Covington Catholic led 47-0 at halftime on their way to a 50-8 victory over Dixie Heights. Covington Catholic recorded 17 first downs and 390 yards of total offense. The Colonels were penalized five times for 56 yards. Dixie Heights recorded 14 first downs and 224 yards of total offense. They were penalized eight times for 75 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.
C. McGinness led Covington Catholic led Covington Catholic’s ground game with 119 yards and four touchdowns on nine carries. L. Summe carried the ball three times for 61 yards and a touchdown. C. Jacob completed six of nine passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns. Z. Coburn caught three passes for 60 yards. M. Mayer and J. Coldiron caught touchdown passes for 89 and 16 yards respectively. C. McGinness returned two punts for 46 yards with a long return of 26 yards. T. Gronette was five of five on extra points, kicked a 27 yard field goal, kicked off eight times for a 53.8 average with four touch backs. J. Coldiron led the defense with four solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards. M. Mayer added four solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling four yards and recovered a fumble. G. Hemmer recorded three solo and one assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards. R. Halverstadt added three solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards. A. Molique intercepted two passes for total return yardage of 21 yards.
L. Marshall led Dixie Heights’ ground game with 47 yards on nine carries. J. Adams completed 10 of 22 passes for 141 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions. C. Williams caught seven passes for 121 yards and a touchdown. D. Sears returned two kickoffs for 41 yards with a long return of 28 yards. C. Williams added two kickoff returns for 38 yards with a long return of 19 yards. A. Barker led the defense with five solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a seven yard loss. CJ Bensman added four solo tackles. S. Young and E. Jerauld each recorded three solo tackles.
