Eastern Kentucky University coach Samantha Williams started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Jayla Johnson, 5-11 Sr. Bria Bass, 6-3 So. Emma Hacker, 5-9 Fr. Alice Recanati, and 5-10 Fr. Kendall Wingler. Jacksonville State University coach Rick Pietri countered with 5-11 Jr. Kennedy Gavin, 5-11 Jr. Yamia Johnson, 6-0 Sr. Jessie Day, 5-6 Sr. Taylor Hawks, and 5-9 Sr. Kiana Johnson.
Eastern Kentucky got off to a fast start and led 20-11 after the first quarter but Jacksonville State outscored the Colonels 23-2 in the second quarter on their way to a 73-55 victory. Jacksonville State shot 47.1% from the field including 10 of 20 from the three point line. The Gamecocks connected on 15 of 16 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 18 Eastern Kentucky turnovers. Eastern Kentucky shot 41.5% from the field including four of 20 from beyond the arc. The Colonels connected on seven of nine free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 16 Jacksonville State turnovers.
5-5 Jr. Imari Martin led Jacksonville State with 24 points including six three point baskets, four of four free throws, and four assists. 5-6 So. Nekiyah Thompson added 13 points including four of four free throws and seven assists. Kennedy Gavin recorded 12 points and five rebounds. 5-5 Jr. Kyra Williams chipped in with nine points and three rebounds.
Kendall Wingler led Eastern Kentucky with 16 points including three three point baskets and three rebounds. Alice Recanati added 11 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Jayla Johnson recorded 11 points and four rebounds. Bria Bass added nine points and 10 rebounds.
