Ashland Blazer coach Jason Mays started the following lineup: 6-2 Jr. Cole Villers, 6-2 Fr. Zander Carter, 6-8 Sr. Sean Marcum, 5-11 So. Colin Porter, and 6-1 Jr. Ethan Sellars..  Knox Central coach Tony Patterson countered with 6-3 Sr. Jevonte Turner, 6-3 Jr. Isaac Mills, 6-5 Fr. Gavin Chadwell, 5-8 Jr. Abram Brock, and 6-0 Sr. Andrew Sizemore.

 

Ashland Blazer raced out to a 30-10 halftime lead on their way to a 56-38 victory over Knox Central.  Ashland’s defense stepped up tonight sparked by 5-10 Sr. Hunter Gillum who also added nine points.  Ashland Blazer shot 44.4% from the field including four of 13 from the three point line.  The Tomcats connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 Knox Central turnovers.  Knox Central shot 36.8% from the field including three of seven from beyond the arc.  The Panthers connected on seven of nine free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored four points off nine Ashland turnovers.

 

Colin Porter led Ashland Blazer with 17 points including 11 of 13 free throws, four rebounds, eight assists, and two steals.  Cole Villers added 14 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Hunter Gillum recorded nine points and 6-2 Jr. Ryan Atkins chipped in with seven points and two rebounds.

 

Jevonte Turner led Knox Central with 20 points including two three point baskets, four of five free throws, six rebounds, and three assists.  Isaac Mills added seven points and four rebounds.  Gavin Chadwell recorded four points and seven rebounds.
