Wayne County coach Mark McKinley started the following lineup: 5-8 Fr. Alyssa Conn, 5-6 Sr. Haleigh Criswell, 5-10 8th Grade Mallory Campbell, 5-5 Fr. Jade Turner, and 5-8 Fr. Macey Blevins. Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey countered with 5-7 Sr. Blaze Pacheco, 5-7 Sr. Eliza Minter, 5-10 So. Je’Kauri McKeithen, 5-5 Sr. Bailey Vanover, and 5-6 Jr. Madison Barnard.
Wayne County led Madison Central 41-29 in the third quarter on their way to a 54-46 victory over the Indians. Wayne County shot 40.7% from the field including four of 15 from the three point line. The Cardinals connected on six of 12 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 11 Madison Central turnovers. Madison Central shot 26.9% from the field including six of 22 from beyond the arc. The Indians connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 10 points off eight Wayne County turnovers.
Alyssa Conn led Wayne County with 23 points and five rebounds. Macey Blevins added 12 points including two three point baskets, 12 rebounds, eight assists, and two steals. Haleigh Criswell recorded 10 points including two three point baskets and six rebounds. Mallory Campbell pulled down eight rebounds.
Bailey Vanover led Madison Central with 14 points including two three point baskets, eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Je’Kauri McKeithen added 11 points and 17 rebounds. 5-6 Fr. Lacie Parks added 10 points including two three point baskets.
