Clay County coach Glenn Gray started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Raven Abner, 6-3 Sr. Connor Robinson, 6-4 Sr. Tate Farmer, 5-11 Sr. Connor Farmer, and 6-1 Sr. Landon Hensley. Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz countered with 6-5 Jr. Colin McHale, 6-4 Sr. Donovan Stocks, 6-7 Jr. Mitchell Rylee, 5-9 So. Evan Ipsaro, and 6-3 Jr. Walker Horn.
Covington Catholic defeated Clay County by the score of 52-41. Covington Catholic shot 37.7% from the field including nine of 27 from the three point line. The Colonels connected on three of four free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and committed 11 turnovers. Clay County shot 34% from the field including seven of 20 from beyond the arc. The Tigers connected on two of two free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and committed 10 turnovers.
Colin McHale led Covington Catholic with 12 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, two blocked shots, and two steals. 6-1 So. Kascyl McGillis added 12 points on four three point baskets and two assists. Mitchell Rylee added four points and 12 rebounds. 6-6 So. Chandler Starks chipped in with four points and 11 rebounds. Evan Ipsaro recorded four points, four rebounds, and four assists.
Connor Farmer led Clay County with 25 points including five three point baskets and four rebounds. Connor Robinson added 11 points and four rebounds.
