.
He knows that Carly and Robin aren't going to like each other any more
than they ever did, but that is not Michael's problem. He tells her that
she will live with him and Robin until Michael gets used to her again, but
after that, she has to find her own place, not far away from the cottage.
They will share custody of Michael. He has thought about it, and he can't
think of a better way. Carly tries to tell Jason that she doesn't
think it was fair to him that he would only get to see Michael part of the
time. Upon hearing this, Jason picks up the release papers and puts them
back in the envelope without signing them. Carly says that she is not
trying to cause problems, but is he sure that this is the best solution.
Jason accuses her of using Michael to try and manipulate him. She denies
it, but Jason refuses to listen. Carly asks who has been coaching
him. He tells her that no one tells him what to say. Carly accuses Jason
of being a better manipulator than her because he is holding her release
papers hostage until she agrees to his demands. Carly tells Jason
that she understands. She will be living with him for a little while and
then they will be sharing Michael. Jason says that he always tells Michael
that he has a great Mom who will do anything for him. He promised Michael
that Carly would be home. Carly apologizes to Jason and gives him a hug.
Dr. Evans arrives and says that he wants to discuss some changes in next
weeks visiting schedule. Carly says that they want to discuss that as
well. Jason signs the release and hands it to the doctor. Dr. Evans says
that there is no way that Carly is going anywhere. Jason tells the Doctor
that he has no choice. He has had it with his fat face and his grand
attitude. These orders come from way over his head and there is nothing he
can do about it. As he leaves the room, the Doctor says that they will see
about that. Dr. Evans returns and is very angry because he has
discovered that Jason is right. He can't prevent Carly's release. He won't
be surprised if she murders someone before the year is out. Carly is
ecstatic.
Bobbie stops by the cottage for a visit to tuck Michael in and to find out
how things went with Carly. Jason tells her how Carly is going to be
released this Friday and explains the "living arrangements. Carly
will stay with them for a while so that Michael will get used to her again
and then Jason will buy her a house close by and they will share custody
of the baby. Half a week with Carly, half a week with him and Robin.
Bobbie is very supportive of Jason and his decision. Just then Robin comes
home and Bobbie immediately tells Robin "the good news." Carly's
coming home! Robin's not too excited. Later that week, Dr. Evans is doing
his best to delay Carly's release. He wants to talk directly to the judge
and leaves to phone him. Carly panics when he leaves, thinking she may not
be released after all. Jason assures her that it's a done deal, but
Carly is inconsolable, "If that pompous jerk somehow gets in the way
of my getting out of here, I'm going to lose my mind!". But,
Dr. Evans returns and says that the judge convinced him to let her go.
Outside, Carly waxes rhapsodic about feeling the wind on her face again,
as Jason and she prepare to leave on his motorcycle, "Don't ever let
me forget what you did for me today," says Carly. Arriving at
the cottage, Carly is giddy and nervous, asking Jason "how's my
hair?" Jason says she looks fine and then asks her how his hair
looks. "Don't make fun of me," Carly chides, and
then enters the cottage to see Leticia with Michael. "He's so
big," Carly says and just looks at him for a moment before picking
him up. Jason and Carly on the couch, preparing to read Michael his
bedtime story, while Robin looks on at the happy threesome, unnoticed.
The next day, Carly is holding Michael and getting to know him again when
Robin enters with her game face on and asks Jason how their trip was.
Oblivious to the fact that the tension is so thick it can be cut with a
knife, Jason tells her about the dickens of a time they had getting Carly
sprung from the clutches of the shrink from hell. Carly thanks Robin for
being there for Michael while she was gone and Robin gives her the
homecoming present that Bobbie had left for her. Carly, Robin and
Jason are looking at a photo album filled with pictures of Michael. Robin
had made an effort to take a picture of Michael each day for Carly and is
obviously annoyed when Carly makes fun of some of the pictures. Carly
especially hates the pictures of Michael in his Halloween Pumpkin costume,
saying he looked fat. That night, Carly and Jason look at the stars with
Michael. Jason is shirtless again, Carly is in her pjs. She reads Michael
a book about Germany. Robin looks on at this cozy scene from the top of
the stairs, disturbed.
Next day, Jason and Carly discussed Micheal and all that she has missed.
Another sweet scene as Michael calls Carly "Mama" and pats her
on the lips. Bobbie came by for a visit and Jason left for work with
Micheal in tow. Bobbie listened while Carly complained about Robin.
Carly decided to spend Jason's money and start redecorating Michael's
room. Carly arrives back at the garage with a huge lion for Michael. She
doesn't like Jason working in the garage and holds Robin responsible for
this unwanted change. Jason tells her about the car bomb that killed
Reynoldo and almost killed Robin. He asks her what if Michael had been in
that car? Robin comes home to find Carly surrounded by new purchases.
Robin asked where Michael was and Carly said that she thought he was
upstairs with Letticia. Robin expressed her wonderment that Carly wasn't
upstairs spending time with him rather than out shopping. AJ showed up and
Robin asked him to leave because Michael was in the house. She said to AJ
that she knew he didn't need her to explain why. Carly got angry saying
that she was entitled to have guests. AJ (who seemed thrilled by all the
dissention) said that he would leave. Carly protested more and then walked
AJ out and complained to him. AJ mentioned that it was his birthday. Back
inside Carly yelled at Robin saying that Robin was making it obvious to AJ
that Michael is his son (Robin wasn't). While they were trading insults
Jason showed up. Leticia came downstairs with Michael. Apparently Michael
had started to cry earlier. Carly was upset that Letticia didn't call her
when Michael started to cry. Leticia said she didn't know what to do
because AJ was there. Leticia left with Michael for the park. Jason asked
what happened and Robin and Carly explained. Carly greatly embellished her
description of Robin's conversation with AJ. Robin said Carly lied,
basically forcing Jason to side with one woman or the other. Jason yelled
at the two of them saying that they have to all get along. Did they
understand? Robin said, "I think I do." And she left.
Carly is home alone with Michael who is supposed to be napping. She is
admiring more purchases from her shopping trip when she hears Michael on
the baby monitor. At first she just listens and hopes he goes back to
sleep, but when he starts crying, she finally runs upstairs to check on
him. Jason arrives home to Carly chattering happily about her afternoon
with Michael. She notices that Jason is a little quiet and asks if Robin
got off okay (she decided to leave town for a few weeks). Jason says yes
but Robin can't take Carly living with them and it isn't good for Michael
to be around Carly and Robin fighting. He tells Carly that they will have
to find her a new place to live before Robin returns. Carly says okay, if
that is what Jason wants. Jason says that none of this is what he wants,
but it's how it has to be for everyone's sake. AJ went to the
cottage to visit Carly and was surprised to learn that Robin had left
town. AJ tried to get on Carly's good side and offered to help her any way
that he could, but Carly saw through his attempt at friendship. After AJ
left, Carly assured Jason that she would never let the Quartermaines get
their hands on Michael and gave Jason a friendly hug. Jason then listened
as Carly told Michael a fairy tale based on her own life with Jason.
Bobbie and Carly are in the cottage, and Carly is showing Bobby some
patterns and decorating stuff for Michael's room. Bobbie comments
that she is surprised that Robin let her redecorate. Carly responds,
"Who asked Robin? Her opinion is not going to count for much
longer!" Carly tells Bobbie that she plans to move back into
the penthouse with Jason and Michael. Bobbie tells Carly that she needs a
reality check! Jason is NOT going to move away from Robin, he loves Robin!
Carly says that since Robin left for Europe, Jason has been so happy, and
he hasn't been faking it. She says that Jason and Robin are over, they
just don't know it yet!
Jason and Carly are about to go on their hike with Michael when Justus
(who works for Moreno at this time) comes in with a message. Justus tells
Jason, as a friend, that it would be wise for him to stay away, to let it
go, and that his deal doesn't fly anymore. Jason assures Justus that he
will retaliate. As soon as Justus leaves, Jason takes out his gun and
loads it. We then hear Michael crying from upstairs, Jason feels guilty,
and unloads and puts the gun away. Carly questions Jason on why Justus
came over and Jason answers: business. Carly supports, "You can tell
me, you miss the business, the thrill, the rush that makes you feel alive.
You can tell me everything, I'm not going to judge you." Jason
responds, "I was nothing before. Since I met Sonny, he took the time
to teach me things, how to run the business, how to read people. One of
the things he taught me was that if you're not powerful, you're powerless.
Moreno thinks I'm powerless, but I'm not." Carly asks if he wants to
go back. He teases that she missed having a driver. Carly observes that he
pretends to be happy but she doesn't really think he is.
Jason and Carly are in the park with Michael. Carly is nervous because
Jason is going to leave her alone with Michael for a short time, just to
get Michael used to being with her when Jason isn’t around. Jason tells
Carly that they have been over this before. Michael needs to spend time
with her alone. Carly is concerned that Michael will start screaming or
something. The last thing she wants to do is throw him off balance.
Michael is one of the few people she hasn’t ticked off. Jason assures
her that everything will be fine. Jason explains to Michael that he is
only going to be gone for a little while. Just long enough to get a bike
part. Carly is still worried. What if Michael freaks, or what if she
freaks? Jason assures her that she and Michael will be fine. Everything
she needs is in the diaper bag, they both have their cell phones. There is
nothing to worry about. As Jason leaves, he tells Michael to behave
himself and he tells Carly not to worry. All she has to do is play with
Michael and pay attention.
After Jason leaves, Carly talks to Michael trying to decide what they
should do. Carly is pushing Michael in the swing when Helena walks through
the park. Carly notices Helena and leaves Michael unattended while she
walks over to her to ask her what kind of fur coat she is wearing. She and
Helena chat briefly and then Carly turns around to check on Michael. She
is furious when she sees Tony squatting next to the swing playing with
him. She demands that he get away from Michael at once. Carly takes
Michael out of the swing while Tony follows her telling her that she
hasn't changed a bit. She is still more interested in hobnobbing with the
rich and famous then taking care of her own child. Carly tells Tony to get
a life. She barely stepped away from Michael so Tony had better back off.
Tony dares her to make a scene, maybe it will make the papers and then
Jason can read about it. Carly backs off saying there is no need to make a
federal case out of it. She suggests that Tony just leave. Tony says
he will be happy to keep her little secret, except from Jason. As
Michael's father, Jason has a right to know about Carly's lack of
interest. Carly in turn threatens to tell Bobbie that Tony threatened her
in the park.
Jason arrives as they are arguing and demands to know what is going on.
Jason is very angry when he sees Tony talking to Carly and Michael. He
won't tolerate Tony harassing Carly and Michael. He tells Tony to leave
Carly and his son alone. Tony starts to tell Jason that he found Michael
alone, but Carly interrupts and defends Tony. She tells Jason that Tony
wasn't bothering her and to leave him alone. It was an accident that they
bumped into each other. Tony agrees that they were trying to ignore
their differences and focus on their similarities, like their love for
children. Jason lets Tony leave, but turns to Carly and demands to know
what really happened between the two of them. Carly denies that anything
happened. She says that Tony saw her before she saw him. She didn't have
the opportunity to avoid him. Tony commented on how much Michael had grown
and she couldn't find a polite way to not answer him. What was she
supposed to do, grab Michael and run. She learned a few things at
Ferncliffe, like don't throw a match on an already volatile
situation. Jason reminds Carly that Tony kidnapped Michael, but Carly
assures him that she would never let anything happen to Michael.
Carly sprained her ankle and Jason carried her to his room, Jax shows up
at the cottage. He knocks, then let himself in with his key and overhears
Carly ooh-ing and mmmmm-ing "Oh yeah Jason, right there..." Of
course we all know that Jason is just massaging the ankle and putting ice
on it. Jax calls up to them and Jason says he'll be down in a minute
(leaving enought time for him to seemingly put clothes on in Jax's eyes)
and comes down wanting to know how Jax got inside. Jax said that he was
looking for a necklace thatBrenda had and hoped she didn't die with it. He
would be the only one to know where it is and Robin gave him permission to
go in and get it if no one was in. Jax asked if he should wait *ahem*
before he goes up to the room. Jason didn't see why not so they go up
together. Right before Jason opens the door, Carly throws a blanket over
herself. She is wearing a spaghetti strapped top so she looked
interuppted. Jax comes in quickly, looks for Brenda's necklace,
finds it and starts to lecture Jason on how he gave the house to Robin and
that Jason was betraying Robin. Jason didn't say one thing to deny any
suspiscions. Carly is indignant about Jax barging in "her"
house. He points out that it is Robin's home, he knows as he gave it to
her. He doesn't like Carly living there, Jason tells him it is none of his
business. After Jax leaves Carly asks, what if he tells Robin? Jason knows
that Robin will believe him and doesn't care what Jax thinks.
Jason talking on the phone with Robin, meaning that Carly is busted for
not telling Jason that Robin called earlier. Jason said he isn't mad at
Carly, that she was just being herself and he is used to her games.
He also points out that he knows she sprained her ankle on purpose. Jason
warns Carly that if she ever messes with Micheal's head, safety or life in
a negative way, he will get mad and come after her. After Jason leaves,
Carly worries that Jason will find out the truth about her letting Tony
get close to Micheal at the park. A.J. shows up to smooth talk
Carly, but she doesn't buy it. So AJ goes for the sympathy angle. He tells
Carly about Alan being a drug addict and how hewas arrested for murder.
Carly does feel sorry for AJ, he then offers to help Carly find a house so
she can get out on her own, but Carly turns himdown. Jason then returns
home and throws AJ out.
Carly arrives at the bike shop and she is wearing a new Russian Sable
coat. Felicia is surprised when she learns that the coat was a gift from
Jason. She says life must be good for Carly and she thinks that it is
going to get even better when Robin comes home and Carly gets her own
place. Felicia offers to help her house hunt, but Carly tells
her that she is too busy and it will have to wait until next week. Felicia
asks if that isn't a little long to wait since Robin is coming home, but
Carly blows her off. Carly suggests to Jason that they not go home.
She wants to show off her new coat. Michael is safe with Leticia, so why
not?
Carly and Jason go to Jake's, the seedy pool hall where they used to hang
out. Carly tells Jason she wants to sit at their usual table. Carly was
determined to have a good time and does her best to remind Jason of the
good old days, but he's not the nostalgic type. Carly asks Jason to dance.
He wonders about her hurt ankle. Another guy comes over and asks Carly to
dance. She accepts and dances sexy to try to make Jason jealous, however
it doesn't work. Jason is watching them. After Carly finishes dancing, the
guy tries to come onto Carly. She informs him who her date is, and the guy
leaves her alone. Carly returns to her table and complains to Jason about
how he is ignoring her. Jason amusingly tells her that he can see that she
was busy. She tells him that the guy had his hands all over her and asked
if Jason even noticed. He tells her he did notice, but didn't see a
problem with it since Carly was the one who put the guys hands there. She
then wonders why he's not jealous when another man looks at her. Jason
tells Carly he is happy with Robin and doesn't think of other women. He
also tells her that he has no ties to her and if she wants a guy and likes
him, who is he to stop her.
Carly is disappointed by his answer, but still continues her cat and mouse
game. While Jason is busy eating, Carly brings up the topic of sex and
says she doesn't see the big deal in discussing two friends who had
sex. Jason corrects her and says, no two strangers who had sex. Carly says
whatever, but wonders why Jason now finds the topic morally
objectionable. Jason tells her it's like the long distance people who keep
calling, he's happy with his current provider, meaning Robin. Carly tells
him that he should consider her his ex-lover. She explains to Jason that
when you've had a relationship with another person, you sometimes feel
certain things. He corrects her again and says "felt certain
things", but she says feel, like in the present. She continues by
saying that they want the other person to be happy in their new
relationship, but there is still a part of them that wants things to be
back the way they were. She says that there will always be an attraction
to the other person, a physical desire. She pushes him into complimenting
her appearance by putting herself down. He does and she gets happy and
invites him to dance, but Jason would rather play pool.
As they continue to play pool, Jason has won a few games in a row. He
suggests that she could play better with her coat off. She just wants to
show it off. He says that she looks hot, then explains that it must be a
warm coat. She goads him into dancing with her again. Jason takes the bait
and leads her to the small dance floor. She flings off her coat and tells
him to come here because she is hot. She holds him close while they dance
with a big smile on her face and then starts kissing his neck. She
says that she still has the key to the room upstairs that he gave her. He
asks her why she saved it. She says that if he hadn't have given her the
key, there wouldn't have been no Michael and if she would have never met
him, she thinks she would have probably ended up dead or something. She
then wonders who lives there now. Jason says that the bartender says that
no one does. She then tells him that she used to like when he would say
"would you like to go upstairs?" Jason says nothing and then
Carly asks him if he wants to go upstairs. Jason tells Carly that
they were just using each other when they had sex before, and they
couldn't stand each other when they weren't having sex. Jason tells Carly
that he loves Robin and that he is happy with his relationships with Robin
and Carly the way they are. Carly responds that she is not happy and wants
a little of what Jason "thinks" he has with Robin.
After an unsuccesful attempt to make Jason jealouse, she asks him why
Robin and Jason are together since they appear to have nothing in common.
Jason responds by saying most of what he knows came from Robin. Carly
tells Jason that Robin is telling him how to feel, and doesn't really love
him. Jason says he is happy with Robin, Carly says she could make
him happier then challenges him to another game of pool. Carly wins
the game and Jason gives her $20. When they get home, Carly tells him she
will give back the $20 if Jason will carry her up the stairs. Jason says
okay and Carly tells him he can drop her on his bed if he can't make it to
hers. Jason [icks Carly up and turns around, only to see Robin standing
there staring at them. Carly tells her they weren't expecting her so soon.
Robin quips back, "Sorry to disappoint you". Carly continues to
try to antagonize Robin by asking her what she thought of the nursery.
Robin blandly says that whoever hung the wallpaper did a good job. Carly
says that it was good practice for when she gets her own place. Robin
asked her if that means she found a place yet and Carly tells her that she
and Jason agreed that Michael wasn't ready yet. Jason finally cuts Carly
off and she says goodnight. Jason goes out on the porch to look at the
stars.
Carly is on the phone trying to set up appointments to see houses when
Robin walks into the room. Carly notices her and explains to realtor that
she knows the holidays are a tough time of year for house hunting, but she
and her son are being forced out of their home. After she hangs up, Robin
asks her for the phone. As Robin starts to make her call, Carly
congratulates her. When Robin asks for what, Carly says that with
any luck, she and Michael will be out of her house in time for the
holidays. Robin says that she doesn't want Michael out of the house,
just Carly. Carly reminds Robin that she and Michael come as a set. Robin
responds by saying that she would have no problem with Carly being there
if she didn't know that Carly was manipulating Jason. Carly accuses Robin
of manipulating Jason by running off to another continent just to punish
him. She was angry with Jason for letting Carly stay there so she left.
Carly says that she is leaving on her own for Michael's sake. Robin laughs
and says that Carly is just playing games and they don't work with her any
more than they did with Jason while she was gone. She knew from the second
Carly walked in that she wasn't planning on leaving her house or Jason.
She knows that Carly used every second while Robin was gone to try to get
Jason. Including dragging Jason to Jake's to relive the good old days.
Robin says that her games didn't work. Jason is faithful to her because
her loves her. That is why Carly's game will fail every time. Robin says
that she is going to miss Michael a lot, but she can't wait to get rid of
Carly. Carly says that she and Michael will be a part of Jason's life from
now on, so get used to it. Robin starts to say that if Carly thinks she
can come here and just take over her life, but she is interrupted by Jason
returning home. Jason looks at the two women and asks what is going on.
Carly says that she and Michael are leaving. Jason is not thrilled with
Carly's announcement.
After he puts Michael to bed, he comes downstairs and asks Carly and Robin
what is going on. Carly explains that she made an appointment with a real
estate broker. Robin offers to watch Michael while they are gone. Jason
says that no one is going anywhere because Michael isn't ready to move.
Carly agrees, but she can't take living with Robin anymore. Robin is mad
at her all the time. Jason tells Carly that he gets her point, but Michael
is not ready to move. Robin tells him that he is the one who isn't ready.
Their conversation is interrupted by the phone, which Jason answers. A
woman is calling to tell him that Mr. Corinthos is in trouble. Jason
demands to know who is calling. The woman says that her name is Maria. Mr.
Corinthos is acting very strange. He seems very angry. She doesn't
think he will hurt anyone, but she is afraid he will hurt himself. She
tells Jason that sometimes she sees Sonny pick up the phone to call him,
but then he hangs up. She thinks that Sonny wants to see Jason. Jason
tells her that she did the right thing. He doesn't want her to tell Sonny
that he is coming, but he will be there as soon as he can. Jason
hangs up the phone and tells Robin and Carly that he has to go find out if
Sonny is in trouble. He needs the two of them to stay with Michael. Jason
is getting ready to go to Sonny. He tells Robin and Carly that he isn't
sure how long it will take. Before he leaves, he makes Carly and Robin
promise to make things okay for Michael while he is gone, that means no
fighting. Jason explains to Michael that he has to go visit Sonny. Michael
is going to stay home with Robin and Carly. Jason promises to call. He
also promises that Robin and Carly won't scare him, they aren't going to
fight. He tells Michael that he loves him and kisses him goodbye. He turns
to Robin and tells her to call Mac right away if anything funny happens.
He tells Robin he loves her and kisses her goodbye. Robin tells him
not to worry and to stay as long as Sonny needs him. As soon as Jason is
gone, Carly cancels her appointment with the realtor and makes plans to
take Michael Christmas shopping.
Jason arrived in Puerto Rico and learned that Sonny had been going through
a rough time. Sonny's assistant Maria cautions Jason that her boss has
started drinking and becomes violent on occasion for no apparent
reason. She then tells Jason she thinks Sonny is going crazy and hopes
that Jason can calm him. Jason thanks her for calling him and she tells
Jason that Sonny is a good man and she truly hopes that he can help him.
Jason tells her he’ll do what he can do and then ducks inside to see
Sonny. Inside, Sonny is sitting in the dark, unshaven, drinking and the
room is a mess and Jason is concerned to find Sonny in a badly disheveled
state, sitting in the midst of the office he just trashed. Jason
calls out Sonny’s name softly. Sonny looks at him, but says nothing.
Trying to engage his old friend's interest with small talk about Robin and
Michael, he calmly tells Sonny about his new life, just making
conversation, not expecting Sonny to answer. He notices a liquor bottle
that Sonny has emptied, but continues talking about Michael. He then tells
Sonny that they are living in Brenda’s old cottage, and how Michael
likes to watch the stars. He tells about Carly as well. Sonny doesn’t
seem to be listening, but Jason continues rambling on until Sonny finally
erupts in anger and asks Jason what the hell is he doing here? Sonny then
pours himself another drink, while Jason tries convincing Sonny to
come back to Port Charles for the winter. Sonny says that he moved out of
the business, he got away clean. He then yells at Jason to go. Telling him
that its his choice to stay, to drink and do whatever, and its also
his choice that he wants Jason to go. Jason refuses to leave and they
start fighting with Sonny pushing at Jason to go and Jason yelling back at
him that he won't. Sonny then realizes he has gone too far, and sits down
and sighs. He asks Jason how Robin is doing. Jason tells him how Robin is
coping with Brenda's death. Sonny says that it never occurred to him that
Brenda would die first. He would have done anything to prevent that from
happening. He then tells Jason if he had taken her with him, then they
could have been Mr. & Mrs. Nobody. Jason says that they could have,
until a man came along and shot them. Sonny still blames himself for not
having been there to save her. Jason tells him that he couldn't have
done anything even if he were in Port Charles at the time. Sonny says that
it matters not how Brenda died, just that she is dead, and he can't be
with her ever again. He then tells Jason that he has nightmares and is
haunted by memories of Brenda. But dreaming of Brenda is worse, because
when he wakes up, she is not there. Jason wants Sonny to come home to Port
Charles with him, but Sonny thinks there's nothing there for him. Jason
tries to make him see that there's more in Port Charles than there
is here, but Sonny disagrees and tells Jason that he can't help him, no
one can and that his problems couldn't be fixed. Inspite of what Sonny was
saying, Jason intended to help Sonny and called Carly to say that he would
be staying in Puerto Rico for as long as Sonny needed him.
Sonny isn't very happy when Jason tries to clean up the books at the
casino, and then apologies for his lastest funk and tells Jason he's
really in a bad way. He thinks he's going crazy. Jason tries to convince
him to come back to PC with him. Johnny prevents Carly from leaving the
house, by telling her that as Michael's mother, she might be the next
target. Carly greets Jason with a rather big hug, after which he tells her
that they are moving back to the penthouse since it is safer than the
cottage. Carly agrees to pack some clothes for her, Michael and Robin
after she tells him that Robin has been spending most of her time either
at the hospital or her uncle's house. Jason tells her that Sonny is coming
back to Port Charles. Jason goes to the hospital to tell Mike to go to
Sonny with the usual warnings. Carly and Jason go to the penthouse where
she gives a veiled threat about not turning his back on her or Michael.
Carly, Jason and Michael back at the Penthouse on Christmas Eve. Carly
can't contain herself: she's so happy to be back in the money she can't
stand it. Jason tells her not to get too comfortable. She talks him
into taking Michael to the GH Christmas Party. Jason, Carly
and Michael arrive just as Edward makes his entrance as Santa, which
scares Michael and he starts to cry. Dave Koz's sax leads the kids
to the party, and as Alan reads the Christmas Story. A montage Christmas
moments of various characters opening gifts, etc.
Carly and Bobbie are at the penthouse decorating for Michael's birthday
party. Carly is very excited to be celebrating Michael's first birthday.
She says that it is kind of like a house warming. She doesn't want Jason
to feel like he is admitting defeat by coming back to the penthouse.
Suddenly, Robin and Jason arrive. Carly pastes on a fake smile at the
sight of Robin and says she was afraid that they were going to miss the
party. Jason offers to get Robin something to eat, but Carly is
quick to say that Robin probably wants to lay down. Robin says that she
just wants to take a shower and change. She doesn't want to miss Michael's
party. Robin apologizes to Carly for not being more help in the whole move
back to the penthouse. Carly graciously says that it is OK. Robin
had other things on her mind. After Jason takes Robin upstairs to change
her clothes for the party, Bobbie tells Carly that it was very nice to see
her making an effort with Robin. Carly sarcastically says that they
practically had to give Robin the heimlich maneuver so she could choke out
the words Thank You. Wouldn't it be nice to have the poor suffering little
martyr at the party to talk about her uncle so everyone can all feel sorry
for her. Bobbie points out that Robin can't win with Carly. If Robin had
chosen to stay at the hospital, Carly would have said that she was turning
her nose up at Michael's birthday. Carly acts outraged and says that she
won't have sympathy for Robin. Bobbie says that she can't blame Robin or
Carly. No woman could handle the situation they are in. She is just glad
that Carly is moving out soon. Carly changes the subject and asks Bobbie
what Sonny is like. After Bobbie tells her about Sonny, Carly does another
about face and says that the bottom line is that she won't be the one
moving out. Michael isn't ready.
Bobbie is taking pictures of the party guests when the Q's arrive bearing
gifts. Emily apologized to Jason saying that she had no idea they would do
this. Robin tells the Q's that this is a birthday party, but that they
were not invited. Edward asks why they weren't invited. Emily is furious
and asks why they are doing this to her. Why are they trying to ruin
everything. AJ asks Carly what she thinks. Carly diplomatically defers to
what Jason wants. Robin turns to Jason and points out that the Q's clearly
not leaving, why don't they just let them stay for something to try and
salvage the day. Jason says that he doesn't want them here. Carly asks
when Robin got to start making the rules. Robin says that she is just
trying to find a way for Michael to still have a good birthday. Robin says
that it is Michael's day. So if someone has to win this battle before they
go on, her vote is for whoever can end it the fastest. From the door, AJ
says with a sly smile that if it is a question of staying for cake or
gifts, they are much better with gifts. Carly is opening Michael's gifts.
Edward's gift is a gold frame and a letter accepting Michael to an
exclusive prep school. Carly is thrilled with the gift, but Jason still
looks angry that the Q's have crashed the party. Edward explains that it
is a family tradition and Ned adds that the school is very exclusive. AJ
laughs and says that they let him in. There is an uncomfortable moment
when AJ says that Michael will be following in his father's footsteps.
When he gets several funny looks, AJ explains that he and Jason attended
the same school. The Q's take their leave once the gifts have been opened
and invite Emily to come with them. Emily declines saying she will be home
in a little while. The guests are gone and Jason, Carly, Robin and Michael
are playing with his new toys. Carly suggests that Robin go to bed and
Robin agrees. She is exhausted. Once she has gone, Carly asks if Jason is
sure that he doesn't want Michael to go his old school. Jason says that
some school won't make Michael special. He wants Michael growing up
thinking he is special and that isn't what that school teaches if AJ went
there. Carly says that AJ isn't so bad, for a weasel. But the best present
Michael ever got was Jason as his father.
New Year's Eve in Port Charles and everyone's buzzing about the Bachelor
Auction! Robin and Jason kiss and Carly interrupts and tries to
score points by telling Robin she wouldn't be caught dead anywhere Jason
isn't welcome, even though it's for the Stone Cates Memorial Aids Wing.
Jason takes the wind out of her sails by telling her to go, and he'll pay
for her ticket. Carly's ready for a night on the town. She comes down the
stairs in her best ensemble and tells Jason she's going half naked because
she wants to show off her diamond necklace. The auction begins, all of
Port Charles' eligible bachelors (half the cast) are called down to the
stage by Kat. Reggie is selected to be Carly's dinner companion. Lila
makes a suprise appearance, bidding $50,000 to spend the evening with her
favorite bachelor (it's Michael). Carly and Reggie have dinner and he
fills her in on the Q's.
As Jason enters the living room, Carly starts asking him about renovations
to the penthouse. Jason tells her that she knows Sonny is coming home and
she has to leave. They are going house hunting today. Jason is ready to
go, but Carly is reluctant. She tries to talk Jason out of finding her a
new place to live, by saying that it wouldn't be good for Michael. Michael
is going to feel like they are playing musical houses. Jason tells her
that it is time. The penthouse is Sonny's place and he isn't going to want
Carly there. Sonny's temper isn't the greatest right now. Sonny and Jason
don't want Michael to get upset. It's better if Carly and Michael
aren't there. He and Robin will be leaving too. Once Sonny gets back,
things are going to start moving fast. Everybody needs to be in place
before Moreno can make a move. Carly reminds Jason that Michael cried the
whole time he was gone helping Sonny. She doesn't want Michael to be
second fiddle to Sonny. She doesn't want Michael to feel abandoned. She
knows what that is like. She is shocked that this is okay with him? Jason
finally agrees to get an apartment for the three of them, while Robin sets
up an a place for her and Jason. He insists though that this is only so
Michael can get used to the joint custody arrangement of living half of
the week with her and half of the week with Jason.
