Madison Central vs. Scott County (Girls)

Madison Central coach Brad Lovely started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Raelynn Miller, 5-7 So. Chloe Freeman, 5-11 Sr. Gretchen Hammitt, 5-4 So. Eve Carter, and 5-5 Sr.Bri Bierbaum.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 6-1 Sr. Kaylie Wise, 5-6 Fr. Maleiyah Moore, 6-1 Sr. Kenady Tompkins, 5-4 Jr. Brianna Penney, and 5-5 Jr. Emma Price.

 

Scott County trailed 25-24 at halftime but Scott County rallied in the second half to earn a 58-36 victory.  There were three lead changes and three ties in this game.  Madison Central was two of 30 from the field in the second half (6.7%).  Scott County shot 42.6% from the field including five of 18 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on seven of 13 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 20 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 16.1% from the field including two of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Indians connected on 16 of 25 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 21 Scott County turnovers.

 

Kenady Tompkins led Scott County with 19 points, 11 rebounds, three blocked shots, and four steals.  Emma Price added 16 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Maleiyah Moore recorded seven points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  5-7 So.Tyra Young added seven points, 11 rebounds, and two steals.

 

Eve Carter led Madison Central with 14 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and five steals.  5-8 So. Presley Lochmueller added six points, five rebounds, and two steals.  Chloe Freeman recorded five points and five rebounds.
