Shelby County vs. Franklin County (Girls)

Shelby County coach Daniel Price started the following lineup: 5-11 8th Grade Zakiyah Johnson, 5-9 Sr. Tarryn Stone, 5-8 Sr. Jalynn Marshall, 5-4 So. Jaci Woods, and 5-6 Jr. Brooklynn Patton.  Franklin County coach Joey Thacker countered with 5-10 Jr. Patience Laster, 5-5 Sr. Alijah Starks, 6-4 So. Jhaven Meade, 5-2 Jr. Nevaeh Carter, and 5-6 Sr. Brooklynn Miles.

 

Franklin County defeated Shelby County by the score of 60-55.  Franklin County shot 38.2% from the field including three of 15 from the three point line.  The Lady Flyers connected on 15 of 20 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and committed 13 turnovers.  Shelby County shot 43.1% from the field including two of eight from beyond the arc.  The Lady Rockets connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and committed 21 turnovers.

 

Brooklynn Miles led Franklin County with 18 points including 11 of 12 free throws, four rebounds, six assists, and five steals.  Jhaven Meade added 12 points and seven rebounds.  Patience Laster recorded eight points and six rebounds.  Nevaeh Carter chipped in with eight points, three rebounds, and five assists.  6-0 8th Grade Juliana Frazee added eight points and three rebounds.

 

Zakiyah Johnson led Shelby County with 21 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, three steals, and two blocked shots.  Jaci Woods added 12 points and six rebounds.  Jalynn Marshall recorded eight points, three rebounds, and three steals.  5-10 Jr. Madison Sallee chipped in with six points and four rebounds.
