Tennessee Tech University coach Steve Payne started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Javon McKay, 6-3 So. DeOndre Haynes, 6-10 Jr. Charles Jackson, 6-1 Jr. Torrance Rowe, and 6-3 Fr. Aleksa Jugovic.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Jeff Neubauer countered with 6-8 Sr. Eric Stutz, 6-7 Sr. Timmy Knipp, 6-8 Sr. Deverin Muff, 6-2 So. Isaac McGlone, and 6-2 Sr. Corey Walden.

Eastern Kentucky propelled by the clutch play of Corey Walden defeated Tennessee Tech by a score of 70-67.  Eastern Kentucky trailed 30-26 at halftime and there were eight ties and 11 lead changes in this game.  Tennessee Tech displayed superiority on the glass as they out rebounded the Colonels 40-24 and held a 19-4 advantage in second chance points.  Eastern Kentucky’s defense turned over Tennessee Tech 12 times and converted their miscues to 17 points.

Eastern Kentucky shot 51% from the field including five of 18 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 15 of 19 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 12 Tennessee Tech turnovers.  Tennessee Tech shot 39% from the field including 10 of 24 from beyond the arc.  The Golden Eagles connected on 11 of 17 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored two points off eight Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

Corey Walden led Eastern Kentucky with 35 points and five steals.  Walden was 11 of 14 from the field including zero for one from beyond the arc and 13 of 15 free throws.  Eric Stutz added 17 points including two three point baskets and five assists.  6-5 Jr. Denzel Richardson chipped in with eight points and four rebounds.

Torrance Rowe led Tennessee Tech with 16 points including two three point baskets and five assists.  Charles Jackson added 15 points, 17 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Javon McKay recorded 13 points and five rebounds.  Aleksa Jugovic chipped in with 10 points including three three point baskets, four assists, and two steals.  6-8 Sr. Dwan Caldwell added seven points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots.
