 | Raistlin Majere, twin brother to Caramon Majere. Though he appears to be more frail than his twin, he proves to be the strongest. He was born sickly and was a small child which caused him to be ostracized by his young peers. His mother was a seer, but she often found her visions more enticing than her real life, but this is where Raistlin acquired his magical abilities. He practiced sleight of hand tricks when he was younger and was a clever, cynical child, but he was always ready to defend or help the unfortunate, the people who faced the same ridicule as he. When he was young he attented a school of the magical arts (with some help form Kitiara) but soon found that he was smarter than the teacher and he grew bored. He used his abilities to heal the sick and such but at 18 he was called upon to take the test at the Tower of High Sorcery. He was the youngest to ever take the test and he passed with red robes -- but with the help he did not want. During the test he met Fistandantilus and traded his life for the chance to pass the test, therefore being cursed with the hourglass eyes, golden skin, and weak lungs. He then turned even more cynical and scared many people but he always had to rely on Caramon to help him and this he did not like. He was jealous of his brother's physical strength and began to ponder if he and his brother should have been one person. He was the magical companion, able to save them in a bind but he was feared by his companions and Raistlin liked it that way. He was on a constant quest for power and he almost acheived it when he donned his black robes and battled the Dark Queen herself after he had taken Fistandatilus's life, but he did not succeed, knowing that his triumph would cause Krynn to become a wasteland and therefore spending an eternity in the Abyss, with his dark majesty. |
