Franklin County raced out to a 44-12 halftime lead on their way to a 55-40 victory over Western Hills.  Franklin County shot 40% from the field including eight of 18 from the three point line.  The Lady Flyers connected on eight of 12 free throws and pulled down 31 rebounds.  Western Hills shot 40% from the field including two of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Wolverines connected on six of nine free throws and pulled down 27 rebounds.

 

5-6 So. Brooklynn Miles led Franklin County with 15 points including five of six free throws and four assists.  5-6 Jr. Jasmine Simpson added 11 points including three three point baskets.  5-4 Sr. Julia Welsh recorded nine points on three three point baskets.  5-10 Fr. Patience Laster added seven points and six rebounds.

 

5-3 Jr. Maddie LeCompte led Western Hills with 15 points and four steals.  5-8 Fr. Leann Way added nine points including two three point baskets.

Berea defeated Montgomery County by a score of 63-37.  Berea shot 46% from the field including nine of 21 from the three point line.  The Lady Pirates connected on eight of 11 free throws and pulled down 27 rebounds.  Montgomery County shot 34.2% from the field including six of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Indians connected on six of 10 free throws and pulled down 21 rebounds.

 

5-6 Fr. Mati Stepp led Berea with 18 points including three three point baskets, six assists, and three steals.  5-11 Sr. Adrienne Beggs added 13 points and 11 rebounds.  5-8 Fr. Alexis Newman recorded 12 points on four three point baskets.

 

5-6 So. Kennon Owens led Montgomery County with seven points.  5-8 8th Grader Shaelynn Harris added six points including four of four free throws.  5-2 7th Grader Hayden Barrier recorded six points.

6-0 Fr. Madison Howell led Berea with 15 points including three three point baskets.  5-8 Fr. Alexis Newman added 11 points including three three point baskets.  5-11 Sr. Adrienne Beggs recorded seven points, nine rebounds, and three assists.  5-6 Fr. Tania Woodall.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 6-0 So. Kenady Tomkins, 5-10 Sr. Maaliya Owens, 6-2 Jr. Malea Williams, 5-6 Sr. Juliette Smith, and 5-5 Jr. Morgan DeFoor.

 

Scott County raced out to a 41-15 first quarter lead on their way to an 89-51 victory over Bryan Station.  Scott County shot 53% from the field including five of 20 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 14 of 17 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 32 points off 24 Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 34.5% from the field including seven of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Defenders connected on four of seven free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored three points off eight Scott County turnovers.

 

Morgan DeFoor led Scott County with 16 points, nine assists, and five steals.  Maaliya Owens added 15 points, three assists, and four steals.  Kenady Tomkins recorded 13 points.  Malea Williams chipped in with 11 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  5-6 Fr. Emma Price added 11 points including three three point baskets.  Eleven Lady Cardinals logged from 9:55 to 16:58 playing time in this game.

 

Kelynn Clay led Bryan Station with 15 points including three three point baskets.  Tania Woodall added 13 points and seven rebounds.  5-3 Sr. Stephanie Bueno recorded six points on two three point baskets.  Natoria Godoy added five points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

Josie Gilvin, 6-0 Jr. Kristen Clemons, 5-5 Jr. Destinee Marshall, and 5-6 Sr. Ashlee Harris.  Campbell County coach Beau Menefee countered with 5-8 Fr. Kylie Koeninger, 5-8 Jr. Hope Russell, 5-10 Sr. Tamara Wells, 5-3 Jr. Jalyn Jackson, and 5-6 Jr. Mallory Holbrook.

 

Campbell County led 29-23 at halftime but Sacred Heart Academy rallied to edge out the Lady Camels by a score of 57-56.  The score was tied six times and there were eight lead changes in the game.  Sacred Heart shot 41.1% from the field including two of 18 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 15 Campbell County turnovers.  Campbell County shot 42.2% from the field including seven of 26 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Camels shot 11 of 12 from the free throw line, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 10 points off eight Sacred Heart turnovers.

 

Kristen Clemons led Sacred Heart with 20 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shorts.  Josie Gilvin added 10 points and seven rebounds.  Ashlee Harris recorded 10 points, four rebounds, and five steals.

 

Mallory Holbrook led Campbell County with 20 points including five of five free throws.  Jalyn Jackson added 16 points including two three point baskets, six of six free throws, and seven rebounds.  Hope Russell recorded 10 points including two three point baskets.  Kylie Koeninger chipped in with seven points and 10 rebounds.  Tamara Wells recorded three points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots.

Mercy Academy controlled the boards (36-17) in an 81-69 victory over Southwestern.  Mercy Academy shot 50.9% from the field including six of 18 from the three point line.  The Jaguars connected on 21 of 22 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and seven points off 11 Southwestern turnovers.  Southwestern shot 45.1% from the field including nine of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Warriors connected on 14 of 17 free throws, pulled down 17 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 15 Mercy Academy turnovers.

 

5-9 Sr. Regan Berger led Mercy Academy with 18 points including two three point baskets, and nine rebounds.  6-1 Jr. TaZiah Jenks added 17 points and nine rebounds.  5-5 Jr. Hope Sivori recorded 16 points including four three point baskets, three rebounds, and seven assists.  6-0 Jr. Paige Taylor added 16 points and six rebounds.  5-9 So. Alexa Breedlove also reached double digits with 10 points.

 

5-8 Jr. Kennedy Harris led Southwestern with 16 points including four three point baskets.  5-10 Jr. Regi Cundiff also scored 16 points including six of six free throws.  5-9 Fr. Ben Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 31 points including five three point baskets and three assists.  Brice Scott added 12 points and eight rebounds.  Patrick Geoghegan recorded 10 points including two three point baskets and seven assists.

 

Ben McNew led East Jessamine with 15 points including three three point baskets.  Zion Thomas added 10 points on 10 of 10 free throws and five rebounds.  Kenzel Wadkins recorded 10 points and four rebounds.

Hannah Baker, 5-4 Sr. Kiely Flynn, and 5-4 Sr. Meagan Bellamy.  Lexington Catholic coach Scott True Sr. countered with 5-9 Fr. Chloe Treece, 5-8 Sr. Maylo Given, 5-7 So. Farah Weldon, 5-5 Sr. Catey Nash, and 5-8 Sr. Jay Ballard.

 

Estill County led 38-35 mid way through the third quarter but Lexington Catholic rallied for a 61-47 victory.  Lexington Catholic’s depth and foul woes plagued the Lady Engineers as Estill County was whistled for 25 fouls leading to Lexington Catholic’s 27 points from the free throw line and losing two starters via the foul route.

 

Lexington Catholic shot 34.9% from the field including four of 15 from the free throw line.  The Lady Knights connected on 27 of 36 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 19 Estill County turnovers.  Lexington Catholic also held an 18-3 advantage in bench scoring.  Estill County shot 32.6% from the field including three of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Engineers connected on 14 of 21 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 12 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Chloe Treece led Lexington Catholic with 17 points including 10 of 12 free throws and four rebounds.  Jay Ballard added 15 points including three three point baskets and four rebounds.  5-8 So. Aerial West recorded 13 points including five of six free throws and three rebounds.  Maylo Given added eight points and seven rebounds.

 

Kiely Flynn led Estill County with 14 points including five of five free throws and three rebounds.  Meagan Bellamy added 10 points, seven rebounds, and two assists.  Mia Hale recorded nine points, nine rebounds, and two assists.  Haley Angel also scored nine points.

Franklin County raced out to a 26-9 first quarter lead on their way to a 68-37 victory over Madison Central.  Franklin County shot 43.6% from the field including nine of 28 from the three point line.  The Lady Flyers connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 25 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison central shot 30.4% from the field including two of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Indians connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored seven points off 15 Franklin County turnovers.

 

Brooklynn Miles flirted with a quadruple-double tonight including 28 points including two three point baskets, nine rebounds, eight assists, and eight steals.  Jasmine Simpson added 16 points including four three point baskets.  Shannon Brunette recorded six points, nine rebounds, and three assists.

 

Taleya Todd led Madison Central with 14 points including two three point baskets and three rebounds.  Jekauri McKeithen added eight points and eight rebounds.  Logan Hudson recorded seven points and eight rebounds.

Mercy Academy defeated Bullitt East tonight 61-50 in an important Sixth Region matchup.  Mercy shot 39.8% from the field including five of 17 from the three point line.  The Jaguars connected on 14 of 21 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored two points off 13 Bullitt East turnovers.  Bullitt East shot 27.7% from the field including five of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Chargers connected on nine of 10 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored eight points off 23 Mercy turnovers.

 

Taziah Jenks led Mercy Academy with 24 points, 16 rebounds, and three steals.  Hope Sivori added 12 points including two three point baskets.  Regan Berger recorded nine points and seven rebounds.  Paige Taylor added six points and 13 rebounds.

 

Lexi Taylor led Bullitt East with 22 points, 13 rebounds, and five steals.  Emma Ralph and Emily Ezell each scored nine points.
