Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Neil Green, 6-5 Fr. Chandler Starks, 7-1 Sr. Noah Hupmann, 6-0 Sr. Grant Disken, and 6-3 Jr. Donovan Stocks. Campbell County coach Aric Russell countered with 6-4 Jr. Jack Sell, 6-3 Sr. Jordan Gross, 6-4 Jr. Dane Hegyl, 5-10 Jr. Garrett Beiting, and 6-2 Fr. Aydan Hamilton.
The score was tied 31-31 at halftime but Covington Catholic outscored Campbell County 21-11 in the third quarter on their way to a 67-56 victory. Covington Catholic shot 55.1% from the field including seven of 18 from the three point line. The Colonels connected on six of seven free throws, pulled down 27rebounds, and committed 13 turnovers. Campbell County shot 42.6% from the field including four of 20 from beyond the arc. The Camels connected on six of nine free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and committed 11 turnovers.
Grant Disken led Covington Catholic with 23 points including four three point baskets, five of five free throws, four rebounds, and three steals. Chandler Starks added 12 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Neil Green recorded 12 points and four rebounds. Noah Hupmann chipped in with seven points, three rebounds, three assists, and five blocked shots.
Dane Hegyl led Campbell County with 21 points and five rebounds. Aydan Hamilton added 15 points including two three point baskets, seven rebounds, and four steals. Jordan Gross recorded nine points, four rebounds, and four assists. Garrett Beiting chipped in with eight points.
