Covington Holy Cross coach Brandon Grammer started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Blake Robinson, 6-0 Jr. Dylan Arlinghaus, 6-3 Sr. Jeremiah Hicks, 5-10 Sr. Brandon McClendon, and 6-0 So. Jacob Meyer.  Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz countered with 6-6 So. Chandler Starks, 6-5 Jr. Colin McHale, 6-7 Jr. Mitchell Rylee, 5-9 So. Evan Ipsaro, and 6-4 Sr. Donovan Stocks.

 

Covington Catholic led 55-51 after three quarters but pulled away in the final quarter to earn an 84-62 victory over Covington Holy Cross.  Covington Catholic shot 58% from the field including eight of 19 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 18 of 26 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and committed five turnovers.  Holy Cross shot 42.3% from the field including eight of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and committed 12 turnovers.

 

Evan Ipsaro led Covington Catholic with 29 points including three three point baskets, six of six free throws, three rebounds, and three assists.  Mitchell Rylee added 18 points including six of 11 free throws, nine rebounds, two assists, and four blocked shots.  Donovan Stocks recorded 15 points including three three point baskets, eight rebounds, and five assists.  Chandler Starks chipped in with 10 points including six of eight free throws, 11 rebounds, and four assists.

 

Jacob Meyer led Covington Holy Cross with 23 points including three three point baskets, six of seven free throws and three rebounds.  Blake Robinson added 14 points including four three point baskets and six rebounds.  Brandon McClendon recorded 14 points including four of six free throws and three assists.  Jeremiah Hicks chipped in with seven points and five rebounds.

Lexington Catholic raced out to a 28-12 first quarter lead over Lexington Christian Academy on their way to an 80-58 victory.  Lexington Catholic shot 60% from the field including 13 of 19 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 11 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 43.4% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 14 points off eight Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Ben Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 26 points including four three point baskets, three rebounds, six assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.  Jack Gohmann added 21 points including five three point baskets.  Hudson Sparks recorded 12 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, and two steals. 

 

Tanner Walton led LCA with 19 points, five rebounds, two assists, and four steals.  Tyler Hall added 15 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.  Brayden Mirus recorded 11 points including three three point baskets and five rebounds.

Tates Creek trailed 39-34 after three quarters but outscored Paul Laurence Dunbar 16-4 in the final quarter to earn a 50-43 upset victory over Dunbar.  There were three lead changes and three ties in this game.  Tates Creek shot 34.7% from the field including three of 15 from the three point line.  The Lady Commodores connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 20 Dunbar turnovers.  Dunbar shot 35.1% from the field including five of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 12 of 22 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored five points off 13 Tates Creek turnovers.

 

5-6 Fr. Ashton Harris led Tates Creek with 17 points including five of eight free throws, five rebounds, and two steals.  Caty Amishaw added 10 points, eight rebounds, and two steals.  Maddie Kauffman recorded nine points and five rebounds.  Joyce Mukalamusi chipped in with seven points, three rebounds, and three steals.  Alisce Lyvers recorded two points, four rebounds, eight assists, and three steals.

DaShawn Jackson led Frederick Douglass with 22 points including four three point baskets, four of four free throws, 11 rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Kai Simpson added 17 points, four rebounds, six assists, and six steals.  Tyson Barrett recorded 10 points, five rebounds, and five blocked shots.  5-8 Sr. Khamri McMullen chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets.

 

Zander Collett led Sayre with 22 points including five of seven free throws and four rebounds.  Dant Bowling added eight points including two three point baskets.  Cole Pennington recorded two points, nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
