Russell coach Mandy Layne started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr.Kaeli Ross, 5-6 So. Jenna Adkins, 6-0 Sr. Aubrey Hill, 5-0 Fr. Bella Quinn, and 5-5 Fr. Shaelyn Steele.  Henderson County coach Jeff Haile countered with 5-10 So. Jarie Thomas, 5-6 Sr. Lauren Hubbard, 5-10 Sr. M Kyra Dixon, 5-4 Sr. Sadie Wurth, and 5-5 Jr. Kaytlan Kemp.

 

Henderson County raced out to a 22-7 first quarter lead on their way to a 64-53 victory over Russell.  Henderson County shot 48.6% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Colonels connected on 26 of 35 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and committed 13 turnovers.  Russell shot 39.9% from the field including three of seven from beyond the arc.  The Red Devils connected on 16 of 24 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and committed 13 turnovers.

 

Sadie Wurth led Henderson County with 27 points including 18 of 21 free throws, three rebounds, six assists, and two steals.  5-2 So. Savannah Lacer added 10 points including five of six free throws and two rebounds.  Jarie Thomas recorded 10 points and seven rebounds.  M Kyra Dixon pulled down 11 rebounds.

 

Kaeli Ross led Russell with 22 points including three three point baskets, and six rebounds.  Aubrey Hill added 18 points including six of seven free throws, eight rebounds, three blocked shots, and two steals.  Shaelyn Steele recorded eight points and four steals.

Marshall County trailed 28-26 at halftime but rallied in the second half to defeat Bethlehem by the score of 58-51.  Marshall County shot 39.5% from the field including six of 16 from the three point line.  The Lady Marshals connected on 18 of 22 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and committed 28 turnovers.  Bethlehem shot 32.7% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Banshees connected on 11 of 13 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and committed 10 turnovers.

 

Cayson Conner led Marshall County with 24 points including seven of eight free throws, four rebounds, and two steals.  Halle Langhi added 15 points including eight of 10 free throws, and 12 rebounds.

The score was tied 46-46 after three quarters but Bethlehem pulled away for a 70-65 victory over Bullitt East in a battle between two of the top ranked teams in the state.  Bethlehem shot 37.1% from the field including eight of 19 from the three point line.  The Banshees connected on 16 of 17 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and committed nine turnovers.  Bullitt East shot 41.3% from the field including four of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Chargers connected on nine of 11 free throws,pulled down 40 rebounds, and committed 11 turnovers.

 

Ella Freeman led Bethlehem with 25 points including two three point baskets, five of six free throws, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals.  Carlie Thurmond added 18 points including two three point baskets, eight of eight free throws, two rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Emma Filiatreau recorded 11 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.  Amelia Hodges chipped in with nine points and five assists.  6-2 So. 28 turnovers and foul problems to Rachel Presley (fouled out with only 16 minutes played in the game) proved to be too much to overcome as South Laurel lost to Franklin County 55-50 in overtime.  Franklin County shot 32.7% from the field including two of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Flyers connected on 17 of 35 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and committed 13 turnovers.  South Laurel shot 45.2% from the field including six of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on six of 14 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and committed 28 turnovers.

 

Brooklynn Miles led Franklin County with 17 points including two three point baskets, five of seven free throws, two rebounds, five assists, and eight steals.  Patience Laster added 14 points and 14 rebounds.  Shauvi Kennedy recorded nine points, two rebounds, and two steals.

 

Reagan Jones led South Laurel with 14 points including two three point baskets, 10 rebounds, and two assists.  Brianna Howard added nine points on three three point baskets, four rebounds, and two assists.  Kylie Clem recorded eight points, three rebounds, and three assists.  6-0 So. Clara Collins chipped in with eight points and three blocked shots.  Emily Cox recorded seven points, 12 rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots.
