Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall II started the following lineup: 6-4Sr. Shawn Perkins, 5-10 Fr. Jayd Huynh, 6-9 Sr. Ray Surratt, 5-10 Jr. Kobe Blake, and 5-10 Jr. Will Stanfield. Scott County coach Tim Glenn countered with 6-4 Jr. Elias Richardson, 6-1 Jr. Mikaleb Coffey, 6-6 Sr. Terrin Hamilton, 5-10 Jr. Chase Grigsby, and 6-0 Sr. Aaron Leake.
Lafayette’s Ray Surratt was fouled on a three point attempt with less than two seconds remaining in the game and hit all three free throws to give Lafayette a 71-70 victory over Scott County. Terrin Hamilton attempted a half court shot at the buzzer which bounced off the rim. There were five lead changes and three ties in this game. Lafayette shot 46.3% from the field including 12 of 23 from the three point line. The Generals connected on nine of 10 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 15 Scott County turnovers. Scott County shot 52.9% from the field including seven of 18 from beyond the arc. The Cardinals connected on nine of 11 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 22 Lafayette turnovers.
Ray Surratt led Lafayette with 23 points and eight rebounds. Will Stanfield added 13 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Jayd Huynh recorded 11 points including three three point baskets and three steals. Kobe Blake chipped in with six points including two three point baskets, six assists, and two steals.
Terrin Hamilton led Scott County with 19 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, two blocked shots, and four steals. Aaron Leake added 14 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and three assists. Elias Richardson recorded 13 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Mikaleb Coffey chipped in with 10 points, four assists, and five steals.
