Madison Central coach Brad Lovely started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Gretchen Hammitt, 5-9 Sr. Taleya Todd, 5-11 Sr. Jekauri McKeithen, 5-4 Fr. Eve Carter, and 5-5 Jr. Brianna Bierbaum.  Garrard County coach Jimmy McCulley countered with 5-7 Sr. Brittany Butner, 5-6 Sr. Madisyn Neeley, 5-10 So. Jade Pevley, 5-4 Sr. Nancy Gonzalez, and 5-5 Sr. Nancy Gonzalez.

Garrard County trailed 22-19 at halftime but outscored Madison Central 40-21 in the second half to earn a 59-43 victory over the Indians.  There were five ties and four lead changes in the game.  Garrard County shot 37% from the field including six of 18 from the three point line.  The Golden Lions connected on 19 of 22 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 16 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 29.3% from the field including zero of eight from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 19 of 30 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 11 Garrard County turnovers.

Carolina Gonzalez led Garrard County with 19 points including three three point baskets, two rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Nancy Gonzalez added 15 points, six rebounds, and two steals.  Brittany Butner recorded 11 points including three three point baskets and eight rebounds.  Jade Pevley added 10 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Taleya Todd led Madison Central with 18 points including six of eight free throws, four rebounds, and two steals.  Eve Carter added 10 points including six of nine free throws, three rebounds, and four steals.  Jekauri McKeithen recorded nine points, 12 rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals.  McKeithen also reached the 1,000 point scoring plateau tonight.

George Rogers Clark dominated play tonight to earn a 63-26 victory over Woodford County in their first game in their new gymnasium.  GRC shot 44.8% from the field including four of 15 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on seven of 15 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 23 Woodford County turnovers.  Woodford County shot 26.3% from the field including two of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Yellow Jackets connected on four of 10 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored three points off eight GRC turnovers.

Kennedy Igo led GRC with 20 points including four three point baskets and two steals.  Brianna Byars added 19 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots, and three steals.  Tyra Flowers recorded nine points, nine rebounds, and five steals.  Shelbi Wilson chipped in with eight points, five rebounds, and three assists.  Trinity Gay added four points, four rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

Abby Moffett led Woodford County with nine points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and two steals.  Delaney Enlow added six points, three rebounds, and four blocked shots.  6-1 Sr. Kayla Harlow recorded four points and eight rebounds.

George Rogers Clark recorded a double overtime 72-70 victory over Madison Southern in their first game in their new gymnasium.  Madison Southern had two shots from the three point line with seconds to go but neither connected allowing GRC to earn the victory.  The score was tied 10 ties and there were 11 lead changes.  GRC shot 50% from the field including six of 16 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 20 of 31 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 14 Madison Southern turnovers.  Madison Southern shot 42.9% from the field including 10 of 26 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on 18 of 24 free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 22 GRC turnovers.

Lincoln Bush proved to be a difficult matchup in the paint with his athleticism, height, and length, and led the Cardinals with 22 points, 13 rebounds, and three assists.  Jared Wellman added 18 points including five three point baskets and four rebounds.  KJ Rucker recorded 11 points, five rebounds, and five assists.  KJ Rucker and Jared Wellman fouled out for the Cardinals.

Hunter Buchanan led Madison Southern with 23 points including seven three point baskets.  Chad Fugate added 22 points including eight of nine free throws.  Nate Turner recorded 12 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  Nate Turner, Colby Sebastian, and Chad Fugate all fouled out.

Lexington Christian Academy led 48-35 after three quarters but had to withstand a Tates Creek rally to earn a 69-67 victory.  LCA shot 57.1% from the field including eight of 14  from the three point line.  The Eagles connected on 13 of 20free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 15 points off nine Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 52.1% from the field including eight of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Commodores connected on nine of 12 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 11 LCA turnovers.

Tanner Walton led LCA with 29 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.  Zeke Grier added 13 points including five of six free throws and three assists.  Chase Widmer recorded nine points including three three point baskets and four rebounds.

Amari Taylor led Tates Creek with 25 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds.  Maxwell Morton added 11 points including three three point baskets.  5-7 Sr. Kaleb Givens recorded 10 points including three three point baskets.  Cion Townsend chipped in with nine points and three assists.

Lafayette defeated Bryan Station by the score of 92-81.  Bryan Station led 44-41 at halftime but Lafayette outscored Bryan Station 25-16 to regain control of the game.  The score was tied six times and there was one lead change in the game.  Lafayette shot 48.1% from the field including eight of 23 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on 34 of 44 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 10 Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 47.5% from the field including nine of 25 from beyond the arc.  The Defenders connected on 14 of 21 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 11 Lafayette turnovers. 

Ray Surratt led Lafayette with 38 points including two three point baskets, 10 of 14 free throws, 18 rebounds, five assists, and six blocked shots.  Will Stanfield added 18 points including three three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Campbell DeYoung recorded 13 points, seven rebounds, and two assists.  6-3 So. Trey Skaggs, 5-10 Jr. Luke Coleman, and 6-1 Jr. Braeden Ray.  Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-3 Sr. Luke Wedding, 6-4 Sr. Peyton Pelfrey, 6-2 Sr. Jackson Smith, 6-2 So. Jack Gohmann, and 6-2 Jr. Ben Johnson.

Madison Central entered the game with an 11-14 record on the road at Lexington Catholic with a 22-2 record.  Mismatch on paper but you can never take an Allen Feldhaus coached team lightly and I will guarantee that Coach Salsman and the Lexington Catholic team did not take the game for granted.  The game certainly lived up to my expectations as Lexington Catholic defeated Madison Central in overtime by the score of 78-75. 

Lexington Catholic took a 35-26 lead at halftime but Madison Central rallied behind 13 points by Kole Browne took a 50-45 lead after three quarters and extended the lead to 55-45 early in the fourth quarter.  Ben Johnson scored 13 points in the final period and took a 67-65 lead on a Jackson Smith layup with 13 seconds on the clock.  However Madison Central scored on a layup by 5-11 8^th Grader Kenyatta Hardge with one second left on the clock to tie the score at 676-67 and force overtime.  Lexington Catholic raced out to a five point lead in overtime and connected on eight of 10 free throws to pull out the victory.  There were four lead changes and four ties in this game.

Lexington Catholic shot 47.3% from the field including nine of 23 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on 17 of 20 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 13 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 55.8% from the field including 11 of 25 from beyond the arc. The Indians connected on six of 12 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 10 points off five Lexington Catholic turnovers. 

Ben Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 42 points including seven three point baskets, seven of eight free throws, three rebounds, and three assists.  Jack Gohmann added 17 points and three rebounds.  Lexington Catholic’s “glue” player Jackson Smith recorded 10 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and two steals.  Smith was two of three from the free throw line and six of eight from the free throw line.

Kole Browne led Madison Central with 37 points including six three point baskets.  Braeden Ray added 13 points including two three point baskets and seven rebounds.  6-2 Fr. Jaylen Davis recorded 11 points including three three point baskets, three rebounds, and four assists.  5-11 8^th Grade Kenyatta Hardge chipped in with four points and eight rebounds.

Harrison County led by 11 points midway through the second quarter but Madison Central outscored the Fillies 19-2 in the third quarter on their way to a 48-31 victory.  The second half was disastrous for Harrison County as they only scored eight points and shot 9.1% from the field after the intermission.  The score was tied three times and there were four lead changes in the game.  Madison Central controlled the boards as they held a 47-27 advantage in rebounds and outscored Harrison County 30-14 in the paint.

Madison Central shot 42.2% from the field including one of four from the three point line.  The Indians connected on nine of 24 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 15 Harrison County turnovers.  Harrison County shot 21.4% from the field including one of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Fillies connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 20 Madison Central turnovers.
