Hopkinsville coach Tim Haworth started the following lineup: 6-3 So. CJ Henangan, 6-1 Sr. LeDonald Gray, 6-5 Sr. Jaqualis Matlock, 5-11 Fr. Jalen Johnson, and 6-0 Sr. Jordan Gary. Taylor County coach Richard Gatewood countered with 6-4 Jr. Quentin Goodin, 6-4 Sr. Brandon Berry, 6-4 Sr. Austin Webster, 5-11 So. David Sloan, and 6-0 So. Ezra Oliver.
Hopkinsville scored 34 points off 19 Taylor County in a 76-64 victory. Hopkinsville shot 50.9% from the field including five of 11 from the three point line. The Tigers connected on 15 of 22 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and held a 23-10 advantage in bench points. Taylor County shot 40.4% from the field including five of 12 from beyond the arc. The Cardinals connected on 17 of 32 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored five points off 11 Hopkinsville turnovers.
Jaqualis Matlock led a balanced Hopkinsville scoring attack with 16 points and seven rebounds. LeDonald Gray added 11 points and six rebounds. Jordan Gary and CJ Henangan also scored 11 points. 6-2 Sr. AJ Tyler recorded 11 points including three three point baskets.
Quentin Goodin led Taylor County with 23 points including seven of 15 free throws, six rebounds, and four assists. David Sloan added 19 points and eight rebounds. Brandon Berry recorded eight points and six rebounds. 5-11 Sr. Cameron Morgeson also scored eight points.
