Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Scott Chalk started the following lineup: 6-3 Jr. Michael Corio, 6-2 Jr. Jared Gadd, 6-5 Jr. Trevor Rogers, 5-10 Sr. JaQuice Gray, and 6-2 Jr. Isaiah Allen.  Lexington Christian Academy coach Nate Valentine countered with 6-7 Sr. Carter Hendricksen, 6-2 Jr. Will Hacker, 6-6 Sr. Austin Hall, 6-0 Jr. Pearce Dalton, and 6-2 Jr. Isiah Hunt. (6-7 Jr. Kyle Rode is out tonight with an ankle injury).

 

The score was tied 26-26 at halftime but Dunbar outscored LCA 27-18 in the third quarter and held on down the stretch to earn a 72-69 victory.  The score was tied seven times and there were 10 lead changes in the game.  Dunbar shot 42.6% from the field including seven of 17 from the three point line.  The Bulldogs connected on 25 of 37 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 12 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 34% from the field including eight of 25 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on 25 of 32 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 20 Dunbar turnovers.

 

Jared Gadd led Dunbar with 22 points  including three three point baskets and five rebounds.  JaQuice Gray added 19 points including 14 of 19 free throws, nine rebounds, and four assists.  Isaiah Allen recorded 14 points including two three point baskets.  Trevor Rogers chipped in with nine points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.

 

Carter Hendricksen led LCA with 29 points including 15 of 16 free throws, 14 rebounds, and two assists.  Austin Hall added 13 points and 10 rebounds.  6-1 So. Ezekiel Greer chipped in with 10 points.  Will Hacker added nine points on three three point baskets.
