Great Crossing vs. Woodford County (Girls)

Versailles, KY

January 11, 2020

 

Great Crossing coach Glenn Wilson Jr. started the following lineup: 5-9 8th Grade Ava Schureman, 5-7 So. Timothi Williams, 6-0 Fr. Raegan Barrett, 5-1 Jr. Braylee McMath, and 5-7 So. Rachel Smith.  Woodford County coach Erik Daniels countered with 5-6 So. Mackenzie Karo, 5-5 8th Grade Nia Rhodes, 6-1 Sr. Kayla Harlow, 5-6 Sr. Abbie Hudson, and 5-7 Sr. Abby Moffett. 

 

Great Crossing pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Woodford County by a score of 69-56.  There were four lead changes in this game.  Great Crossing shot 38.5% fro the field including six of 21 from the three point line.  The Warhawks connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 21 Woodford County turnovers.  Woodford County shot 35.7% from the field including seven of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Yellow Jackets connected on nine of 16 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored nine points off 17 Great Crossing turnovers.

 

Braylee McMath led Great Crossing with 26 points including three three point baskets, eight rebounds, and six steals.  Rachel Smith added 13 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and two steals.  Timothi Williams recorded 11 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Raegan Barrett chipped in with six points and four rebounds and Ava Schureman added six point and seven rebounds,

 

Abby Moffett led Woodford County with 20 points including five three point baskets and eight rebounds. 6-0 Sr. Delaney Enlow recorded 13 points, five rebounds, and one blocked shot. Mackenzie Karo added 12 points.  Kayla Harlow chipped in with eight points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots.
