Franklin County coach Joey Thacker started the following lineup: 5-6 Sr. Jasmine Simpson, 5-4 Sr. Lakin Hamblin, 5-10 So. Patience Laster, 5-2 So. Nevaeh Carter, and 5- 6 Jr.Brooklynn Miles. Mercy Academy coach Keith Baisch countered with 6-0 Sr.Paige Taylor, 5-11 Fr. Amy Thompson, 6-2 Sr. Taziah Jenks, 5-5 Sr. Hope Sivori, and 5-7 Sr. Sidney Shephard.
Mercy Academy pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Franklin County by the score of 68-59. Mercy Academy shot 30% from the field including five of 22 from the three point line. The Jaguars connected on 25 of 32 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and committed 12 turnovers. Franklin County shot 33% from the field including six of 19 from beyond the arc. The Lady Flyers connected on 17 of 29 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and committed 18 turnovers.
Hope Sivori led Mercy Academy with 30 points including two three point baskets, 14 of 15 free throws, three rebounds, five assists, and five steals. Amy Thompson added 13 points and nine rebounds. Taziah Jenks recorded 11 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocked shots.
5-11 So. Jazmin Chambers led Franklin County with 16 points including eight of 16 free throws and two rebounds. Patience Laster added 12 points including four of four free throws and 14 rebounds. Brooklynn Miles recorded 10 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Nevaeh Carter pulled down 11 rebounds and dished out five assists.
