Lexington Catholic coach Donald L. Tegt started the following lineup: 5-8 So. Olivia Bretz, 5-8 Sr. Farah Weldon, 5-10 Sr. Emma Frank, 5-6 Jr. Hannah Carlisle, and 5-7 So. Katherine Truitt. Madison Central coach Brad Lovely countered with 5-10 Sr. Raelynn Miller, 5-7 So. Chloe Freeman, 5-10 Sr. Gretchen Hammitt, 5-4 So. Eve Carter, and 5-5 Sr. Brianna Bierbaum.
Madison Central trailed 30-26 at halftime but a dismal 0-10 from the field in the third quarter resulted in Lexington Catholic outscoring the Indians 16-3 in the quarter on their way to a 56-39 victory. There were two lead changes and six ties in the game. Lexington Catholic shot 32.1% from the field including fourof nine from the three point line. The Lady Knights connected on 18 of 24 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 21 Madison Central turnovers. Madison Central shot 28.3% from the field including three of 14 from beyond the arc. The Indians connected on 10 of 19 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 19 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Katherine Truitt led Lexington Catholic with 25 points including two three point baskets, seven of eight free throws, 12 rebounds, and six steals. 5-11 Jr. Chloe Treece added 12 points, five rebounds, and four assists. 5-8 Sr. Ariel West recorded six points and five rebounds.
5-10 Fr. Bailey Hensley led Madison Central with 17 points and four rebounds. Chloe Freeman added seven points including two three point baskets. 5-4 8th Grade Brittany Campbell recorded three points, seven rebounds, and two assists. 5-4 Fr. Eden Carter chipped in with three points, five rebounds, and four assists. Gretchen Hammitt added four points and five rebounds.
