Evangel Christian vs. Clinton County (Semifinal)

 

Evangel Christian coach Myles Harvey started the following linrup: 6-4 Jr. Gage Mabry, 6-3 So. Dawson Black, 6-10 So. Cy Malonga, 5-10 Sr. Keion Scrivener, and 5-9 Jr. Rayvon Marzette.  Clinton County coach Todd Messer countered with 6-3 Sr. Chase Stines, 5-11 Jr. Blake Melton, 6-5 Jr. Nick Delk, 6-0 Jr. Bryson Cross, and 6-1 Sr. Nick Brown.

 

Clinton County held on to defeat Evangel Christian by the score of 44-42. It was not an easy victory as Blake Melton left the game in the third quarter with an ankle injury and Nick Delk left the game in the final quarter with a cut to the head that later required stitches.  Evangel Christian brought size and athleticism to the game but Clinton County managed to hold a 33-23 rebound advantage and held a 20-9 advantage in second chance points.  There were five ties and seven lead changes in the game.

 

Clinton County shot 38.6% from the field including four of 12 from the three point line.  The Bulldogs connected on six of nine free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 11 Evangel Christian turnovers.  Evangel Christian shot 36.4% from the field including seven of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on three of five free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 14 Clinton County turnovers. 

 

Blake Melton led Clinton County with 11 points including three three point baskets and three rebounds.  Nick Brown added 11 points, nine rebounds, and three assists.  Nick Delk recorded 10 points and eight rebounds.  Chase Stines chipped in with four points, four rebounds, two assists, and three steals.  Bryson Cross added six points, three rebounds, and four assists.

 

Dawson Black led Evangel Christian with 16 points including four three point baskets.  6-2 Fr. Carmelo Mercer added eight points including two three point baskets.  Cyr Malonga recorded six points, 10 rebounds, and eight blocked shots.

Lexington Christian Academy vs. St. Henry (Semifinal)

 

Lexington Christian Academy coach Ted Hall started the following lineup: 6-2 Jr. Tanner Walton, 6-1 Jr. Jeffrey Selby, 6-3 So. Tyler Hall, 5-9 So. Elijah Green, and 6-0 Fr. Brayden Mirus.  St. Henry coach David Faust countered with 6-3 Sr. Wyatt Vieth, 6-2 Sr. Jude Bessler, 6-4 Sr. Cody Teeten, 5-8 Sr. Cory Shea, and 5-10 Sr. Ryan Butler.

 

St. Henry raced out to a 23-5 first quarter on their way to a 72-49 victory over Lexington Christian Academy.  St. Henry shot 45.1% from the field including five of 18 from the three point line.  The Crusaders connected on 21 of 25 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 14 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 37.5% from the field including five of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored six points off seven St. Henry turnovers.

 

Wyatt Vieth led st. Henry with 21 points including nine of nine free throws, eight rebounds, and four steals.  Jude Bessler added 17 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals.  Ryan Butler recorded 10 points and six rebounds.

 

Tanner Walton led Lexington Christian with 20 points including six of seven free throws, six rebounds, and four assists.  Tyler Hall added 13 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Brayden Mirus recorded eight points and three rebounds.

St. Henry vs. Clinton County (Championship)

 

St. Henry coach David Faust started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Wyatt Vieth, 6-2 Sr. Jude Bessler, 6-4 Sr. Cody Teeten, 5-8 Sr. Cory Shea, and 5-10 Sr. Ryan Butler.  Clinton County coach Todd Messer countered with 6-3 Sr. Chase Stines, 5-11 Jr. Blake Melton, 6-5 Jr. Nick Delk, 6-0 Jr. Bryson Cross, and 6-1 Sr. Nick Brown.

 

St. Henry pulled away in the second half to defeat Clinton County 74-57 to repeat as champion.  The score was tied three times and there were seven lead changes in the game.  St. Henry shot 60.4% from the field including six of 12 from the three point line.  The Crusaders connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 15 Clinton County turnovers.  Clinton County shot 50% from the field including six of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Bulldogs connected on three of six free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 12 St. Henry turnovers.

 

Wyatt Vieth led St. Henry with 27 points, three rebounds, and five steals.  Jude Bessler added 13 points, seven rebounds, and two assists.  Cody Teeten recorded 11 points including five of five free throws, seven rebounds, five assists, and two blocked shots.  Ryan Butler chipped in with seven points, three rebounds, and two assists.

 

Nick Delk led Clinton County with 19 points, five rebounds, and three steals.  Blake Melton added 17 points including four three point baskets and five assists.  Nick Brown recorded 10 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  Bryson Cross chipped in with six points, two rebounds, and eight assists.  Chase Stines added five points and four rebounds.
