In Greek legend, the Argo was the ship on which Jason and his fifty adventurers, the Argonauts, embarked on their quest for the Golden Fleece. This was the first galley ever to be built, and on her decks stood the greatest heroes of her time. Named in that ship's honor, this starship Argo is a vessel dedicated to a different kind of quest. Walking the halls of this vessel are men and women dedicated to Starfleet and the United Federation of Planets. This ship's mission is to protect and defend the freedom of the Federation, and to gain knowledge and enlightenment as to the nature of the universe and those who live together in it. And in the eyes of history, perhaps this ship and crew will make a legend of their own.
