Woodford County coach Ryan Wilson started the following lineup: 6-1 Sr. Nicholas Smith, 6-1 Jr. Brandon Cromwell, 6-1 Jr. Corey George, 5-8 So. Anthony Tabor, and 5-10 Jr. Ryan Duke.  Boyle County coach Steve Adams countered with 5-11 So. Reese Smith, 5-10 Sr. Bryce Slone, 5-11 So. Grant Hotchkiss, 5-8 Jr. Jacob Lassiter, and 6-0 Sr. Jason Alexander.

 

This was a game of runs and Woodford County had the last one to defeat Boyle County by a score of 69-63.  Woodford County led 37-29 at halftime but Boyle County outscored the Yellow Jackets 23-11 in the third quarter to take a 52-48 lead after three quarters.  Woodford County rallied, outscoring Boyle County 21-11 over the final eight minutes to earn the victory.  The score was tied six times and there were 11 lead changes in the game.

 

Woodford County shot 55% from the field including seven of 14 from the three point line.  The Yellow Jackets connected on 18 of 24 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored eight points off eight Boyle County turnovers.  Boyle County shot 48.9% from the field including six of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Rebels connected on 11 of 13 free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored eight points off nine Woodford County turnovers.

 

Nicholas Smith led Woodford County with 23 points and five rebounds.  Brandon Cromwell added 15 points including two three point baskets and six rebounds.  Corey George recorded nine points and nine rebounds.  5-8 Jr. Benjamin Nash chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets and four assists.

 

Bryce Slone led Boyle County with 20 points including four three point baskets.  Reese Smith added 16 points and five rebounds.  Jason Alexander recorded 12 points and five assists.  Grant Hotchkiss chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds.

Boyle County (63) – Smith 16, Slone 20, Hotchkiss 11, Lassiter 0, Alexander 12, Bramel 4.

 

Nicholas Smith, Brandon Cromwell, and Corey George (Woodford County) and Reese Smith and Bryce Slone (Boyle County) were named to the All Tournament Team from these two teams.
