South Warren defeated Johnson Central by a score of 36-6.  South Warren recorded 22 first downs and 362 yards of total offense.  The Spartans were penalized six times for 48 yards and had two passes intercepted.  Johnson Central recorded three first downs and 130 yards of total offense.  The Golden Eagles were penalized six times for 63 yards, lost two fumbles, and had two passes intercepted.

Kayron Namvong led South Warren’s ground game with 121 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries.  Ryder Litten carried the ball 17 times for 50 yards.  Ryder Litten completed nine of 18 passes for 154 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions.  Bryan Cummings caught four passes for 78 yards.  CJ Hayes added two receptions for 23 yards.  Chase Japp caught a 24 yard touchdown pass.  Austin McElwain led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.  Devante Colton added five solo and two assisted tackles and scored on a 22 yard fumble recovery return.  Jacob Wilde recorded two solo and one assisted tackles and scored on a six yard fumble recovery return.  Bryan Cummings intercepted two passes.

Bryce Skaggs led Johnson Central’s ground game with 63 yards and a touchdown on six carries.  Gunner Slone carried the ball eight times for 27 yards.  Bryce Workman completed one of eight passes for 40 yards with two interceptions.  Geordon Blanton caught one pass for 40 yards.  Geordon  Blanton led the defense with 10 solo and five assisted tackles.  Nick Wilcox added five solo and five assisted tackles.  Aaron King recorded five solo and four assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.  Blake Gamble and Blake Martin each intercepted a pass.

Belfry shut down the high octane Lexington Catholic offense and dominated with their punishing ground game in a 43-0 victory.  Belfry recorded 20 first downs and 396 yards of total offense.  The Pirates were penalized five times for 35 yards.  Lexington Catholic recorded five first downs and 117 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized five times for 60 yards.

Andrew Fletcher led Belfry’s ground game with 125 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries.  Xondre Willis carried the ball 12 times for 89 yards and a touchdown.  Derek Wellman added 77 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries.  Noah Corbett carried the ball 10 times for 63 yards and a touchdown.  Noah Corbett was zero for one in the passing department.  Austin Hall led the defense with four solo and three assisted tackles.  Devin Varney added two solo and three assisted tackles.  Raquan Horton recorded two solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.

Jaylen Jones led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 16 yards on seven carries.  Andy Thompson carried the ball five times for 15 yards.  Andy Thompson completed eight of 16 passes for 53 yards.  Legend Brumbaugh completed four of seven passes for 18 yards.  Donovan Morris caught three passes for seven yards.  JJ Ogbogu added two receptions for 30 yards.  Andy Thompson returned two kickoffs for 91 yards with a long return of 70 yards. Sid Sharp led the defense with 10 solo and two assisted tackles.  A. Lauterbach added seven solo and two assisted tackles.  Austin Pedroche recorded four solo and five assisted tackles.

Mayfield defeated Newport Central Catholic by a score of 17-7.  Mayfield recorded 16 first downs and 269 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized eight times for 60 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Newport Central Catholic recorded 14 first downs and 217 yards of total offense.  The Thoroughbreds were penalized five times for 40 yards and lost three fumbles.

Trajon Bright led Mayfield’s ground game with 42 yards on 23 carries.  Landon Arnett carried the ball four times for 22 yards.  Landon Arnett completed 17 of 35 passes for 208 yards and one touchdown with one interception.  Kevin Caldwell caught six passes for 81 yards and a touchdown.  Lane Kennemore added five receptions for 65 yards.  Michael Walker caught five passes for 48 yards.  Kincer Arnett led the defense with five solo and three assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.  Kyle Hurt added five solo and two assisted tackles with 3.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 10 yards.  Keelan Murphy recorded three solo and one assisted tackles and recovered three fumbles.  Murphy also recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

Jacob Smith added Newport Central Catholic’s ground game with 60 yards on 24 carries.  P. Henschen completed 10 of 18 passes for 136 yards and a touchdown.  Trent Wrobleski caught four passes for 74 yards and a touchdown.  Jacob Smith added two receptions for 31 yards.  Kobe Tallon led the defense with seven solo and five assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards.  Trent Wrobleski added five solo tackles.  Erik Anderson recorded four solo and one assisted tackles.

Male defeated Lafayette 41-14 to claim the Class 6A Championship and finish the season at a perfect 15-0.  Male recorded 20 first downs and 379 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized seven times for 35 yards and had three passes intercepted.  Lafayette recorded 22 first downs and 382 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized five times for 56 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

Devin Gentry led Male’s ground game with 46 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.  Hayden Shelton completed 15 of 27 passes for 341 yards and four touchdowns with three interceptions.  Zackery Smith caught eight passes for 150 yards and a touchdown.  Keion Wakefield added four receptions for 78 yards and two touchdowns.  Marcus Clark caught two passes for 59 yards.  Ethan Britt added a 54 yard touchdown reception.  Zachary Hall led the defense with eight solo and five assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards and intercepted a pass.  James Todd added five solo and five assisted tackles.  Tony Smyzer created havoc tonight as 2.5 of his tackles resulted in losses totaling 21 yards.  Demetrius Holt scored on an 81 yard interception return.

Walker Wood led Lafayette’s ground game with 136 yards and a touchdown on 33 carries.  Walker Wood completed 22 of 36 passes for 229 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions.  Mason Alstatt caught nine passes for 64 yards.  M. Guilfoil added five receptions for 52 yards.  Quinten Brown added four receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown.  Ean Shaw led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 30 yards.  Jordan Thomas added three solo and two assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.

Pulaski County scored early on a George Gregory 3 yard run and a conversion kick set up by a 54 yard kickoff return by Gregory to the Bowling Green 20 to start the game.  However, it was all Bowling Green after that as they scored 21 unanswered points to earn a 21-7 victory.  Bowling Green recorded 12 first downs and 349 yards of total offense.  The Purples were penalized 10 times for 87 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Pulaski County recorded 14 first downs and 222 yards of total offense.  The maroons were penalized three times for 27 yards and lost a fumble.

Jacob Yates led Bowling Green’s ground attack with 72 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.  Jamale Carothers carried the ball 17 times for 61 yards.  Clark Payne completed 19 of 27 passes for 199 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  DeAngelo Wilson caught seven passes for 112 yards and a touchdown.  Trey Fant returned a punt 77 yards for a touchdown.  Dalan Cofer led the defense with nine solo and three assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 23 yards.  Ahmerian Brown added five solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a seven yard loss and recovered a fumble.

George Gregory led Pulaski County’s ground game with 61 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.  Riley Hall completed 23 of 35 passes for 169 yards.  Jake Johnson caught 14 passes for 101 yards.  George Gregory added eight receptions for 56 yards.  George Gregory returned one kickoff for 54 yards.  Jake New led the defense with seven solo and six assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a seven yard loss.  C. Holman added eight solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a four yard loss.  Mason Helton recorded five solo and four assisted tackles.  Jake Johnson intercepted one pass he returned for 62 yards.

The score was tied 21-21 after three quarters but Pikeville scored the first 21 points of the final quarter on their way to a 42-28 victory over Beechwood.  Pikeville recorded 19 first downs and 504 yards of total offense.  The Panthers were penalized six times for 45 yards and had one pass intercepted.  Beechwood recorded 22 first downs and 320 yards of total offense.  The Tigers were penalized once for five yards, lost a fumble, and had one pass intercepted.

Daric Pugh led Pikeville’s ground game with 239 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries.  Blake Charles carried the ball six times for 47 yards and a touchdown.  Wyatt Battaile completed eight of 13 passes for 177 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.  Cody Charles caught two passes for 45 yards and a touchdown.  Chatlin Jarrell caught two passes for 22 yards and a touchdown.  Blake Charles caught one pass for 67 yards and a touchdown.  Blake Charles led the defense with nine solo and two assisted tackles.  Cody Charles added nine solo tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 11 yards.  M. McDonald recorded seven solo and one assisted tackles.

Friday November 27th

 

Class 1A

 

Beechwood 34  Russellville 25Brett Slusher scored on runs of 12, 4, and 6 yards to lead Beechwood.

 

Pikeville 42  Paintsville 23Wayne Battaile completed 11 of 12 passes for 117 yards and three touchdowns and Daric Pugh carried the ball 32 times for 234 yards and two touchdowns to lead Pikeville.  Kash Daniel, all everything performer for Paintsville was unable to play tonight due to an injury.

 

Class 2A

 

Mayfield 24  DeSales 19Trajon Bright ran for 145 yards and Nick Workman intercepted two passes to lead Mayfield.

 

Newport Central Catholic 15  Danville 9Jake Smith scored on runs of 5 and 1 yard in the closing minutes to lead Newport central Catholic to victory.

 

Class 3A

 

Belfry 42  Corbin 14Xondre Willis carried the ball nine times for 151 yards and two touchdowns and caught a 52 yard touchdown pass.

 

Lexington Catholic 35  Elizabethtown 14JJ Ogbogu caught eight passes for 107 yards and a touchdown and completed three of three passes for 47 yards and a touchdown to lead Lexington Catholic.

 

Class 4A

 

Johnson Central 21  Wayne County 14Geordan Blanton carried the ball five times for 44 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for 126 yards and a touchdown to lead Johnson Central.

 

South Warren 36  Shelby County 6Ryder Litten passed for two touchdowns and scored on runs of 21, 40, and 9 yards to lead south Warren.

 

Class 5A

 

Bowling Green 21  Fern Creek 0Clark Payne completed 14 of 22 passes for 202 yards and three touchdowns.  Jamale Carothers caught five passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns.

 

Pulaski County 41  Highlands 31 George Gregory ran for 132 yards and four touchdowns to lead Pulaski County.

 

Class 6A

 

Lafayette 42  Simon Kenton 28 – Lafayette rallied from a 28-12 deficit to defeat Simon Kenton.  Mason Alstatt carried the ball 22 times for 136 yards and two touchdowns and Walker Wood added 105 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries to lead Lafayette.  Wood also completed 18 of 29 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns and Quinten Brown caught six passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns.

 

Male 50  Central Hardin 0 – Male had a 348-98 advantage in total offense.

Lafayette rallied from a 28-12 deficit in the first half to defeat Simon Kenton by a score of 42-28 and earn a title game against Male.  Lafayette recorded 25 first downs and 542 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized 14 times for 107 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Simon Kenton recorded 18 first downs and 325 yards of total offense.  The Pioneers were penalized seven times for 51 yards and lost three fumbles.

Mason Alstatt led Lafayette’s ground game with 136 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries.  Walker Wood carried the ball 26 times for 105 yards and two touchdowns.  Walker Wood completed 18 of 29 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  Quinten Brown caught six passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns.  M. Guilfoil added five receptions for 44 yards.  M. Silvestri caught two passes for 47 yards.  Branden Layne led the defense with eight solo and four assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 10 yards.  Ean Shaw added six solo and four assisted tackles.  Cameron Morgan recorded five solo and one assisted tackles and recovered a fumble he returned 11 yards.  Tejrin McCoy also recovered a fumble.

Cameron Racke led Simon Kenton’s ground game with 115 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries.  Dillion Powell carried the ball 23 times for 80 yards.  Cameron Racke completed 14 of 19 passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns.  Dillion Powell caught five passes for 27 yards.  Tanner Green added four receptions for 12 yards and a touchdown.  Logan Scott caught three passes for 56 yards and a touchdown.  Dalton Finnell led the defense with 10 solo and five assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 23 yards.  Jacob Harney added five solo and eight assisted tackles.  Brian Carter recorded seven solo and three assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 14 yards and recovered a fumble.

Lexington Catholic rolled up 443 yards of total offense tonight in a 35-14 victory over Elizabethtown and earns a championship game against Belfry.  Lexington Catholic   The Knights took a 14-7 lead late in the second quarter and pulled away in the second half for the victory.  Lexington Catholic recorded 22 first downs and 443 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized four times for 50 yards and lost two fumbles.  Elizabethtown recorded 16 first downs and 262 yards of total offense.  The Panthers were penalized nine times for 75 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Jaylen Jones led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 139 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries.  Andy Thompson carried the ball 21 times for 113 yards.  Andy Thompson completed 14 of 20 passes for 150 yards and a touchdown.  JJ Ogbogu completed three of three passes for 47 yards and a touchdown.   JJ Ogbogu caught eight passes for 107 yards and a touchdown.  Donovan Morris added eight receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown.  Austin Pedroche led the defense with five solo and five assisted tackles.  A. Lauterbach added six solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 13 yards.  Jack Fagot recorded three solo and six assisted tackles.  Davis Rowady chipped in with five solo tackles.  Andy Hickey and Zack Newcomb each intercepted a pass.

Berneil Cecil led Elizabethtown’s ground game with 140 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.  Dalonza Cates carried the ball 10 times for 40 yards.  Jack Wilson completed 10 of 18 passes for 69 yards with two interceptions.  Peyton Payne caught five passes for 44 yards.  Jack Wilson led the defense with nine solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss.  Tyson Brown added seven solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards.  Jay Becherer and Dalonza Cates each recorded six solo tackles.  David Wells and Hunter Sullivan each recovered a fumble.

Pikeville 50  Hazard 6Daric Pugh carried the ball 13 times for 191 yards and three touchdowns.

 

Russellville 41  Bethlehem 20Joshua Bigbee carried the ball 10 times for 83 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns.

Danville 56  Lexington Christian Academy 14 – Danville intercepted five passes and returned three of them for touchdowns.

Belfry 52  Lawrence County 12Xondre Willis carried the ball nine times for 155 yards and a touchdown and Belfry took advantage of Lawrence County’s five turnovers tonight.

 

Elizabethtown 32  Caldwell County 27Jack Wilson threw a 37 yard touchdown pass to Peyton Payne with 1.9 seconds in the game to earn the victory.  Wilson completed 14 of 24 passes for 184 yards and three touchdowns.

 

Lexington Catholic 14  Central 13 – Lexington Catholic rallied from a 13-0 deficit to earn the victory.  Eric Sottile blocked a 23 yard field goal attempt by Sebastian Francisco with seven seconds remaining on the clock to ensure the victory.

Class 4A

 

Johnson Central 27  Scott 26Bryce Workman threw a 30 yard touchdown pass to Geordan Blanton at the horn for the victory.  Roberto London ran for 136 yards and three touchdowns for Scott.

 

Shelby County 44  John Hardin 14Michael Perry ran for 154 yards and scored two on the ground and caught a TD pass.  Malik Manica added 124 yards and two touchdowns on the ground to lead Shelby County.

 

Wayne County 42  Knox Central 14Dalton Garner carried the ball 22 times for 135 yards and three touchdowns.

Bowling Green 41  Owensboro 12 – Bowling Green intercepted four passes and Ahmerian Brown returned two interceptions for touchdowns.  Clark Payne completed 12 of 19 passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns and Jamale Carothers carried the ball 14 times for 106 yards and two touchdowns.

 

Fern Creek 21  South Oldham 20Jamison White carried the ball 22 times for 217 yards and a touchdown.

 

Highlands 44  Covington Catholic 22Nick Kendall carried the ball 25 times for 222 yards and three touchdowns.

 

Pulaski County 28  North Laurel 24Jaylon Conwell carried the ball 11 times for 106 yards and two touchdowns.

 

Class 6A

 

Lafayette 36  Scott County 30Mason Alstatt carried the ball 14 times for 156 yards and two touchdowns and Walker Wood carried the ball 20 times for 127 yards and two touchdowns and Wood completed 14 of 21 passes for 223 yards and a touchdown to lead Lafayette.  Noah Hughes carried the ball 32 times for 177 yards and three touchdowns to lead Scott County.

 

Male 20  Trinity 19 – Trinity missed a conversion kick to tie the game.  Zackery Smith scored on a 45 punt return and caught a 14 yard touchdown pass and Devin Gentry ran for 110 yards and a touchdown to lead Male.

 

Simon Kenton 13  Cooper 12Cameron Racke carried the ball 25 times for 157 yards and a touchdown and Dillion Powell added 148 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries to lead Simon Kenton.
