Model coach John Morgerson started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Cruse Pingleton, 6-2 Sr. Camden Stamm, 6-1 Jr. Nate Freese, 5-9 Jr. Bryson Perry, and 6-2 Jr. Ethan Bailey. Madison Southern coach Austin Newton countered with 6-1 Sr. Chad Fugate, 6-2 Sr. Jonah Wooten, 6-4 So. Nate Turner, 5-6 Sr. Britten Robinson, and 5-8 So.Walt Smith.
Madison Southern outscored Model 22-6 in the second quarter to take a 36-21 halftime lead on their way to a 65-53 victory over Model. Madison Southern shot 38.8% from the field including five of 25 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on eight of 10 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 16 Model turnovers. Model shot 46.7% from the field including five of 15 from beyond the arc. The Patriots connected on six of 16 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 10 points off eight Madison Southern turnovers.
Chad Fugate led Madison Southern with 22 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds. 5-11 Sr. Hunter Buchanan added 12 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds. Jonah Wooten recorded nine points and eight rebounds. Nate Turner chipped in with eight points and five rebounds. 6-0 Sr. Samuel Lee added four points, eight rebounds, and four assists.
Cruse Pingleton led Model with 18 points, four rebounds, and two assists. Bryson Perry added 13 points and four rebounds. Camden Stamm recorded 10 points including two three point baskets. Nate Freese pulled down nine rebounds. 6-2 Jr. Colton Collier added six points, six rebounds, and two assists. Ethan Bailey recorded six points on two three point baskets and five rebounds.
