Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey started the following lineup: 5-7 So. Taleya Todd, 5-7 Sr. Blaze Pacheco, 5-10 Jr. Je’Kauri McKeithen, 5-5 Sr. Bailey Vanover, and 5-6 Jr. Madison Barnard.  Berea coach Dammian Stepp countered with 5-8 8th Grade Alexis Newman, 5-6 8th Grade Matilyn Stepp, 5-11 Jr. Adrienne Beggs, 4-11 8th Grade Isis Rodgers, and 5-4 Fr. Melissa Gosney. (This could possibly be the youngest starting varsity in the state).

 

Madison Central recorded 27 steals, two blocked shots, and scored 36 points off 34 Berea turnovers in a 66-27 victory.  Madison Central shot 37.9% from the field including 10 of 20 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on six of 15 free throws and pulled down 38 rebounds.  Berea shot 25.6% from the field including three of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Pirates connected on four of 10 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Madison Central turnovers.

 

Bailey Vanover led Madison Central with 17 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, seven assists, two blocked shots, and seven steals. Taleya Todd also scored 17 points including two three point baskets, four assists, and four steals.  Blaze Pacheco recorded nine points on three three point baskets, six rebounds, and three steals.

 

Adrienne Beggs led Berea with nine points, 11 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Alexis Newman added four points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots.
