Lexington Christian Academy defeated a good Pikeville team tonight 35-13 despite still not having the services of playmaker Xavier Brown who is recovering from an injury.  LCA recorded 21 first downs and 375 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized four times for 40 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Pikeville recorded 16 first downs and 293 yards of total offense.  The Panthers were penalized twice for 20 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

Drew Nieves led LCA’s ground game with 60 yards on 10 carries.  Tyler Morris carried the ball 10 times for 58 yards and two touchdowns.  Jeffrey Selby added 28 yards on seven carries.  Drew Nieves completed 18 of 24 passes for 218 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  Mason Moore caught seven passes for 100 yards.  Will Vernon added four receptions for 47 yards.  Jeffrey Selby caught a 33 yard touchdown pass and Chance McGaughey added an eight yard scoring reception.  Mattie Lebryk led the defense with two solo and eight assisted tackles.  Will Vernon and Chance McGaughey each recorded four solo and two assisted tackles.  Mason Moore recorded two interceptions including one he returned 35 yards for a touchdown and Will Nichols recovered a fumble.

Blake Birchfield led Pikeville’s ground game with 58 yards on 19 carries.  Brayden Thomas carried the ball six times for 55 yards and a touchdown.  Nate Collins added 31 yards on five carries.  Isaac McNamee completed nine of 20 passes for 157 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions.  Zac Lockhart caught two passes for 104 yards and a touchdown.  Blake Birchfield added four receptions for 40 yards.  Nate Collins led the defense with seven solo and five assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.  Barrett Caudill added eight solo and two assisted tackles.  Zac Lockhart recorded four solo and four assisted tackles.  Logan Reed recovered a fumble.

Covington Catholic continues to roll with a 38-3 victory over Simon Kenton.  Covington Catholic recorded 22 first downs and 453 yards of total offense.  They were penalized once for five yards and had a pass intercepted.  Simon Kenton recorded 16 first downs and 260 yards of total offense.  The Pioneers were penalized four times for 31 yards and had one pass intercepted.

Owen Nally led Covington Catholic’s ground attack with 83 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries.  Ryan Schnieder carried the ball seven times for 52 yards and a touchdown.  Caleb Jacob completed 20 of 30 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  Ethan Reardon caught five passes for 106 yards.  Owen Nally added four receptions for 29 yards and a touchdown.  Ryan Schnieder caught three passes for 79 yards and a touchdown.  Aiden Jones led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss. Sam France added five solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss.  Ben Dickhaus recorded five solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards.  Max Lawrie recorded three solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 12 yards.  Robby Sandfoss added two solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 17 yard loss.

Jayden Lawson led Simon Kenton’s ground game with 131 yards on 15 carries.  Chase Crone completed 12 of 23 passes for 98 yards.  Trey Little caught four passes for 43 yards.  Caleb Livers and Luke Morrison each caught three passes for 33 yards respectively.  Caleb Livers returned one punt for 10 yards.  Marcus Courtney returned three kickoffs for 53 yards with a long return of 25 yards.  Landon Meyer led the defense with seven solo and one assisted tackles.  Nate Walker added seven solo tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 15 yards.  Josh Bowling recorded six solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards.  Daniel Fagan added five solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards.

Lincoln County recorded 405 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground in a 46-24 victory over Rockcastle County.  Lincoln County recorded 15 first downs and 466 yards of total yardage.  The Patriots were penalized four times for 30 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Rockcastle County recorded 14 first downs and 241 yards of total offense.  The Rockets were penalized twice for 15 yards.

Clayton Davis led Lincoln County’s ground game with 208 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries.  Lee Amon carried the ball seven times for 100 yards and two touchdowns.  Thaeden Garr recorded 53 yards and a touchdown on four carries.  Benjamin Harris carried the ball twice for 36 yards and a touchdown.  Clayton Davis completed three of five passes for 61 yards.  Lee Amon caught two passes for 51 yards.  Hunter Hanley led the defense with six solo and four assisted tackles.  Lee Amon added seven solo and three assisted tackles.  Cody Miracle recorded five solo and three assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Clayton Davis also recorded five solo and three assisted tackles.  Dalton Board recovered two fumbles.

Noah Parkey led Rockcastle County’s ground game with 61 yards on 16 carries.  Matthew Chasteen added 59 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.  Noah Parkey completed three of eight passes for 89 yards and two touchdowns.  Drew Mink caught two passes for 65 yards and a touchdown.  Reese Coguer added a 24 yard touchdown reception.  Reese Coguer returned two kickoffs for 43 yards.  Jeremiah Mills led the defense with four solo and six assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses.  Landen Broaddus added one solo and four assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.  Matthew Chasteen recorded three solo and three assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.

Walton-Verona rolled up 341 yards and six touchdowns on the ground to defeat previously undefeated Holy Cross by the score of 40-28.  Walton-Verona recorded 20 first downs and 375 yards of total offense.  The Bearcats were penalized five times for 65 yards and lost a fumble.  Holy Cross recorded 18 first downs and 272 yards of total offense.  The Crusaders were penalized four times for 30 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Jacob Gaines led Walton-Verona’s ground game with 210 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries.  Wiley Baker carried the ball seven times for 48 yards and Tyson Beach added 46 yards on eight carries.  Johnathan Freeman recorded 32 yards and three touchdowns on eight carries.  Trey Hatmaker completed five of eight passes for 34 yards.  Colton Shawver caught three passes for 21 yards.  Logan Warren returned three kickoffs for 56 yards.  Robert Streine led the defense with eight solo tackles and recovered a fumble.  Trey Ferguson added four solo tackles and intercepted a pass.  Dawson Catlett recorded four solo tackles.

Lexington Catholic defeated Lafayette by the score of 43-0.  Lexington Catholic recorded 12 first downs and 375 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized three times for 16 yards.  Lafayette recorded eight first downs and 123 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized five times for 33 yards.

Darin Eldridge led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 48 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.  Blake Busson carried the ball once for 44 yards.  Walker Hall added 43 yards on three carries.  Jack Gohmann carried the ball seven times for 10 yards and two touchdowns.  Jack Gohmann completed six of 10 passes for 224 yards and three touchdowns.  JD Woodall caught two passes for 60 yards and a touchdown.  Jackson Klein added two receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown.  Blake Busson caught a 97 yard touchdown pass.  Jackson Corbett returned one punt for 63 yards.  JD Woodall returned one punt for 13 yards and one kickoff return for 50 yards.  Lance Wasik led the defense with three solo and three assisted tackles with 3.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 16 yards.  Jackson Corbett added three solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 15 yard loss.  Jack Monday recorded three solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 10 yards.

Southwestern trailed 27-21 at halftime but went to a ground-and-pound offense in the second half to defeat Madison Central by the score of 41-35.  Madison Central had their best offensive output of the season effectively moving the ball on the ground and through the air.  Southwestern rolled up 296 yards and six touchdowns on the ground on 47 carries for a 6.3 yard average.  Southwestern recorded 23 first downs and 376 yards of total offense.  The Warriors were penalized seven times for 61 yards and had two passes intercepted.  Madison Central recorded 15 first downs and 345 yards of total offense.  The Indians were penalized 10 times for 90 yards and lost a fumble.

Connor Crisp led Southwestern’s ground game with 137 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries.  Giddeon Brainard added 85 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.  Tanner Wright carried the ball 19 times for 82 yards and two touchdowns.  Chanler Crabtree completed nine of 14 passes for 80 yards with two interceptions.  Mason Hibbard caught three passes for 35 yards.  Ian Ware added two receptions for 17 yards.  Ian Ware returned three kickoffs for 96 yards with a long return of 45 yards.  Maddox Mink led the defense with six solo and seven assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a four yard loss.  Ben Coomer added one solo and seven assisted tackles.  Dylan Asher recovered a fumble.

Adrien Parks led Madison Central’s ground game with 153 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries.  Canon Scenters completed 11 of 17 passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns.  Zach Holbrook caught four passes for 30 yards.  Jayden West added three receptions for 128 yards and two touchdowns.  Jayden West returned three kickoffs for 51 yards with a long return of 26 yards.  Treyvion Parks returned two kickoffs for 29 yards including a long return of 17 yards.  Edgren Sweat led the defense with six solo and six assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in an eight yard loss.  Brayden Prewitt added two solo and eight assisted tackles.  Treyvion Parks recorded four solo and four assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 14 yards.  Jeffrey Kinley added three solo and four assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss, and intercepted a pass he returned for four yards.

Paul Laurence Dunbar’s Frank Illunga scored on a seven yard run and Parker Hadley kicked the extra point to tie the score 28-28 early in the final quarter,  Bryan Station’s Damin Green returned the ensuing kickoff for 57 yards and a touchdown and Xavier Hale kicked the extra point to make the score 35-28 with 11:41 left in the game.  Bryan Station was able to make the defensive plays down the stretch to hold on for the victory.  Bryan Station recorded 18 first downs and 435 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized three times for 15 yards.  Paul Laurence Dunbar recorded 19 first downs and 387 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized eight times for 32 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Joseph Bond led the Bryan Station ground game with 166 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries.  Mikaleb Coffey completed 14 of 22 passes for 239 yards and one touchdown.  Damin Green caught six passes for 87 yards.  Carl Mundford added two receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown.  Tylin Israel recorded two receptions for 24 yards.  AhTraivon Jenkins chipped in with two receptions for 23 yards.  Damin Green returned one kickoff for 57 yards and a touchdown.  Jason Hocker led the defense with four solo and four assisted tackles.  Amodeus Taylor added four solo and one assisted tackles.  Yedide Yah Sledge recorded two solo and five assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a seven yard loss.  Giovanni Watson returned a pass he returned 27 yards.  Ice Bruner also intercepted a pass.

Kamarion Robinson led Paul Laurence Dunbar’s ground game with 71 yards on 21 carries.  Oumar Toure carried the ball seven times for 46 yards.  Frank Illunga scored a touchdown on the ground.  Jake Smith completed 12 of 23 passes for 249 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions.  Frank Illunga caught four passes for 97 yards and a touchdown.  Luke Olive caught two passes for 79 yards and a touchdown.  Howard Jackson added two receptions for 36 yards and a touchdown.  Cyreis Bright returned five kickoffs for 93 yards with a long return of 24 yards.  Josiah Brown led the defense with eight solo and two assisted tackles.  Mason Hayslett added seven solo and three assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling four yards.  Connor Smith recorded six solo and four assisted tackles.  Camry Dryden added two solo and five assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling four yards.

Malachi Williams scored on a three yard run with 8.9 seconds left in the game to give Central an 18-16 come-from-behind victory over Franklin County in a much anticipated matchup between two of the best teams in 4A football.  Franklin County led 16-6 after three quarters but Central kept pounding the ball on the ground with 6-2 220 pound RB/LB Malach Williams carrying the load.  Central recorded 304 yards of total offense and lost two fumbles and had one pass intercepted.  Franklin County recorded 296 yards of total offense but QB Nick Broyles was slowed by an ankle injury.

Malachi Williams led Central’s ground game with 192 yards and two touchdowns on 40 carries.  Justin Bush carried the ball 10 times for 36 yards and Vernon Duncan recorded 25 yards and a touchdown on six carries.  Vernon Duncan completed three of seven passes for 51 yards with one interception.  Jaylen Thomas caught two passes for 42 yards.  Jaylen Thomas led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles.  Malachi Williams added three solo and three assisted tackles.  D Jure Johnson recorded four solo and one assisted tackles. 

Kaden Moorman led Franklin County’s ground attack with 116 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.  Nick Broyles completed 15 of 24 passes for 155 yatrds.  Fred Farrier caught five passes for 56 yards.  Kaden Moorman added three receptions for 51 yards.  Peyton Ledford led the defense with eight solo and nine assisted tackles.  Brenton Sears added one solo and 14 assisted tackles.  Jayden Mattison recorded three solo and 11 assisted tackles.  Zach Claudio and Fred Farrier each recovered a fumble and Braedyn Tracy intercepted a pass.

Lexington Christian Academy trailed 10-9 after three quarters but outscored the Admirals 25-20 in the final quarter to earn a 34-30 victory.  LCA was without the services of multi-talented Xavier Brown for the game and Drew Nieves was unavailable until halftime.  The young but talented Admirals gave LCA all they could handle tonight until Drew Nieves completed a 44 yard pass to Mason Moore and Andrew Dobbs added the conversion kick with 32 seconds left on the clock.  LCA recorded 15 first downs and 339 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized five times for 45 yards.  Danville recorded 19 first downs and 403 yards of total offense.  The Admirals were penalized three times for 25 yards, lost two fumbles, and had one pass intercepted.

Jeffrey Selby led the LCA ground game with 43 yards on 12 carries.  Drew Nieves completed nine of 17 passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns.  Mason Moore completed four of five passes for 83 yards and one touchdown.  Elijah Hammond completed five of 10 passes for 32 yards.  Mason Moore caught five passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns.  Will Vernon added three receptions for 78 yards and one touchdown.  Mattie Lebryk caught four passes for 32 yards.  Jeffrey Selby recorded four receptions for 30 yards.  Will Vernon returned one punt for 17 yards.  Josh Tejerina returned two kickoffs for 38 yards.  Evan Brown, Will Vernon, and Jeffrey Selby each returned one kickoff for 33, 22, and 16 yards respectively.  Andrew Dobbs kicked field goals of 23, 39, 43, and 38 yards.  Mattie Lebryk led the defense with five solo and 11 assisted tackles.  Jeffrey Selby added one solo and 10 assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.  Elijah Hammond recorded three solo and three assisted tackles.

Caleb Burns led Danville’s ground game with 109 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries.  Sage Dawson carried the ball 10 times for 71 yards and a touchdown.  Sage Dawson completed 16 of 24 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  Corydon Crawford caught seven passes for 100 yards and one touchdown.  Bryce Johnson added four receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown.  Blake Jones caught four passes for 37 yards.  Corydon Crawford returned four kickoffs for 117 yards.  Xzavion Grey and Demauuriah Grey led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles each.  Caleb Burns and Bryce Johnson each recorded four solo and one assisted tackles.
