Iroquois coach Glendale Zale II started the following lineup: 5-7Jr. Destiny Thompson, 5-5 Jr. Taran Wilson, 5-9 Sr.Makazia Swan, 5-2 Jr. Aria Moore, and 5-4 So. Kaleasha Thurston.  Great Crossing coach Glen Wilson Jr. countered with 5-9 8th Grade Ava Schureman, 5-7 So. Rachel Smith, 6-0 Fr. Raegan Barrett, 5-1 Jr. Braylee McMath, and 5-7 So. Timothi Williams.

 

Great Crossing raced out to a 26-14 first quarter lead on their way to a 95-64 victory over Iroquois.  So much for a discussion about a shot clock as the Warhawks put up 88 shots from the field in a 32 minute game.  Great Crossing shot 46.6% from the field including six of 25 from the three point line.  The Warhawks connected on seven of 14 free throws, pulled down 52 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 23 Iroquois turnovers.  Iroquois shot 44% from the field including two of seven from beyond the arc.  The Lady Raiders connected on 18 of 31 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 14 Great Crossing turnovers.

 

Braylee McMath led Great Crossing with 22 points, five rebounds, seven assists, and seven steals.  Raegan Barrett added 19 points and seven rebounds.  Timothi Williams recorded 14 points and five steals.  5-8 So. Leila Custard chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.  5-7 8th Grade Olivia Tierney also scored 10 points.  5-10 Fr. Emma Boehm recorded six points and 10 rebounds.

 

Destiny Thompson led Iroquois with 34 points including two three point baskets, 12 of 18 free throws, six rebounds, and three steals.  Makazia Swan added 20 points and five rebounds.
