Franklin County vs. Henry Clay (Girls)

Franklin County coach Joey Thacker started the following lineup: 5-6 Jr. Jasmine Simpson, 5-5 Sr. Shannon Brunette, 5-10 Fr. Patience Laster, 5-5 Jr. Lakin Hamblin, and 5-6 So. Brooklynn Miles.  Henry Clay coach Eric Sanford countered with 5-9 Fr. Amiya Jenkins, 5-7 Sr. Kiya Thompson, 5-10 Fr. Kennedy Williams. 5-0 Jr. Taviona Sanford, and 5-2 Fr. Maddie Kaufman.

 

Franklin County defeated Henry Clay by a score of 75-61.  Franklin County shot 58.1% from the field including four of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Flyers connected on 21 of 30 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored four points off four Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 35.8% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Blue Devils connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 13 Franklin County turnovers.

 

Brooklynn Miles led Franklin County with 28 points including 12 of 13 free throws, four rebounds, and three assists.  Patience Laster added 18 points and 10 rebounds.  Jasmine Simpson recorded 12 points including two three point baskets.  5-8 Sr. Samareah Levarity recorded seven points and six rebounds.

 

Amiya Jenkins led Henry Clay with 24 points including two three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Kiya Thompson added 16 points including two three point baskets, three assists, and five steals.  Taviona Sanford recorded 10 points and three assists.  5-10 Sr. Grace Branchini chipped in with eight points and eight rebounds.
