Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Scott Chalk started the following lineup: 6-5 Jr. Tim Hall Jr., 6-4 Jr. Zach Carter, 6-8 Jr. Lionel Kuwimba, 6-1 Jr. Max VanDyke, and 6-0 So. Nick Spalding.  Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-4 So. Hudson Sparks, 6-3 Jr. Jack Gohmann, 6-10 So. Reece Potter, 6-1 Sr. Ryan Russell, and 6-2 Sr. Ben Johnson.

 

Paul Laurence Dunbar trailed 41-36 at halftime but outscored the Knights 23-12 in the third quarter on their way to an 81-68 victory over Lexington Catholic.  There were 11 lead changes and four ties in this game.  Dunbar shot 50% from the field including 10 of 20 from the three point line.  The Bulldogs connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 10 points off seven Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 38.7% from the field including six of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Knights connected on 14 of 22 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 11 points off eight Dunbar turnovers.

 

Tim Hall Jr. led Dunbar with 25 points including eight of eight free throws, 15 rebounds, three blocked shots, and two steals.  Nick Spalding added 25 points including five three point baskets, and eight rebounds.  Max VanDyke recorded 21 points including three three point baskets, two rebounds, and three assists.  Lionel Kumwimba pulled down nine rebounds.

 

Ben Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 21 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.  Ryan Russell added 11 points including three three point baskets.  Jack Gohmann recorded 11 points including two three point baskets.  Reece Potter chipped in with eight points and eight rebounds. 6-8 So. John McCrear added five points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots.
