General History

The USS Argo was originally to be a Excelsior-class starship, part of an order by Starfleet Command made in 2336. The order was delayed, however, by a restructuring of the Admiralty, and the construction of NCC-55267 was put on hold indefinately. In 2373, the order was officially cancelled, and the name and registry number was reassigned to a Kelvin-class starship in preproduction at T'Pau shipyards orbiting Vulcan. After a seven-month trial, the Argo launched from Deep Space 12 on Stardate 52989.3 under Commander Kittiana DeKrenner, and began her mission of exploring the galaxy and defending the Federation.
After Captain DeKrenner's reassignment in 2376, the ship has changed hands twice, first to Commander Jacob Wayne, who was recalled on emergency before his first mission and replaced by Commander Andrew Kramer. The Argo would be taken from active service in early 2378 for a major refit, and then-Captain Kramer was transferred to a position in Starfleet Intelligence. Commander John Mullen Ronan would oversee the refit, before Captain Kramer returned to the helm on Stardade 55704.

The Argo is currently a member of Task Force 38's Task Group Four, tasked with diplomatic and defensive activities primarily along the Cardassian border.
