Eastern Kentucky University led 39-32 at halftime but East Carolina rallied in the second half for an 82-74 victory over the Colonels. East Carolina shot 46.7% from the field including eight of21 from the three point line. The Pirates connected on 18 of 29 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 18 Eastern Kentucky turnovers. Eastern Kentucky shot 35.6% from the field including eight of 27 from beyond the arc. The Colonels connected on 14 of 19 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 22 East Carolina turnovers.
Jayden Gardner led East Carolina with 25 points, 14 rebounds, and three assists. Tyrie Jackson added 16 points including four three point baskets and six rebounds. Tremont Robinson-White recorded 13 points, four assists, and five steals. 6-7 Jr. Bitumba Baruti added eight points, 10 rebounds, and three blocked shots.
Jomaru Brown led Eastern Kentucky University with 25 points including 12 of 14 free throws, six rebounds, and two assists. Tre King added 18 points, 12 rebounds, and three steals. Ty Taylor recorded 12 points including two three point baskets. Michael Moreno chipped in with 11 points including three three point baskets and six rebounds.
