The citizens of Springfield riot after a boring Continental Soccer Association match between Mexico and Portugal. Afterword the Simpsons decide to make their home more secure. Without the money for an electronic security system, Homer decides to but a gun Homer, though excited about his purchase, manages to make it through the five-day waiting period. Marge is shocked that Homer bought a gun and demands that he get rid of it. Homer asks her to attend an NRA meeting, with the intention of showing her that the Simpson household needs a gun. After a dinnertable gun accident, Marge pleads with Homer to get rid of the gun. He agrees, but Marge soon discovers that he lied. She leaves the house and takes the kids with her. Homer goes on to host an NRA meeting that night, but the members kick him out when they see how recklessly he uses his pistol. He goes to the sleezy hotel where Marge and the kids are staying and tells her that he's gotten rid of the gun. As they check out of the hotel, Snake runs into the lobby, brandishing a knife and demanding the contents of the register. Homer pulls his gun on Snake, breaking up the robbery. Homer apologizes to Marge for lying to her again, saying that the gun had a hypnotic hold on him--she forgives him and is about to throw away the pistol when she decides to keep it for herself.
