Simon Kenton vs. George Rogers Clark (Girls)

George Rogers Clark pulled away in the second half to defeat Simon Kenton by a score of 58-43.  The first half was a gritty defensive battle with Simon Kenton leading 11-6 after the first quarter.  GRC went on a 17-8 run in the second quarter and led 23-19 at halftime.  The Lady Cardinals outscored Simon Kenton 26-7 in the third quarter to take control of the game. 

 

George Rogers Clark shot 53.3% from the field including five of 13from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on five of 10 free throws and pulled down 22 rebounds.  Simon Kenton shot 39.6% from the field including five of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Pioneers connected on eight of 20 free throws and pulled down 23 rebounds.

 

5-10 Sr. Hayley Harrison led GRC with 24 points and five rebounds.  5-10 Fr. Tyra Flowers added nine points and six rebounds.  5-7 Jr. Kennedy Igo recorded six points and six rebounds.

 

5-6 Jr. Maggi Jones led Simon Kenton with 14 points.  5-9 Jr. Morgan Stamper added 11 points and five rebounds.  5-9 Jr. Mattie Vickers chipped in with nine points.  6-0 Sr. Rachel Bush recorded four points and seven rebounds.
