AZ Compass Prep coach Ed Gibson started the following lineup: 6-6 Sr. Alden Applewhite, 6-6 Sr. Glenn Taylor Jr., 7-0 Jr. Adrame Dionque, 6-1 Sr. Javon Small, and 6-3 Sr. TyTy Washington.  Montverde Academy coach Kevin Boyle countered with 6-8 Sr. Caleb Houstan, 6-6 Jr. Dariq Whitehead, 6-10 Jr. Jalen Duren, 6-0 Sr. Ryan Nembhard, and 6-4 Sr. Langston Love.

 

Montverde Academy’s Caleb Houstan’s tip in gave his team a 51-49 victory over the upset minded AZ Compass Prep.  AZ Compass Prep trailed 42-33 after three quarters but staged a furious rally in the final quarter that fell one basket short.  Montverde Academy shot 41.8% from the field including two of 10 from the three point line.  They connected on three of three free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 10 AZ Compass Prep turnovers.  AZ Compass Prep shot 45.5% from the field including five of 19 from beyond the arc.  They connected on four of seven free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 11 Montverde Academy turnovers.

 

Jalen Duren led Montverde Academy with 14 points, nine rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Dariq Whitehead added 13 points and 6-8 Jr. Malik Reneau recorded 10 points on five of five from the field.  Caleb Houstan chipped in with five points and seven rebounds.

 

TyTy Washington led AZ Compass Prep with 15 points, four rebounds, five assists, and two blocked shots.  Alden Applewhite added 11 points on three three point baskets including three three point baskets and three rebounds.  6-6 Jr. AJ Storr recorded seven points.  Ryan Nembhard added five points, nine assists, and two steals.

IMG Academy outscored Sunrise Christian Academy 26-17 in the third quarter o take a 52-49 lead after three quarters but Sunrise Christian rallied for a 70-63 victory.  Sunrise Christian Academy shot 53.8% from the field including seven of 19 from the three point line.  They connected on 21 of 27 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored six points off five IMG Academy turnovers.  IMG Academy shot 46.2% from the field including six of 15 from beyond the arc.  They connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored eight points off 10 Sunrise Christian Academy turnovers.

 

Kennedy Chandler led Sunrise Christian Academy with 25 points including two three point baskets, 11 of 14 free throws, five rebounds, and five assists.  6-3 Sr. Jaden Akins added 14 points including three three point baskets and four rebounds.  Kendall Brown recorded 10 points and five assists.  Gradey Dick chipped in with eight points, 10 rebounds, and two steals.

 

Jaden Bradley led IMG Academy with 18 points including six of eight free throws, two rebounds, six assists, and three steals.  Jett Howard added 12 points on four three point baskets.  Tamar Bates recorded 11 points and Mousa Diabate chipped in with eight points, two rebounds, and two steals.

Taniya Latson led Westlake with 26 points including seven of 10 free throws, five rebounds, four assists, and four steals.  Raven Johnson added 25 points including four three point baskets, 10 rebounds, nine assists, and seven steals.  Brianna Turnage recorded five points, 10 rebounds, two assists, three blocked shots, and two steals.

IMG Academy led by 17 points in the third quarter and withstood a late Milton rally to earn a 73-68 victory.  IMG Academy shot 50.9% from the field including four of 18 from the three point line.  They connected on 11 of 16 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 10 Milton turnovers.  Milton shot 37.1% from the field including eight of 29 from beyond the arc.  They connected on 14 of 16 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds,, and scored 10 points off nine IMG Academy turnovers.

 

Jaden Bradley led IMG Academy with 20 points including four of five free throws, four rebounds, and six assists.  6-6 Jr. Jarace Walker added 16 points, seven rebounds, two assists, three blocked shots, and four steals.  Mousa Diabete recorded 13 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocked shots. 

 

Kanaan Carlyle led Milton with 22 points including three three point baskets, five of five free throws, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Oak Hill Academy defeated Pace Academy 84-77 in a game in which bout teams shot over 54% from the field.  Oak Hill Academy shot 57.1% from the field including nine of 25 from the three point line.  They connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 12 Pace Academy turnovers.  Pace Academy shot 54.7% from the field including seven of 15 from beyond the arc.  They connected on 12 of 20 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Oak Hill Academy turnovers.

 

Caleb Foster led Oak Hill Academy with 23 points including five three point baskets, three rebounds, and seven assists.  AJ Williams added 19 points including three three point baskets and seven assists.  MJ Rice recorded 18 points including five of six free throws, and four rebounds.  Camryn Carter chipped in with 16 points including four of four free throws, 10 rebounds, eight assists, and three steals. 

 

Matthew Cleveland led Pace Academy with 30 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Josh Reed added 21 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, and four assists.  Cole Middleton recorded 16 points, eight rebounds, and four steals.
