Apothikes is a village at the west side of the entrance of the Gulf of Kallonis, and it can be reached by a steep and winding road. When we explored it it was totally deserted and this village at the seaside was full of houses that were falling apart. One of the houses was being restored though. At the end of may the taverna in the harbour (underneath the big trees) was closed, and we didn't see any tourists or other people. There is no really good beach in Apothikes and what we saw was not taken care of, full of plastic and dirt. Maybe they will clean this beach later in the season. A little bit outside the village we could see another beach, but we didn't check on this one.
