Just read and enjoyed the shipper email and thought you might like another shipper spectrum for comparison:

Goopy Shippers - would like XF to become a sitcom or soap opera; in fanfic, write formula romance

Moonless Shippers - maintain that the scriptwriters can resolve the sexual tension without going the infamous Moonlighter route; in fanfic, write adventure/mystery/technohorror stories with RST

Reluctant Shippers - think that a nonsexual relationship would be a Good Thing, or at least different, but realise that what Carter has given us is an unconsummated sexual relationship; fanfic can go either way, depending on views of canon

Friendshippers - insist that Moose & Squirrel do have a relationship, just a nonsexual one; fanfic either doesn't go there or shows a nonsexual friendship

Realists (one guess where I fall on this spectrum) - or Dys Shippers, who recognise that the relationship is disfunctional - neither of them is capable[1] of a mature[2] relationship, sexual or nonsexual[3]; fanfic either doesn't go there or shows how it would probably go wrong

Of course, this spectrum includes a bunch of NoRomos under Friendshippers ...

Did you have a problem with a couple of definitions there? I had a couple of quibbles, and here are Lee's replies.

N.V. says: WHAT ABOUT UST?
Lee says: "It's discontinuous. Realists recognise the UST, Friendshippers discount it, Reluctant Shippers acknowledge it. Moonless and Goopy Shippers embrace it."

[2] N.V. says: ALRIGHT, WHAT'S YER TECHNICAL DEFINTION FOR "MATURE", THEN?
Lee says: " "Mature" in this context is still defined more by what it isn't than what it is. It is not a euphemism for "sexual". The Freudian definition is wrong. It has nothing to do with orgasm locale.

"It might be easier to cite where M&S need to mature. M needs to notice other people when they're not bleeding or in a coma and put himself out for them; S needs to put herself into her list of priorities. M needs a crash course in investigation; S needs one in assertiveness and a remedial course in skepticism. Both need to learn how to network."

[3] N.V. says: I'D LIKE TO THINK I WASN'T WATCHING A SHOW ABOUT EMOTIONAL INFANTS, Y'KNOW.
Lee says: "I'd like that myself, but 1013 keeps messing up."
