 | Sturm Brightblade, the chivalric Solamic Knight has led a difficult life since he was a small child. He is the son of a Knight of Solamnia at a time when Knights are ostracized and thought to do more harm than good and this caused the disappearance of his father. After the disappearance Sturm and his mother moved to Solace where Sturm always played the Knight when his friends Caramon, Kit, and the other boys would play fighting games. His greatest role model throughout his life was the Knight of Solamnia Huma and he believed in the the good gold and silver dragons described in legends when others didn't. He always treated people with honor, he kept his word, and always strived to live by the Code and the Measure. Once he came of age he went on a quest to find his father. He had no luck in finding his father but he did find his father's armor and donned it for the rest of his life. Because of this, he was shunned by true Knights of Solamnia during the War of the Lance because he had not been properly knighted yet he continued to wear the armor. However, during the War of the Lance he got his chance and was knighted but with that came many trials -- he even was stripped of his father's armor. Nevertheless he proved to be a true courageous Knight, have his own group of men and in the battle at the High Clerist Tower he lost his life, battling Kitiara and her Dragon Skye, before he ever got to see the good dragons. He was compared to Huma and after his death he became the stuff of legends. His legacy was carried on, however, in his son, Steel Brightblade, who later became an honorable Knight of Tahkisis (Dragons of Summer Flame). |
