Lexington Christian Academy coach Nate Valentine started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Will Hacker, 6-1 Sr. Matthew Johnson, 6-7 Sr. Kyle Rode, 5-10 Sr. Baylor Brown, and 6-0 Sr. Pearce Dalton. Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Scott Chalk countered with 6-7 Sr. Trevor Rogers, 6-3 Sr. Michael Corio, 6-8 Jr. Rabby Kamona, 6-1 Sr. Grayson Shively, and 6-2 Sr. Jared Gadd.
Lexington Christian Academy trailed 27-24 at halftime but rallied to outscore Dunbar 20-10 in the third quarter on their way to a 53-45 victory. LCA shot 52.6% from the field including 10 of 18 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on three of five free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 16 Dunbar turnovers. Dunbar shot 35.9% from the field including six of 13 from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs connected on 11 of 17 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 11 points off10 LCA turnovers.
Kyle Rode led LCA with 23 points including four three point baskets, four rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Will Hacker added nine points on three three point baskets and eight rebounds. Matthew Johnson and Pearce Dalton each scored six points.
Grayson Shively led Dunbar with 18 points including five three point baskets. Jared Gadd and Trevor Rogers each scored seven points. Michael Corio recorded six points and seven rebounds.
