Ohio-Chillicothe coach AJ McCray started the following lineup: 6-6 Fr, Gabe Odell, 6-2 Jr. Erique Thurman, 6-6 Fr. Devin Carter, 5-11 So. Hayden Mink, and 6-0 Fr. Kjay McKinney.  Eastern Kentucky University coach AW Hamilton countered with 6-8 So. Tre King, 6-2 So. Jomaru Brown, 6-8 Jr. Darius Hicks, 6-0 Jr. Russhard Cruickshank, and 6-3 Sr. Ty Taylor.

 

Eastern Kentucky raced out to a 66-26 halftime lead on their way to a 129-43 victory over Ohio-Chillicothe.  EKU recorded 27 steals and scored 57 points off 37 Ohio-Chillicothe turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 54.7% from the field including 18 of 45 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 17 of 20 free throws, pulled down 48 rebounds, and held a 52-14 advantage in bench scoring.  Ohio-Chillicothe shot 33.3% from the field including five of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Hilltoppers connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored eight points off 10 EKU turnovers.

 

Jomaru Brown led eight Colonels in double figures with 22 points including four three point baskets, four assists, and three steals.  Ty Taylor added 20 points including six three point baskets, five assists, and five steals.  Russhard Cruickshank recorded 15 points on five three point baskets, six assists, and six steals.  Tre King added 14 points and eight rebounds.  6-9 Sr. Lachlan Anderson added 13 points and five rebounds.  6-10 Fr. Tarik Balogun also recorded 13 points and five rebounds.  6-7 Fr. Michael Moreno added 10 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, and four steals.  5-10 Jr. Cameron Carmical chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets, three assists, and four steals.

 

Hayden Mink led Ohio-Chillicothe with 12 points including two three point baskets and three assists.  Erique Thurman added eight points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  6-4 Fr. Rex Hartman recorded eight points including two three point baskets.  Gabe Odell added five points, six rebounds, and three assists.

Eastern Kentucky University utilized a rock solid defense to defeat Tennessee Tech University by a score of 22-10.  The Colonels limited Tennessee Tech to 150 yards of total offense and two yards net rushing on 25 carries.  QB Barry Fisher was limited to 148 yards passing and was sacked seven times led by Taquan Evans who was consistently in the Tennessee Tech backfield and sacked the QB three times for losses totaling 14 yards.  EKU got rushing touchdowns from Daryl McCleskey and Alonzo Booth and Sam Hayworth added field goals of 22, 36, and 29 yards.  Eastern Kentucky University recorded 24 first downs and 442 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized twice for 29 yards, lost a fumble, and had one pass intercepted.  Tennessee Tech University recorded 11 first downs and 150 yards of total offense.  They were penalized five times for 40 yards.

Daryl McCleskey led Eastern Kentucky’s ground game with 106 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries.  Parker McKinney carried the ball 10 times for 68 yards.  Alonzo Booth added 52 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.  Parker McKinney completed 13 of 26 passes for 188 yards.  Conor Blount completed three of five passes for 20 yards.  Matt Wilcox Jr. caught five passes for 58 yards.  BK Smith added three receptions for 33 yards.  Keyion Dixon recorded two catches for 59 yards.  Jaelin Carter caught one pass for 37 yards.  Corey Glass led the defense with four solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a four yard loss.  Kabbash Richards added three solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a four yard loss.  Ben Bascom and Daulson Fitzpaatrick each recorded four solo tackles with three of Fitzpatrick’s tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards.  Taquan Evans recorded three solo tackles with his tackles resulting in losses totaling 14 yards.  Aaron Patrick added two solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 13 yard loss.

Andrew Goldsmith led Tennessee Tech’s ground game with six yards on two carries.  Adam Browner carried the ball twice for four yards.  Barry Fisher completed 20 of 35 passes for 148 yards.  Darius Stafford caught nine passes for 35 yards.  Seth Huner added three receptions for 20 yards.  David Gist caught two passes for 55 yards.  Metrius Fleming returned two kickoffs for 41 yards with a long return of 23 yards.  Haidar Zaidan kicked off three times for a 62.7 average and two touchbacks and kicked a 52 yard field goal.  Seth Carlisle led the defense with four solo and nine assisted tackles.  Aderick Moore added two solo and nine assisted tackles.  Chris Tucker recorded two solo and five assisted tackles with 3.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards and recovered a fumble he returned 12 yards.  Shannon Fayne also recorded two solo and five assisted tackles.  Cameron Hudson chipped in with six solo tackles.  Adam Swayze added four solo tackles and intercepted a pass.

Simon Kenton defeated Dixie Heights by a score of 41-17.  The Pioneers led 24-14 at halftime and pulled away in the second half for the victory.  Simon Kenton recorded 27 first downs and 492 yards of total offense.  The Pioneers were penalized seven times for 75 yards, lost two fumbles, and had one pass intercepted.  Dixie Heights recorded 17 first downs and 294 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized eight times for 55 yards and had three passes intercepted.

Austin Hammack led Simon Kenton’s ground game with 251 yards and three touchdowns on 32 carries.  Chase Crone carried the ball 14 times for 93 yards and a touchdown.  Marcus Courtney recorded 45 yards and a touchdown on five carries.  Chase Crone completed eight of 16 passes for 72 yards with one interception.  Evan Mulberry caught four passes for 46 yards.  Caleb Livers added two receptions for 15 yards.  Caleb Livers returned two punts for 40 yards.  Vuk Sajlovic led the defense with six solo and six assisted tackles.  Zach Koenes added seven solo and three assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.  Isaac Bleier recorded four solo and six assisted tackles, intercepted a pass, and recovered a fumble.  Tyler Musick also intercepted a pass.

DeSales went to their passing game and threw for four touchdowns in a 30-7 victory over Christian Academy of Louisville.  DeSales scored two touchdowns in the last two minutes of the first half to take a 20-7 halftime lead.  Turnovers (4) and penalties (12-125 yards) proved to be costly for CAL tonight   DeSales recorded 17 first downs and 308 yards of total offense.  The Colts were penalized four times for 53 yards and had two passes intercepted.  Christian Academy of Louisville recorded 12 first downs and 260 yards of total offense.  The Centurions were penalized 12 times for 125 yards, lost three fumbles, and had one pass intercepted.

Antione Johnson led DeSales’ ground game with 64 yards on one carry.  Darren Hollenkamp carried the ball nine times for 51 yards.  James Johnson recorded 24 yards on seven carries.  Jayden Scroggin completed nine of 19 passes for 173 yards and four touchdowns with one interception.  Demetri Scott caught three passes for 63 yards and three touchdowns.   James Johnson added three receptions for 47 yards and a touchdown.  Antione Johnson caught two passes for 62 yards.  Lance Weiter returned two kickoffs for 50 yards.  Demetri Scott recovered two fumbles and Demarcus Avery also recovered a fumble.  Jayden Scroggin intercepted a pass he returned for 60 yards.

Anthony Sabatino led CAL’s ground game with 24 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.  Brandt Babin carried the ball nine times for 19 yards.  Anthony Sabatino completed 13 of 25 passes for 199 yards with one interception.  Luke Leeper caught four passes for 68 yards.  Gage Green added three receptions for 21 yards.  Kevin King caught two passes for 56 yards.  Gage Green returned five kickoffs for 87 yards with a long return of 30 yards.  Gage Green intercepted two passes.

Both teams entered this game with several starters out with injuries but DeSales led by five touchdowns by James Johnson dominated play in a 49-7 victory over the Wolverines.  DeSales recorded 11 first downs and 293 yards of total offense.  The Colts were penalized four times for 35 yards.  Western Hills recorded seven first downs and 43 yards of total offense.  The Wolverines were penalized three times for 89 yards and had three passes intercepted.

James Johnson led DeSales’ ground game with 92 yards and four touchdowns on four carries.  Demarcus Avery carried the ball twice for 25 yards and a touchdown.  David Griffith recorded 25 yards on three carries.  Luke Pfaadt completed two of four passes for 64 yards.  Demarcus Avery completed two of two passes for 89 yards and one touchdown.  Brett Walters caught two passes for 64 yards.  Mekhi Lewis added one reception for 47 yards.  James Johnson recorded one reception for 42 yards and a touchdown.  Antione Johnson returned one punt for 32 yards.  Demetri Scott led the defense with four solo and one assisted tackles with 3.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 21 yards and recorded a safety.  Mekhi Lewis intercepted a pass at the Western Hills 22 and ran to the five yard line and then lateraled the ball to Demetri Scott who scored the touchdown.  Ebenezer Griffith added three solo tackles.  Kaleb Adkins and Lance Weiter also intercepted one pass each with return yardage of 26 and 17 yards respectively.

Jason Rogers led Western Hills’ ground game with 32 yards and a touchdown on five carries.  Gilead Galloway carried the ball six times for 22 yards.  Dylan Engler completed four of 14 passes for 37 yards with three interceptions.  Jason Rogers caught two passes for seven yards.  DJ Outlaw added one reception for 21 yards and Gilead Galloway added one reception for nine yards.  Jason Rogers returned one punt for 36 yards and one kickoff for 16 yards.  Jeffrey Parker returned two kickoffs for 35 yards with a long return of 21 yards.  Jeffrey Parker led the defense with five solo and four assisted tackles.  Clay Woodson added six solo tackles with one of his losses resulting in an 11 yard loss.

Mayfield defeated Murray by a score of 56-24.  Mayfield recorded 19 first downs and 372 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized five times for 55 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.  Murray recorded 15 first downs and 214 yards of total offense.  The Tigers were penalized three times for 30 yards, lost two fumbles, and had two passes intercepted.

Kylan Galbreath led Mayfield’s ground game with 47 yards on eight carries.  Travon Halliburton carried the ball three times for 13 yards.  Markeechio Jackson scored on a one yard touchdown run.  Jayden Stinson completed 16 of 24 passes for 314 yards and six touchdowns with one interception.  Alonzo Daniel caught five passes for 118 yards and three touchdowns.  Diaz Perry added three receptions for 81 yards and two touchdowns.  Tate Puckett caught three passes for 64 yards.  Kade Neely added two catches for 41 yards and a touchdown.  Kade Neely returned one punt for 42 yards.  Alonzo Daniel returned two kickoffs for 45 yards.  Derek Stewart led the defense with five solo tackles.  Kade Neely intercepted a pass he returned 90 yards for a touchdown.  Derrick Smith also intercepted a pass.

Charvelle McCallister led Murray’s ground game with 86 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.  Rowdy Sokolowski added 47 yards on eight carries.  Sebastian Lawrence carried the ball 13 times for 41 yards and a touchdown.  Rowdy Sokolowski completed eight of 22 passes for 27 yards with two interceptions.  Jorden Duffy caught three passes for 17 yards.  Brendan Dahncke returned eight kickoffs for 171 yards.  Damon Boyd led the defense with three solo and one assisted tackles.  Tommy Waldrop intercepted a pass and Alex Shultz scored on a fumble recovery return.

Somerset avenged an earlier loss by defeating Lexington Christian Academy 28-26 in another classic between these two powerhouses.  Somerset took a 28-20 lead with 3:43 left in the game on a 24 yard touchdown pass from Kaiya Sheron to Kade Grundy but the conversion failed.  LCA stormed back to pull within 2; 28-26 on a Jayden Barnhardt one yard touchdown run with 1:31 left but Somerset stopped the two point conversion run by Xavier Brown.  LCA held Somerset on downs  but a last gasp effort by LCA failed when a Jayden Barnhardt pass was intercepted by Tate Madden.  The game was punctuated by great touchdown receptions by Somerset’s Kade Grundy and LCA’s Dearious Smith.  Somerset recorded 18 first downs and 363 yards of total offense.  The Briar Jumpers were penalized six times for 50 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  LCA recorded 19 first downs and 284 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized twice for 15 yards, lost three fumbles, and had one pass intercepted.

Kaiya Sheron led Somerset’s ground game with 80 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries.  Kade Grundy carried the ball twice for 53 yards.  Kaiya Sheron completed 13 of 17 passes for 159 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Kade Grundy caught four passes for 69 yards and a touchdown.  Jase Bruner added two receptions for 37 yards.  Jayden Gilmore recorded three receptions for 31 yards.  Cam Austin returned a kickoff for 18 yards.  Jase Bruner led the defense with seven solo and seven assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in lost yardage.  Cale Todd added four solo and two assisted tackles.  Chaz Gilmore recorded two solo and five assisted tackles.  Jerrod Smith added four solo tackles.  Tate Madden chipped in with two solo and two assisted tackles and intercepted a pass. 

Xavier Smith led LCA’s ground game with 41 yards on 15 carries.  Jayden Barnhardt carried the ball 11 times for 38 yards and two touchdowns.  Dearious Smith carried the ball four times for 31 yards.  Jayden Barnhardt completed 13 of 21 passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  Dearious Smith caught five passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns.  Xavier Brown added three receptions for 24 yards.  Will Vernon caught two passes for 21 yards.  Dearious Smith returned three kickoffs for 92 yards.  Jeffrey Selby led the defense with seven solo and four assisted tackles.  Mattie Lebryk added four solo and 10 assisted tackles.  Neal Dickey recorded five solo and three assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in lost yardage.  Mason Moore intercepted a pass.

Covington Catholic continues to roll with a 38-8 victory over Conner.  Covington Catholic recorded 16 first downs and 391 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized seven times for 91 yards and lost a fumble.  Conner recorded nine first downs and 160 yards of total offense.  They were penalized once for four yards and had two passes intercepted.

Michael Boydston led Covington Catholic’s ground game with 65 yards and a touchdown on four carries.  Daniel Felix carried the ball six times for 44 yards and a touchdown.  Reid Hummel added 29 yards on two carries.  Owen Nally chipped in with 28 yards on three carries.  Caleb Jacob completed 15 of 19 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns.  Ethan Reardon caught four passes for 42 yards and a touchdown.  Michael Mayer added three receptions for 60 yards and two touchdowns.  Andy Molique caught three passes for 48 yards.  Luke Zimmerman returned four punts for 50 yards with a long return of 47 yards.  Michael Boydston returned one kickoff for 25 yards.  Jack Raisbeck led the defense with five solo tackles.  Michael Mayer added four solo tackles and intercepted a pass.  Ryan Schneider recorded two solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.  Trevor Wilson chipped in with two solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards.

Jared Hicks led Dixie Heights’ ground game with nine yards on seven carries.  Jared Hicks completed 17 of 26 passes for 153 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions.  Justin Daniels caught seven passes for 72 yards and a touchdown.  Colton Roy added four receptions for 31 yards.  Drew Cobble caught three passes for 35 yards.  Colton Roy returned five kickoffs for 74 yards with a long return of 22 yards.  Jared Hicks led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles.  Parker Hitzfiel added seven solo tackles.  Drew Cobble and Drew Siegmundt each recorded four solo tackles.  Chase Kurtz chipped in with two solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in an eight yard loss.

Frederick Douglass improves their record to 12-0 by defeating Scott County for the second time this year by the score of 24-14.  Frederick Douglass recorded 10 first downs and 282 yards of total offense.  The Broncos were penalized six times for 51 yards and lost two fumbles.  Scott County recorded 13 first downs and 235 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized seven times for 54 yards and lost three fumbles.

Josh McClurg led Douglass’ ground game with 102 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.  Devin Neal carried the ball eight times for 55 yards and a touchdown.  Josh McClurg completed five of six passes for 84 yards and a touchdown.  Dane Key caught three passes for 37 yards.  Devin Neal added two receptions for 47 yards and a touchdown.  Devin Neal returned one punt for 14 yards.  Devin Neal led the defense with eight solo and six assisted tackles.  R. Thompson added five solo and seven assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Ty Bryant recorded three solo and four assisted tackles.  Jager Burton added two solo and three assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards.

Bronson Brown led Scott County’s ground game with 79 yards on 13 carries.  Phillip Garner carried the ball 20 times for 79 yards.  Cade McKee ran for two touchdowns.  Cade McKee completed five of nine passes for 52 yards.  Micah McClave caught three passes for 40 yards.  Makaleb Coffey returned one kickoff for 42 yards.  Cade Tackett led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a seven yard loss.  Rylan Reed and Sam Daniel each recorded three solo and five assisted tackles.  Austin Taylor added two solo and four assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards and recovered a fumble.  Bronson Brown also recovered a fumble.
